I am a general student so I pay around 3 lakh a year. 2 lakh is tuition and around 1 lakh is hostel fee for a year(which is 2 semesters). SC/ST students dont have to pay any tuition fee and only need to pay the hostel fee. If the family income is less than 5 lakh then you have to pay only 33 thousand as tuition fee and it the income is less than 1 lakh then you have to pay no tuition fee at all. There are various scholarships for underprivilaged students, like MCM(merit cum means), and various other scholarships based on departments and family income.

The tution fees is at par with other IITs/premier institutes. The complete fees is about 120000INR for the four year course. There are a lot of scholarship opportunities available in the campus for which you can apply.

IITs allow even financially backward students to students, it means they provide us with decrement of fee for OBC below 5 lakh annual income and SC/ST students having valid documents. You can apply to many scholarships . Generally Tuition fee is 1 lakh per semester, hostel fee is about 40000 per semester. For eligible OBC students and SC/ST Students they will be having concession based on the income. MCM, Aditya Birla are some of the scholarships you can apply for.

Those who have family income more than 6LPA and are in general category are not eligible for any scholarship. There are scholarships for other category students and also fee waivers up to 100% reduction in tuition fee(not in hostel fees). For general category student per year about 3 LPA fees is taken.

The fee structure is based on family income of the student. The tuituion fee would be refunded to the students with weaker economic sections. GEN OBC family income > 5lac Rs. 100000/- GEN OBC faimly income b/w 1 to 5 lac Rs. 33000/- Family income < 1lac Rs. 0/- Campus does not offer many campus employment oppurtunites. There are many student bodies that are functional though.

I have a total fee of approximately three lakhs for two semesters which include tution, hostel, mess and all other stuff. We need maximum other ten thousand if we want to buy other study stuff. MCM scholarship is available for students. We can become Teaching assistants if we want to earn and too only in 4th or 5th year.

The fees is on the higher side compared to other government colleges but it is justified for the facilities and amenities in the classroom. But if you are availing of any reservation facility then your all fees will be waived off.
Without any second thoughts, choose IIT Roorkee CSE B. Tech over IIT KGP CSE dual degree because dual degrees are usually less preferred by companies coming for placements.
It’s better to do MTech after BTech than to opt for a dual degree. The main reason is that in Masters you are open to changing your branch in case your interest goes to another field. But a dual degree means you will be studying the same field with no option of changing in between.
Another major disadvantage of a dual degree is that you are not eligible to change your branch to a 4-year program irrespective of your CGPA
You will see your batchmates leaving a year before you and getting offers and settling well before you.
IIT KGP no doubt is older and better than IIT Roorkee in every aspect. But as far as the program is concerned, a dual degree is not worth spending so many years at all.
In my opinion, an IIT KGP CSE dual degree is a better option than IIT Guwahati CSE. Here’s why
IIT Guwahati is also a good option for CSE. However, one should opt for IIT Delhi EE only if
You are confident that one will be able to change branch within a year. This is because you will end up studying CS courses with external coaching.
To secure a job, the best options are CSE or MBA. For MBA, your branch does not really matter, only your institute does.
CSE department of both IIT Kharagpur and IIT Hyderabad is top notch offering the best coursework and coding culture.
But here’s the thing about CSE, it consists only of coding. In case you later find out that you are not really interested in it, joining IIT Hyderabad might prove to be a wrong decision. On the other hand, IIT KGP has many branches to choose from and also has noncore companies for Finance companies visiting the campus. One can pursue their area of interest and does not have to stick to the branch he chose.
Another reason why people prefer IIT Kharagpur over IIT Hyderabad is the better peer group in terms of JEE Rank. This is because IIT KGP has a cutoff lower than IITH thus inviting only the best.
Thus, IIT KGP has a slight advantage over IITH as far as alumni network, peer quality, and variety of branches are concerned. IITH is a good option only if you are confident that you are interested in nothing but coding. Else IIT Kharagpur is always the better choice.
Irrespective of the IIT you choose, CS placements are excellent everywhere with very lucrative packages offered to its top rankers. A good student can pay a package as high as INR 30-40 LPA in CS whereas the same students will only end up with a package of INR 10–15 LPA.
While many may comment that placements should not be the only determining factor, I am here to contradict that opinion. CS is a branch that is dynamic and any engineering aspirants will be attracted to it naturally while other branches are a bit rigid and require specific attention.
As far as CSE at IIT BHU is concerned, it’s at par with most older IITs. The majority of the batch is pre-placed or placed on the first day itself. A few top recruiters include Goldman Sachs, Oracle, Microsoft, etc.
