The faculties in avani are highly supporting and play a crucial role in shaping the academic and creative minds. Some of them maintain a good relationship woth students other than the faculty student ship. So friendly that they often came join to our lunches and goes out with us. The ratio of student and faculty is 1:9.which is a good ratio to us. Among them soumini maam is the hod who is very calm and friendly but deadly one. But she is admired but everyone for her leadership and supportive nature. William sir and varun sir is like a elder brother to us they are well known architects too they are so supporting faculties and they are always available and so engaging in classes. Vishnu is also my favorite who is so friendly but so clever one. Sanjays practical thought and athiras patience and detailwd guidance is so helpful to us. And there are so many faculties whom i wanna add. Their collective mentorship and coordination provides a well rounded educational experience in acadamics and as well as personal growth.

Campus Life:

There are only few programs which is cultural in our college which is kooth conducted by the student Council and college. And there is a a cultural event to support the cultural arts like kuchipudi bharathanatyam... Which is called laasyam. And only one sports event in an year. College campus life is boring because of only 300 students in the college if you have a gf its gonna be interesting tho. There are so many clubs like music club, movie club, dance club etc..they often do conduct some in a week. There is a library which js sp helpful to us all in so many ways in life and in experiencing architecture and to study and it is so cool we can work calmly there.

1 faculty to 10 students, so the faculty to student ratis good, and the people, one faculty I really like, his name is Sameer sir, he teaches construction and working drawing subject, he covers every topic way before the time, and also incorporates various study tours to sites for better understanding and knowledge. Faculties are very helpful in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is can be really complex because there are many subjects, but it can be fun when you're really focused and interested, Currently I have 11 subjects in 3rd year, but you have to be really good at time management, in order to succeed or get good grades and prepare a decent portfolio/resume for a better future/career.

Faculty:

There are basically 2-3 faculties for 40-50 students in a class. The relationship between us students and the faculties is different among everyone. Its kinda biased in short. U only get attention and good enough crits if u are liked by the faculty. Everyones approachable if we willing to. The facultied i liked are ar.Toshi, ar.Diwesh, ar.Deepak, ar.Jagmohan. Most of these are really good at teaching us stuff and make us learn new things and are really friendly towards students. The ones i dont like are ar.Kapil, ar.Abhishek, ar.Anubha, ar.Sagar. These ones are way too much biased and dont know how to teach stuff well nor do they have interest maybe for their owns reasons. There are 2 exams per semester....Mid sem and end sem exams..Mid sems are pretty easy if u have thoroughly read the topics and end sems depends some times easy sometimes difficult or sometimes mid. The course sometimes goes offtrack and slows down the pace which makes it a little difficult for us to cope up with but we do it anyways.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because i like to design and draw stuff. In college they dont really teach stuff going around in the present..More like things practiced in the past...we are doing rock cut architecture in building contestruction..So yes that old. We just have to do our researchs if we want to anything happening. They should teach more new stuff happening around in this field so know more about it which can help us study the markets and how to earn better. And the class timings are way too much like 9 30 am to 5pm is too much for the brain to handle. Also the exam frequency is doable but the question papers shouldnt be so lengthy could be of lesser marks.

Placement Experience:

For architecure departments, usually there are no placements, but since this Institute is autonomous, they have startes conducting placements drive. Last year 10/12 students were placed in good firms all over banglore, pune, kolhapur. I plan on applying to different firms all over Maharashtra and would also hope to get placement via college since the packages that are offered are good. Placement percentage is anywhere between 12-15%. The highest package offered was around 5,40,000, average package for a architecture student would be-around 3lakhs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The year wise fee for b.arch generally ranges in between 96000-100000.(tution fee) and it includes all other miscellaneous charges. This structure is for general category students. For the First and second year I paid around 96000, third year paid around 98000, for the fourth year it was 100000,and for the final year itvwas around 96000. For architecture the faculties are very good and for 20 students there are 2 faculties for each sessional subject, and 1 for theory. There are more than 10 faculties in our branch, b.arch contains 5 year course for which there are 20 seats in each year, adding up makes it 100, and every teacher knows each and every student very well, they know the weakness and strength of the student. As for my favourites Asit ku. Rout sir , siddharth panigrahi sir are very knowledgeable and they teach us very gently, they plant very complicated terminologies very gently in our head and that makes our understanding more clear. They teach very difficult terms at very ease from breaking up the basics, and particularly these teachers are always ready to help out us. There are 2 semester examination odd and even and 2 midsems in a year. The examinations are easy if you go through the syllabus and the questions are from the syllabus only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Architectural design studio was the only inspiration for me to choose Architecture, the subject deals with the applications of the ideas we have in our head to a practical form, our curriculum is based on the real world applications , we deal with construction, electricity, acoustics, water supply and sanitation, history, contemporary architecture, interior designing, landscaping, climatology etc which are all based on real world applications. Examinations happens when its almost the end of the syllabus so we usually dont face any difficulty appearing for it. The difficulty level of the Examination is easy to moderate for a student who pays attention in the classes, even if you listen in the class and memorize it and dont study afterwards you'll score good. It's that accurate.

Ques. Is NIT Calicut good for architecture? What can be said about its campus life and placement services?

● Top Answer By Tina Chand on 26 Mar 21

Ans. One of my friends has studied B Arch from NIT Calicut in the batch of 2020. In his view, the following facts are highlighted to help a student get a brief overview of this institute. Placement If you consider this institute for the placement opportunities, then it can be stated that L&T is the main recruiting company for Architecture. Thus, this stream has the least placement record, approximately 60%, compared to the other engineering branches. In the following, a brief overview of the placement facts of NIT Calicut is highlighted. Criteria NIT Calicut Placement statistics 80% Highest CTC 49.75 LPA Lowest CTC 10 LPA Average CTC 15 LPA Recruiter Came in 2020 400+ Number of Placement (2020) 647 College Life This is similar to the life that is shown in the movie 3 Idiots. You have to please your respective teachers, or you have to be extraordinary in some subjects such as Design and Art, to earn more score. You have to be strong emotionally so that you can face all the struggles easily. Thus, this 5-year course will teach you to face all types of real-life confronts in the field of Architecture. Besides, travel is a compulsory part of this engineering branch. Ques. Which is better for studying architecture in India: SPA Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, or IIT Roorkee?

● Top Answer By Richa on 03 Jul 24

Ans. It is better to choose a college with an IIT tag because it will give you security regarding placements. IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee both have a good placement record, and their IIT tag makes them a better choice for Architecture students. The NIRF 2023 Ranking in Architecture of IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur is 1st and 3rd respectively, whereas the ranking of SPA Delhi is 5th.  IITs offer a lot of facilities which aren’t offered by other top architecture colleges in India. They have extensive libraries, best sports facilities, clubs and societies, etc. If you like extracurriculars as much as studies, IIT Roorkee and IIT KGP will provide you with world-class facilities for the same.  Apart from design and architecture, you’ll be able to study a host of other subjects and varied electives at IIT R and IIT KGP. This will place you in a much better position academically.  Many new professors have joined the Architecture department at IIT Roorkee in the past few years. They are young and have a modern perspective which resonates with today’s youth. IIT Roorkee has the best and the biggest hostels compared to any other college, and everyone can avail a single room for the entire course duration. Every hostel room at IIT Roorkee has access to the fastest internet speed through LAN, without any limitations. Here is a comparison between SPA Delhi, IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur: PARTICULARS IIT ROORKEE IIT KHARAGPUR SPA DELHI NIRF 2023 Architecture Ranking 1 3 5 India Today Architecture Ranking 2023 2 1 4 Placement Percentage (B.Arch) 90% 71% 77% Average Package (B.Arch) INR 18.34 LPA INR 16 LPA INR 7.2 LPA After considering all the factors, I would suggest you choose IIT Roorkee for your B.Arch. Ques. Which college should I choose for a B.Arch. under the NIT/SPA?

● Top Answer By Shivani Behera on 31 Aug 21

Ans. Firstly a hearty congratulations to you for scoring a good rank in JEE Main. However, it is quite difficult to get a seat at SPA Delhi in this rank. The 2nd best option can be SPA Bhopal. Moreover, SPA Vijayawada is relatively newer and cannot be trusted. I have friends studying at both Bhopal and Vijayawada, from what I've heard, Bhopal is a better option. SPAs are purely design institutes and thus the exposure would be greater.  Since your chances at SPA D are quite on edge, you can instead look for the following colleges in order of preference:  NIT Nagpur> NIT Bhopal> SPA Bhopal> NIT Jaipur> SPA Vijayawada and so on. If you want to go for NITs, choose the one with better infrastructure, weather, and a diverse crowd. There are many other good institutes as well but do your proper research and take the right decision for yourself. Read more

Ques. Should I join IIT Kharagpur for B.arch?

● Top Answer By Senjuti Gupta on 23 Mar 23

Ans. There are two aspects to the question. You asked. Is the bachelor of architecture course at IIT Kharagpur good? To answer this part, I will say with certainty that IIT Kharagpur is an excellent institute. However, as far as architecture is concerned, your first choice should always be the elite schools of architecture like SPA or CEPT. This is mainly because IITs are known for their technology and not architecture. Should a person who's only interested in physics and math, go for architecture or not? If you are genuinely interested in physics and math, then this will be one of your strengths and will prove to be useful in the journey of architecture. Architecture requires problem-solving skills apart from artistic skills. There are many students who are average in drawing but have excellent ideas and designs. To broaden your knowledge about art and architecture you can read books.Read more

Ques. i have completed civil engineering diploma.. how i join b. arch in sir jj college of architecture

● Top Answer By Riyansh Jha on 22 Mar 23

Ans.  you can pursue Bachelor in Architecture even after completing a diploma in Civil Engineering. The scope for Architecture is increasing day by day in India. The Bachelor in Architecture course is related to the design of bridges, multipurpose buildings, industrial areas, residential area etc. Owing to many ongoing dam and bridge projects in India, there is a huge demand for Architecture students. Since you have completed a Diploma in Civil Engineering, B.Tech in Architecture is the most logical option for you. The candidate who has completed a diploma in civil engineering is eligible for the architecture engineering course through the lateral entry scheme offered by the Engineering colleges in India. Under this scheme, you are eligible for admission for the second year in the Engineering course provided that you have either completed  Diploma In Engineering  B.Sc course For you it’s the former case, and thus you can avail the lateral entry scheme and get admission in Architecture. Now specifically talking about Sir JJ College of Architecture, some key points regarding the eligibility criteria are For B.Arch, you should have passed (10+3) Diploma in Engineering/ Technology with Mathematics as a compulsory subject Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% in NATA (i.e. 80/200) If you belong =to SC/ST category, 5% relaxation is offeredRead more

Ques. Is MANIT Bhopal a good college for a B.Arch?

● Top Answer By Aarti Ahuja on 11 Nov 23

Ans. MANIT Bhopal is a good college for Architecture. But a college completely devoted to Architecture and Planning is a better choice. At such colleges, one has access to a strong alumni base. Apart from that, we get the right outlook for the field and a central library full of new architecture books. These colleges have digital labs with new architecture software. The crowd over there is completely devoted to the field of Architecture. These colleges organize dedicated seminars and guest lectures on Architecture and Planning. It is a huge boost to one’s self-esteem as an Architect in making. At NITs/state engineering colleges, our engineering friends receive placement one year ahead. But, one has an almost negligible chance of campus placement. SPA/CEPT won’t offer placements either, but this won’t be as demoralizing. Their strong alumni network allows us the chance to work in a firm through a senior’s recommendation. Thus, I would recommend you opt for SPA, CEPT, or other Architecture colleges for your B.Arch.Read more

Ques. How is the B.Arch. course at MNIT Jaipur?

● Top Answer By Souvick Gupta on 10 Oct 23

Ans. You should opt for architecture only if your interest lies in this field. It shouldn’t be a backup option for you. This is because the field involves Arts, Science, Maths, and Humanities, all together. You’ll do well in this field only if you like architecture. As far as MNIT Jaipur is concerned, it isn’t the best place for architectural studies. They’ll offer you limited practical exposure, and the curriculum hasn’t been updated for long. The infrastructure of this department is pretty average, they don’t organize any educational trips, and only a few faculty members are good. I wouldn’t recommend MNIT for your B.Arch. Instead, try to look for some better alternatives.Read more
