MP High Court Division Bench has ruled that there will be no NEET UG 2025 re-test for candidates affected by power outage at exam centers in Indore and Ujjain. NEET UG exam was held on May 4 and the result was released on June 14, 2025.

Madhya Pradesh High Court has ruled against the NEET UG re-test 2025 for candidates affected by power outage in Indore and Ujjain exam centers. This verdict reverses the decision of the single bench to conducted NEET re-test for the 75 affected candidates.

A MP High Court Division Bench comprising Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Binod Kumar Dwivedi noted that a re-test for a small group would cause logistical chaos and compromise the integrity of a national-level exam taken by over 22 lakh candidates.

Also no conclusive data showed performance dips due to the blackout as one candidate was AIR 2 and several candidates score over 600 in the affected centers.

The bench stated:

"Disturbance to the students is not disputed; we also understand the issue of stress faced by the students in such a situation. We have full sympathy for students. Many have taken drop also, we understand their problem. But see, 22 Lakhs students had appeared, all of them can't be selected. Hard Luck Bad Luck. Only one plane crashed (referring to the Ahmedabad Air India crash), but thousands fly every day. One girl missed the flight by ten minutes, but she was saved. So it happens."

NEET UG 2025 Re-Test Issue

This year, the NEET UG 2025 exam was conducted on May 4, 2025. Petitions were filed at the Madhya Pradesh High Court owing to NTA NEET exam mismanagement.
