Amrita has a very vibrant social life. There are pleanty of clubs to choose from. Amrita has clubs which has won competitions in international events and also there are clubs which are humanitarian. Amrita's infrastructure is something to be talked about. All the classes have smart boards and mic facility. Labs are very well maintained and instruments in labs are of highest quality. Library has a huge online reserve from which a student can borrow anything. Also if you forget to return a book then the late fees is such minimal that it does'nt affects your pocket much.

Placement Experience:

Placements are a major part of Amrita. Students starts getting placement offers from 7th semester itself. A lot of companies visit amrita for the the creme layer of students but there are plenty mass recruitment companies also. Being an aerospace student, getting a good placement after bachelors is difficult so, most of the students opt for higher studies. I opted out of the placement pool as my aim is set for a masters degree.

Faculty:

The faculty to student ratio is well maintained. The classes are not over crowded. The engagement in classes are also very well maintained. They build good relationships with their students both at personal and professional levels. The faculo usually have experience in the industry, so they share that with the students There are 3 exams conducted before the final Sem exam. These are considered for the internal marks of 50 and sem exam is conducted for another 50. I personally love this systems and as each internal exam the students has to study and at the end doesn't have to suffer all together. Very few students get a backlog if studied a little also it's not that tough to crack the exam The course curriculum is well designed for industrial purposes

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is well designed. From first year they start with the very basic phy, chem and maths. Later on in second year they dive into the core subjects. In third year students are required to choose there electives based on their interests All the subjects included in the syllabus are well incorporated at the right place and becomes very helpful in the future for masters or job as well There are 3 internal exams before the final Sem exam. The exam is designed according and has three levels It's not tough to pass but yeah getting a gold medal is obviously difficult because the high level questions are always conceptual.

The faculty to student ratio I nearly 1:10 as the college has limited students. Also all the faculties are well qualified and teach upto the mark. Sometimes some of th faculties may be too fast at teaching but the phd students assigned as teaching assistants are a really good aid in these situations. In first year according to New Education Policy we'll be having one mid sem exam (25-35 marks variable according to the teacher) and end sem exam (40 marks) and continuous internal assessment (35-25 marks). Exams are quotes difficult according to my experience in mid term. Even the highest scores are about 75-80% of total marks. Subjects in first year are Thermodynamics, Physics, Chemistry, Calculus, Communication Skills,C++ and Software labs like Auto Cad and Inventor Professional.

Campus Life:

The college has two major fest The Technical fest Conscientia which was recently held and was a big hit. Also the cultural fest know as Dhanak which is also one of the biggest gets in the state of Kerela. Talking about books and journals in library they are highly accessible and also opportunity to use libraries accross the world through e Library collaboration is possible. The sports facilities are available in good numbers but are below the belt compared to IITs and NITs. There are dozen of student run co-curricular and extra curricular clubs. One of the biggest social activities club is Nirmaan. Major clubs are Astouns Dance club, Neptune - Music Club, Aero Club and Jeev Yantra - Robotics club. Also the astronomy club Celestial is one of its kind in the country.

I'll be paying 3.5 lakhs per year No other fee is included except the fact that you have to pay for your records every year and you could write the Hitsee for a deduction in fee or your 12th grade marks would be enough For people wrote the test they pay around 1.5-2.5 lakhs The only scholarship provided is hitsee

Course Curriculum Overview:

I loved physics and aerospace thereby I ended up choosing aerospace Another thing is we only have maths for the first two years in our college They could improve the faculty quality But they do give us several seminars workshops etc to improve our experience and knowledge for the real world

The facultys in the college are really very very good and student friendly. They are well experienced faculties. All the facultys are from IITs . And most of the facultys are from abroad which they are very brilliant. The aerospace department is very very good in this college. They conduct one Mid sem exam and other internal exams for DSA components. The best faculty is Prof.Hariprasad from aerospace department. As per me there is no bad faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Aerospace in my college is the best course in the entire B.tech, with good faculty and labs. I choose this Aerospace because I was interested in Aircrafts and spacecrafts. Our college updates the curriculum every year as per the industry needs. They have implemented python coding in curriculum for aerospace too They exams will be for 100 marks for 3 hours , which is more than enough time.

I think the faculty student ratio is around 1:5 . The faculty student relationship is very good and the faculty are very friendly as well. They are very easy going as well. All of the faculty are very likeable as well as provide us with opportunities to work on . We have 2 important exams per semester and they exam difficulty is moderate. The course is very relevant

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placement from end of 6th semester . Many companies such as PWC , skyroot, fluiddyn are the Aerospace companies that visited the campus for placements. Highest package is around 8 lakhs and 18/30 students got placement offers. My plans after getting a degree are to go for higher studies probably in USA or europe

The faculty of the campus are good there are some teachers that prefer hindi to be spoken more and some are biased to students from the native state and have given more attention to them. Exams have 2 phase in a single semester Mid term exam(MTE) and end term exam(ETE) and between then We have CAs that are frequent and are easy the CAs are subjective based wile the ETE and MTE are objective MCQ based apart from this they are Programme Orientation classes where they tell more in depth about the course and the feild linked with it and soft skills which gives more importance to public speaking.

Campus Life:

There are 2 main events held every year namely a large scale traditional event for the festival of Gokulashtami and the other is a campus wide fest called anokha with various activities held for the students. The campus provides a large library with access to a large variety of textbooks and material. The classrooms are provided with a projector. Certain classrooms also come equipped with multiple charging plug points on every bench. The campus offers a variety of sports and every student is allowed to try out for any sport they may be interested in. The campus also offers a huge variety of clubs which range from sport to a racing team which builds their own automobiles.

Faculty:

The faculty and student relationship varies from branch to branch. But personally in the aerospace engineering department most of the faculty are not very approachable. A large number of students tend to avoid the faculty. We personally dislike our class advisor as he led us to believe he was approachable and would help us in a time of need but we soon found out that it was all false. There are 2 exams per semester which are the mid semester exams and the end semester exams respectively and they tend to be extremely difficult for no reason at all.

Internships Opportunities:

Internships are introduced to students from 2nd year of their graduation. There are various types of internship programmes in IIT Bombay. Like, i. Department internships or projects: Departments often have projects ongoing where they require help from students. Orientations and interviews are conducted by that internship staff and enthus are taken for their personal experience and interest. ii. Research internships: In general, professors offer research internships in various disciplines. iii. Semester exchange program: This is a program where students can finish their semester in other international universities by applying with eligible information. and so on.. Companies also offer internships during semester breaks for students to work with the companies to get some interactions and some information about the work.

Faculty:

Faculty does look after every individual with the help of teaching assistants. We are provided the mails of professors of respective courses, in case if we find any problem with anything we can mail to the respective course instructor. Coming to the marking schemes and exam systems, every course has its own marking scheme which is informed on the first lecture of that course. And the exams are conducted in midsems and endsems with quizzes or assignments or both in the middle of the course completion which are also informed by the instructor earlier enough. The difficulty in the exams are mostly moderate.

Full fee structure for a year is a total of 375000 and now I'm in 3rd year the price for new admissions has increased, that isn't the case for my batch, i don't have any scholarship, and all my batchmates follow the same fee structure as we don't have different domains in our degree, to my knowledge my course doesn't have any SC/ST either

Course Curriculum Overview:

very hard course compared to others, even the schedule is more tight then normal, the curriculum is just based on our educational system and nothing is really preparing us for the real world, there are lots of areas that need improvement, like trying to make students actually enjoy stuff, exams are too frequent

Ques. How is Hindustan University for aerospace engineering?

● Top Answer By Anita Mukherjee on 08 Apr 21

Ans. One of my friends studies at Hindustan University. So, I know a little bit about the institute.  Hindustan University is recognized as a great platform for Aerospace Engineering. But the institute owes its reputation to the students who go out of their way to excel in academics without much help from the institute. According to my friend’s experience, the institute does not offer support of any kind, be it lab equipment, leniency in attendance, or time. The institute charges high fines for low attendance. It also has a dress code for the laboratory which is quite uncomfortable. According to authority, it is for the protection of the students. However, there are either computer-related laboratory works or lectures, so there is actually no need for uncomfortable uniforms.  Also, students are not allowed to use most of the equipment in the laboratory. According to authorities, it could be potentially dangerous.  Overall, at Hindustan University you won’t have many facilities, placement offers, or any kind of support. So, it would be better to opt for other options.Read more

Ques. Is it worthwhile to join aerospace engineering in IIEST, Shibpur formerly known as BESU?

● Top Answer By Yogita Taneja on 26 Feb 21

Ans. One of my elder brothers has completed his B.E degree in Aerospace from BESU, Shibpur.  As per him, Aerospace Engineering is the youngest Department and lacks of proper infrastructure. He also mentioned the poor planning, and except for some professors, other teachers do not have even the knowledge about what they are teaching. However, professors with proper subject knowledge are just awesome; rather, they are the coolest professors in this institute.  Additionally, the positive thing about this institute is that all the professors have a logical mindset. They are always prepared to do any sort of experimentation related to the course. They are always ready to implement any practicable criticism that may approach their way to research. Moreover, the term “worthwhile” is much related to campus recruitment. Considering this, my elder brother honestly told me that if a student wants to engage with Aerospace Engineering, it is better than going for a higher study. This is so because the institute does not provide any job opportunity after completing M.Tech. Aerospace Engineering is a new stream in India and if you wants to establish in this field, then it is better to try foreign universities. It is because India still not have a good infrastructure for the development of its own aerospace industry. Besides, the private organisations that offer a job in India are comparatively very low than Russia, Germany and France. The only sole organisation is Hindustan Aeronautics, and it does not have any competitors. Thus, the student must choose to study Aerospace Engineering very wisely, and they must analyse future job perspectives first.Read more

Ques. Is Amity University the best for aerospace engineering?

● Top Answer By Tanushree Chakraborty on 07 May 21

Ans. One of my friends studied aerospace engineering at Amity University, so let me share his experiences about the college and also the true facts about Amity University. Amity University offers two programs in Aerospace - BTech in Aerospace Engineering and a Dual degree program ( Integrated BTech + MTech). There are very few experienced faculty members in both of these departments. They are not very active and supportive. The course curriculum is well designed, however, the teaching methodology is not very impressive. The department is very strict about the attendance of students. The students need to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance. The department debarred the students who fail to attain 75% attendance in any subject. The aerospace department is separated from the Amity School of Engineering and technology and thus the students miss out on most of the events and programs. The student crowd is huge at Amity. There are various spots of the student crowd such as Domino, CCD, Small market, Salons, etc. huge events are being organized for students. Categories Aerospace Engineering at Amity Course Fee 9.20 lakh Placement Percentage 30-40% Highest CTC 10-13 LPA Average CTC 4-5 LPA Recruiting Companies Rockwell, Wipro, Indigo, Spice JET, Tech Mahindra, etc. The campus placement is not good in the aerospace department. Either you will be selected in Defence or any IT company. There are no internship opportunities available. You will hardly get a package ranging from INR 4-5 LPA. The course fee is also high in respect to the placement given. The course curriculum is mainly theoretical and very less practical. You should try for another better college for doing Aerospace rather than in Amity.Read more

Ques. Which one is better: aerospace engineering in IIT Kanpur, aerospace engineering in IIT Madras, mechanical engineering IIT BHU, or ECE in IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Lovish Bajaj on 21 Jun 24

Ans. I am a student of B.Tech Aerospace at IIT Madras. IIT Madras is a top engineering institution in India, and a degree from here can easily land you an offer to complete your higher education in Ivy League colleges (if you are among the top 10% in your batch). You may even land a job offer at prestigious institutions like ISRO once you graduate.  Here is a comparison among IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras and IIT BHU: Parameters IIT Madras Aerospace IIT Kanpur Aerospace (2024, Phase 1 placements) IIT BHU Mechanical IIT BHU Electronics NIRF 2023 Engineering Ranking 1 4 15 15 Highest CTC 2023 INR 66.26 LPA - INR 91.19 LPA INR 50 LPA Average CTC - INR 20.1 LPA INR 21.95 LPA INR 29.56 LPA Median CTC 2023 INR 14.10 LPA INR 17.7 LPA INR 18.12 LPA INR 30 LPA Top Recruiters HUL, ISRO, DRDO, and other aviation companies. Eaton, GE, Airbus, Honeywell, ISRO, L&T , etc.  Maruti, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, etc. Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Bosch, etc.  It is evident from the following data that in terms of placements, the Mechanical and Electronics branches of IIT BHU are better. But if you have the slightest interest in Aerospace Engineering, IIT Madras will open plenty of opportunities for you in this sector. If research/higher studies interest you, IIT Madras is the best option due to its superior reputation. You’ll get to work at some of the best organizations like HUL, ISRO, and DRDO. Moreover, you’ll be exposed to world-class infrastructure, and some of the best professors.  So if you have an interest in Aerospace Engineering, I would suggest you opt for IIT Madras over all the other options. Read more

Ques. Which is better to opt, aerospace engineering in IIT Madras or CSE in NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Aditi Goswami on 30 Mar 23

Ans. Anyone who has the option of choosing IIT Madras must without further thinking grab the opportunity. IIT Madras is Ranked the No.1 Engineering college for the past few subsequent years. Joining IIT Madras will let you change your branch based on your CGPA IIT Madras has excellent culture and peer groups and fairs much better than NIT Trichy in this aspect. The level of competition at IIT Madras is higher and thus you will grow continuously unlike NIT where you will already be among the toppers The plethora of opportunities and exposure at IIT Madras is incomparable to that at NIT Trichy. My friend was a graduate student of Automotive Engineering (Engineering Design) from IIT Madras but ended up with a career in Data Science and Algorithmic Trading. Thus every engineer irrespective of his branch should be proficient in at least one programming language. Choose your college wisely as it’s responsible for shaping and steering your career.Read more
