MCC will start the NEET Counselling 2025 from July 21, 2025. The counselling process will be held on the official website – mcc.nic.in. The choice filling will start from July 22, 2025. The last date for registration and choice filling is July 28, 2025.
NEET Counselling 2025 round 1 seat allotment result will be released on July 31, 2025. Shortlisted candidates must report to the allotted college from Aihust 1 to 6, 2025. Download NEET UG Counselling Schedule 2025
- Round 2 allotment will be out on August 21, Round 3 on September 11, and stray vacancy round on September 27, 2025.
The NEET Counselling will be conducted by MCC for 15% AIQ seats, and for the remaining 85% seats of the state quota, the counselling will be conducted separately by each state.
- In NEET, there are approximately 1.8 lakhs MBBS Seats in more than 700 medical colleges of India, where the seat allotment will be done as per the merit performance of the candidate, the candidate’s choice and the availability of seats.
- As per the past few years, the NEET Qualifying marks for the general category will be 720-120 marks and for OBC/SC/ST candidates, it will be from 120 to 95.
The NEET Reservation policy is set as per the government norms, where 27% seats are for OBC-NCL, 15% Seats for SC, 7.5% seats for ST, 10% seats for EWS and 5% horizontal reservation for PwD candidates.

NEET 2025 Result
The NTA has officially released the NEET 2025 Result today, on 14th June, 2025, on the official website neet.nta.nic.in.
Candidates can download their scorecard, which will include the subject-wise marks, total score, percentile, AIR and their qualifying status as well. The NEET Result will be based on the final answer key, and it will determine the eligibility of the candidate for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other UG Medical seats in India.

There were a few complaints in NEET 2025 by the candidates, which were the extreme difficulty level of the exam, the physics section, and a power outage in the exam were reported in few areas, which were a major problem for the candidates. How Many Candidates Appeared in NEET 2025?
In the NEET UG 2025, around 21 lakh candidates appeared for the exam from 22 lakh registered candidates, seeing one of the highest participation rates in the history of the NEET Exam.

In NEET UG, there has been a constant increase in registration, participation, and competition in the past few years.
As more than 22 lakh candidates registered in 2025, the trend was similar to that of the previous years, as the numbers have increased due to the demand for MBBS, BDS and Ayush seats in India.

Was NEET 2025 the toughest?
Yes, the NEET 2025 Exam was comparatively more difficult than the previous year NEET Exams, due to the concept-based questions and large calculation-based questions in the physics section. The sections of Biology and Chemistry were balanced, but time management was required to solve them as well.
NEET 2025 MP Power Outage Case: Court Delays Result-Related Hearing
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has postponed the hearing for a petition related to the NEET 2025 Result. This was filed by candidates who have faced issues in the exam due to power failure at several exam centres in Madhya Pradesh on 4th May, 2025.
As they have lost their time on the exam day due to power cut issues, the court has directed both parties to submit their response before the next date.
NEET 2025 Counselling
The NEET 2025 Counselling is expected to start in July 2025, after the result declaration on 14th June 2025.
NEET counselling will be conducted in 2 separate parts, with 15% AIQ seats for which counselling will be conducted by MCC and 85% State quota seats for which counselling will be conducted separately by different states on their own.

NEET 2025 Counselling Types: AIQ vs State Quota
The NEET Counselling is conducted in two parts, AIQ and State Quota Counselling. The AIQ covers 15% of government medical seats across India, whereas the state quota covers 85% remaining seats for candidates belonging to a particular state.
Both AIQ and State Quota are essential for the MBBS/BDS Admissions, but they differ as per the eligibility criteria, reservation and the availability of seats.

State-Wise NEET 2025 Cutoff
The State-Wise NEET Cutoff will refer to the minimum marks or rank which is required by candidates to get admission under the 85% state quota in the government and private medical colleges.
After the NEET Result, the NEET cutoff will be released separately by each state according to their category, reputation of the college, seat intake and the difficulty level.
The NEET Cutoff will be declared separately for the MBBS and BDS courses during the state counselling.
- Maximum MBBS cutoffs are expected in Rajasthan, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh, where general category cutoff scores will be between 625 and 635 due to high competition in these states.
- BDS cutoffs are expected to be 70-100 marks lower than MBBS statewise, with Rajasthan and Maharashtra having comparatively higher cutoff trends for dental studies.
- The higher difficulty level in the Physics section can cause a reduction of 3-5 marks in the top government medical colleges' cutoff.

The NEET Cutoff Varies year by year as per the difficulty level of the exam, the total number of candidates who appeared for the exam and the seat intake. The NEET cutoff is the minimum qualifying percentile and marks that are required to be eligible for admission in MBBS or BDS.
- The NEET cutoff was high in 2024, due to the easy level of the exam and higher participation, the cutoff was increased to 164, which was the highest in past 5 years.

NEET Seat Reservation
The NEET UG 2025 follow a specific reservation policy, which is set by the government of India, where 15% seats are for AIQ.
These reservations follow access to medical education for candidates of different categories. The remaining 15% of State quota seats follow the reservation policy from specific states.
- Almost 60% of AIQ seats are kept reserved, so category-wise rank becomes critical in seat allocation.
