The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will officially announced the seat matrix for the NEET 2025 once the NEET Results are out. The NEET cutoff scores determine admissions to various courses such as 91,415 MBBS seats, 1205 AIIMS MBBS seats, 200 JIPMER MBBS seats, 27,948 BDS seats, 52,720 AYUSH seats, 487 BSc Nursing seats, and 603 BVSc seats. The 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and the 85% State Quota NEET total seats are counseled separately. Four rounds of NEET Counselling are anticipated for the academic year 2025; more rounds may be notified depending on the number of open NEET PG seat.
- From last year forward, a second round—the Stray Vacancy round—was added.
- Candidates may register for the first two rounds; however, there will be no registration process available for the mop-up round and the stray vacancy round.
- NTA NEET counselling includes two types: All India and State. The NEET UG counseling includes the following seats.
The All India State Quota has 15% reservation in NEET total seats in all government medical and dental colleges. It's crucial to remember that J & K are not a part of this procedure. State NEET Counseling 2025 will be used for admissions to 85% of seats in government colleges and all NEET seats in private unaided/aided minority/non-minority medical/dental institutes in the state. Around 532 medical colleges will participate in the AIQ and State Quota counselling. The biggest number of MBBS NEET seats are available in states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, with an additional 5,200 seats in each.

- The number of medical seats at the UG level increased from 51,348 in 2014 to 1,08,990 for the fiscal, a 112% growth in UG seats.
- There has been a 127% increase in the postgraduate seats. There are 70,645 PG NEET seats compared to 31,185 in 20213-14.
- The admission to AIIMS and JIPMER is conducted through NEET. The NEET 2025 seat matrix will also include 2196 MBBS seats in 21 AIIMS colleges.

How many seats are available in NEET?
Last year, there were a total of 76,928 MBBS NEET seats available through NEET in India, encompassing both government and private colleges (including deemed universities). Approx. 55,648 NEET seats are in government colleges, and 50,685 NEET seats are in private MBBS colleges. In 2024, the government increased this number by adding 5150 more seats for MBBS courses

For NEET 2025, an estimated 10,000 new MBBS seats have been added, bringing the total number of MBBS seats in India to around 127,906. With the addition of these new seats, the total MBBS NEET seats in India for 2025 are expected to be around 127,906.
How many students get selected in NEET?
In NEET 2024, a total of 13,15,853 candidates qualified out of 23,33,162 test takers, according to the revised merit list. In NEET-UG 2023, out of 20.38 lakh students who appeared, 11.46 lakh qualified, with a success rate of around 6-7%. In NEET 2022, 17.64 lakh candidates wrote the exam, and 9.93 lakh candidates passed. In 2021, out of 15.4 lakh students, 7.97 lakh students qualified.

Ans. Yes, Foreign National can apply for NEET 2024. Students applying as Foreign Nationals must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English in Class XII with 50% marks, as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.

I'm interested in knowing the number of MBBS & BDS seats available state-wise and college-wise?
The mop-up round is last round of counselling which is conducted for seats which are left vacant also in mop up round, the qualified or waitlisted candidates can have a chance to get a seat for their desired colleges.
NEET Seat Matrix 2022 will be released soon by MCC on the official website. There are a total of 8787 seats available in deemed universities for MBBS this year.
