The NEET Punjab counselling 2025 is expected to start from 4th week of July 2025 or the first week of August 2025. Basically the counselling is conducted a few months after the NEET result is declared. The actual date will be announced by BFUHS, Faridkot ( State Counselling Authority) on Punjab NEET counselling official website : bfuhs.ac.in.

The NEET Punjab Counselling 2025 seat allocation will be done based on multiple quotas :

  • 15% of the total seats in Government medical and dental colleges are reserved for the AIQ; they are filled through centralized counselling, and are open for applicants from any state of India
  • The remaining 85% of seats in the government institutes are reserved for Punjab Domicile candidates and are filled through state-level counselling under BFUHS.
  • The seat reservation for Punjab varies across different categories, including 15% for SC, 7.5 % for ST, 27% for OBC, 10% for EWS and 10% for BC.

Additionally, around 5% of seats are reserved for PwD candidates across all the categories.

The NEET Punjab Counselling 2025 is expected to start from 1st week of August 2025. It will be conducted in 3 rounds with Round 1 covering seat allotment processing, registration. The final NEET Punjab counselling 2025 seat allotment result is anticipated to be the 3rd or 4th week of August. Round 2 will take place around the 2nd or 3rd week of September 2025. NEET Punjab Counselling Seat Matrix 2025

The seat matrix for Punjab NEET Counselling 2025 includes all the government and private medical colleges of the state. The seat allocation will be done as per the official guidelines of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), and an update to the matrix will be provided before every round of counselling.

What is the seat matrix in NEET Punjab Counselling 2025?

It is expected that around 13 medical colleges will participate in Punjab NEET Counseling 2025, offering 1850 MBBS seats. Out of these, 5 are Government colleges offering nearly 850 seats, while the remaining 8 are Private colleges offering another 1,000 seats roughly. These seats get distributed amongst eligible candidates based on NEET marks, reservation category, and domicile status, always as per the BFUHS regulations.

Punjab NEET Counselling Eligibility Criteria 2025

The following are the eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate must have qualified for NEET UG 2025 with a valid score.
  • Minimum age required is 17 years on or before December 31, 2025
  • Passes 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • Minimum marks in qualifying examination:
    • 50% for the General and EWS category
    • 40% for the SC, ST, and OBC categories
    • 45% for PwD
  • Must qualify as a resident of Punjab, holding a valid domicile certificate.

The expected NEET Punjab counselling 2025 cut off shows there will be competition in the General category. For the General category the expected cut off percentile will be around 50th and the score is coming around 725-165. The expected range of scores for a General-PH is somewhere between 130-165 for 45th percentile marks. The expected cut off for SC, ST, and OBC candidates are expected to be around 130-165. The expected scores for SC/OBC-PH would be in the range of 150-160, while for ST-PH, the expected score would be in between 130-150, both corresponding to the 40th percentile.

Punjab NEET Counselling Fee 2025

The NEET Punjab counselling 2025 fees is based on the nature of the institution.

  • Candidates applying to the government medical college are required to remit fees of Rs 10,000; however, it is refundable in case a seat is not allotted.
  • For private colleges, this fee amount is Rs. 1,00,000, also refundable under the same conditions.

Payment must be made via online mode through debit/credit card or net banking.

Ques. Who is eligible for the Punjab state quota in NEET?

Ans. Candidates who are residents of Punjab and have a valid Punjab domicile certificate are eligible for state quota.

Ques. Is Punjab an open state for MBBS admissions?

Ans. No, Punjab is considered as a closed state, this means only Punjab residents are entitled to state quota seats. Candidates from other states can only seek admission under the AIQ counselling for AIIMS and other specified institutes. The policies for private colleges change. Some may provide management quota seats to non-residents, while some may not.
