  • As Kharagpur is not a city, I cannot enjoy city life as much as I want.
  • Mess food will always be not good. It’s totally different taste from what I used to eat at my home.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose Computer Science because of the opportunities and placements offered by the college and the industry demand. Labs teach us to face real-world situations in a cool way without any problems. Teachings from professors are not always reliable we should learn from outside too. We have two exams per semester i.e Mid and End.

Class Size : 140Course Fees : INR 300000 per year

Placement Experience :

In the third year, generally, students are eligible for campus placements. We can start internships in our second year if we want. We get Google, Microsoft, and Wipro-like companies for placements. Last year 2.5 cpa was the highest package and 24 lakhs average package according to the academic section. If I get a good placement I will take that or I will do a masters

Fees and Financial Aid :

I have a total fee of approximately three lakhs for two semesters which include tution,hostel,mess and all other stuff. We need maximum other ten thousand if we want to buy other study stuff. MCM scholarship is available for students. We can become Teaching assistants if we want to earn and too only in 4th or 5th year.

Campus Life :

We have three fests in total.i.e, Showrya(game fest), Kshitij(tech fest) and Spring fest(cultural fest). College provides all sort of clubs such as dance, music, drama, anime,etc. You can see every type of club. Games are also played a lot on our campus. We have lot of tournaments of campus. We also have NSS,NSO,NCC.

Admission :

We should qualify in JEE Advanced and get a good rank for computer science in IIT Kharagpur. After the exam we have apply for it on JOSAA.In OBC you should get 156 rank for IIT Kgp Computer Science. Chemistry would be relatively easy compared to Physics semester. Should improve in Mathematics physics and chemistry.

IIT KGP is amazing!!

Placement Experience:

Students are prepared for placements right from the third semester. Indusrrial training is provided to us and engineering industries like L&T, Bhel, IRS and HAL among others which are in full swing are among the colleges that hires IIT KGP students with an average package of no less than 15-18 lakhs yearly.

IIT Kharagpur : A very well executed institution which helps the students grow and excel in life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well developed and the major areas of learning are adequately addressed. It has prepared students for practice as well as for further education. I wanted to point at such aspects of teaching design that need to be developed : offerings of practical projects and a greater focus on interactive teaching methods. Exams are scheduledd but may prove to need extra assistane for comprehension of some of the contents.

Reality of Jis college of engineering

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible at 3rd year 6th sem. Though before that you can do internship or freelancing which will increase the weight of your profile. The percentage of student getting placement is around 60-70% and the average package is around 4-5lakhs per annum. The highest package got by a student previous year was around ?10lakhs per annum.

The course curriculum is not that different from other colleges. At the beginning or 1 st semester we are made to complete the bridge course which basically includes stuff we read in classes 11 and 12. But then also they can't teach properly the already read topics.
