NEET Cutoff 2025

As per the NEET Cutoff 2025, for AIQ seats, the candidate must score 600+ to get a government MBBS seat, whereas, under the State Quota, students with scores of around 500–600 have more chances, particularly in the reserved categories.

SC/ST students may be competitive with 420+ scores under the State Quota. The General/EWS candidates must target 620+ for a safe score, OBC target 600+, and SC/ST target 500+ under AIQ, while slightly lower scores may secure a seat in the colleges under State Quota.

NEET Cutoff 2025 for AIQ – Government Colleges

Under AIQ (15% seats), the NEET 2025 General/EWS cutoff is expected to be 620–680+, reflecting tough competition. The OBC candidates need around 590–610, which is low but also competitive. SC/ST cutoffs are 520–550, showing the reservation policy, which gives ease of accessibility to reserved categories while maintaining competitive levels throughout the country.

Category Estimated Cutoff Marks
General 620 – 680+
OBC 590 – 610
SC 520 – 550
ST 520 – 550
EWS 620 – 680+

NEET Cutoff 2025 for State Quota – Government Colleges

Under the State Quota (85% seats), cutoffs are below AIQ as they provide admission to state domicile. For General/EWS, cutoffs are in the range of 570–620+, which is 50–60 marks less than AIQ. OBC cutoffs range between 550–590, with SC/ST cutoffs even lower, to 420–490, expanding accessibility for the reserved categories within their states.

Category Estimated Cutoff Marks
General 570 – 620+
OBC 550 – 590
SC 420 – 490
ST 420 – 490
EWS 570 – 620+

NEET Cut off 2025 for MBBS Government College

The NEET 2025 cutoff for MBBS in government colleges indicates that General candidates require approximately 510–530 marks, whereas OBC/EWS requires 480–500.

SC students will need 460–480, and ST 430–460.

Thus, reserved categories have benefits through lower cutoffs, but all candidates will require scores way above the minimum qualifying marks to get a secure seat in a government medical college.

Category NEET Cutoff 2025
Gen UR 510-530
OBC 480-500
EWS 480-500
SC 460-480
ST 430-460

NEET 2025 Cutoff Marks Statistics

The NEET 2025 marks statistics show that not many candidates got more than 650, and the majority of the candidates are between 300–450. Just 73 got 651–686, but the larger number of candidates, more than 1 lakh, are between 300–400.

This indicates that it is a close competition in mid-scores, so even a slight increase can improve ranks. For students who got marks in this range, the competition is extremely high, and they have to depend on reservations, state quotas, or private seats to get MBBS admissions.

Yes, with 448 marks in NEET 2025, you are eligible for admission to MBBS in government medical colleges in Maharashtra. This year, the Maharashtra NEET 2025 cutoff is expected to be lower than in previous years and is likely to be in the range of 420-450 marks for the SC category.

With 430 marks in NEET 2025 chances for a government MBBS seat in Karnataka depend on your reservation category.

For General Merit (GM) and most OBC categories like 2A, 3A, or 3B, this score is unfortunately below the usual cutoff. In 2024, government college cutoffs for these categories were mostly between 534 to 620 marks.

However, if you belong to the SC or ST categories, you actually have a good chance. Last year’s cutoffs for:

  • SC candidates ranged from about 416 to 521
  • ST candidates ranged from about 406 to 533

Here are a few government colleges in Karnataka where the cutoff tends to be lower and you might have a chance:

  • Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences
  • Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences
  • Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences
  • Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences

These colleges often have cutoffs that drop in the final rounds of counseling, especially for reserved categories.

I scored 580 marks in NEET 2025 and belong to the OBC category from Bihar. What is my expected rank and which colleges can I get?

With a NEET 2025 score of 580 and OBC category from Bihar, you have a good chance of getting an MBBS seat in a government medical college under the 85% state quota.

Your expected All India Rank (AIR) for a score of 580 is likely to fall between 13,000 to 18,000, based on previous years’ data.

Government Medical Colleges in Bihar You Can Target:

  • Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College, Gaya
  • Vardhman Institute of Medical Sciences, Pavapuri
  • Darbhanga Medical College, Laheriasarai
  • ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Bihta, Patna
  • Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Bhagalpur
  • Sri Krishna Medical College, Muzaffarpur
  • Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, Patna
  • Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna

These colleges had closing ranks in previous years that match your score range, making them strong possibilities for you under the OBC quota.

I got 500 marks in NEET 2025 and I am from the OBC category in Rajasthan. What are my chances?

With a NEET 2025 score of 500 and belonging to the OBC category from Rajasthan, your chances of getting an MBBS seat in a government medical college under the 85% state quota are moderate to good, especially in newly established or regionally located colleges.

In NEET 2024, the closing scores for OBC candidates in Rajasthan for government colleges were around 492 to 505. Your score of 500 falls comfortably within this range.

Here are some government medical colleges in Rajasthan where you have a realistic chance:

  • Government Medical College, Dholpur – Closed around 500 marks last year. Good chance of admission.
  • Government Medical College, Jhunjhunu – Slightly lower demand, usually within your score range.
  • Government Medical College, Hanumangarh – Closed around 495. Your score is above that.
  • Government Medical College, Karauli – Closed around 492. High probability for you.
  • Government Medical College, Barmer – Typically has closing scores below 500. Good opportunity.
  • Government Medical College, Bharatpur – Borderline case, but worth including in your preference list.
  • Government Medical College, Churu – Generally a safe option with your score.

If you need help arranging your preference list or exploring backup options, feel free to ask!

To qualify NEET exam, general category students must have scored at least 50%. The qualifying mark for general students for NEET 2021 was 138-720. With 125 marks your chance of getting admission is very low.

NEET Cut off is released in two forms- qualifying cut off and admission cut off. NEET qualifying cut off is released in the form of percentile score which is required to clear the exam. While admission cutoff is released by particular institution.
