- This will focus on heat and thermodynamics covering the laws of thermodynamics and mechanisms of heat transfer; it is essential that gas behavior is understood.
- These are necessary for transforming and transduction concepts in physical systems: Some of the topics studied comprise the photoelectric effect atomic models, and Nuclear physics insight has been provided into this 'world quantum'; how matter behaves when a particular threshold, is measured in microscopic scales.
- Current Electricity and Magnetism: This topic includes the study of electric currents, magnetic fields, and their interrelation, which essentially constitutes the backbone of electromagnetism.
Chemistry
- P-Block Elements: This chapter deals with the properties, reactions, and applications of p-block elements, which fall in groups 13 to 18 of the periodic table, and thus are a very important aspect of understanding chemical bonding and reactivity.
- Coordination Compounds: Coordination chemistry is introduced, demonstrating how structure, bonding, and reactivity are interrelated for complex compounds formed between metal ions and ligands.
- Biomolecules: Carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids: Biochemical perspective is covered and introduces the biochemical view to comprehend the molecular basis of life.
Biology:
- Biotechnology and Its Applications: This chapter deals with the principles and applications of biotechnology, including genetic engineering, recombinant DNA technology, and their implications in medicine and agriculture.

Is NEET 2025 Easy?
Assessing the difficulty of NEET 2025 involves analyzing the exam patterns and weightage from previous years (2025–2020). As per the previous year's data it has been expected that difficulty level has not been changed from the last years.
Here is the Weightage analysis of the previous years' along with the expected weightage of NEET 2025.
NEET Subject-wise Weightage Analysis (2025-2020)
Year | Physics (%) | Chemistry (%) | Biology (%) | Total Weightage |
---|---|---|---|---|
2025 | 25% | 25% | 50% | 100% |
2024 | ~25% | ~35% | ~40% | 100% |
2023 | ~25% | ~35% | ~40% | 100% |
2022 | ~23% | ~32% | ~45% | 100% |
2021 | ~23% | ~33% | ~44% | 100% |
2020 | ~24% | ~33% | ~43% | 100% |
Physics:
- The weightage for Physics has remained stable at around 25% for the last 3 years (2023-2025), with slight fluctuations in earlier years (2020-2022), ranging from 23% to 25%.
- Key observation: Physics continues to hold a significant share in the NEET exam, with relatively consistent weightage.
Chemistry:
- Chemistry was another one that contributed steadily around 33-35% across all years. The small decline to 32% in 2022 was partly because emphasis on certain topics has become lesser, but that said, it still is one of the most crucial subjects during NEET preparation.
- Observation point: Chemistry is a discipline where equal preparation in the three streams of Organic, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry must be done.
Biology:
- The weightage percentage has been steadily increasing, going up from 43% in 2020 to 45% in 2022 while holding a dominant 40% share in 2023 and 2024.
- Key observation: Biology is the most important subject in NEET, accounting for the maximum weightage to the total score. It needs to be concentrated upon in order to achieve high scores.
Subject-wise Difficulty Analysis (2024–2020)
Year | Physics | Chemistry | Biology | Overall Difficulty |
---|---|---|---|---|
2025 (Expected) | Moderate to Tough | Moderate | Easy | Moderate to Tough |
2024 | Moderate to Tough | Moderate | Easy | Moderate to Tough |
2023 | Easy to Moderate | Easy to Moderate | Easy | Easy to Moderate |
2022 | Easy to Moderate | Easy to Moderate | Easy | Easy to Moderate |
2021 | Challenging | Easy to Moderate | Easy to Moderate | Moderate |
2020 | Moderate | Easy to Moderate | Easy | Moderate |
Expected Difficulty for NEET 2025:
- Physics: Moderately Tough difficulty level might be expected in Physics NEET 2025 in comparison to NEET 2024 because of constant weightage given to subject and emphasis laid on application of critical thinking skills rather than mere theoretical knowledge.
- Chemistry: Chemistry is expected to be Moderate, as it has been in previous years (2024). The well-balanced nature of the subject, that is, Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry keeps its difficulty at a moderate level.
- Biology: Biology will likely continue to be Easy, because it has always been the easiest subject in terms of conceptual complexity. It will remain accessible for most students.
- Overall Difficulty: The overall difficulty for NEET 2025 is expected to be Moderate to Tough, mainly due to the Physics and Chemistry sections, though Biology will continue to balance the exam's overall difficulty.
“Overall, the difficulty has ranged from Easy to Moderate (2020–2022) to Moderate to Tough (2024–2025), with more challenging years in Physics and a more balanced overall difficulty.”
