Most of the faculty members in our college are top rated with phds from global universities. One of the key advantages of studying in a primary IIT is that the academic exposure you receive is at least best in the country if not at par with the best in the world. The faculty-to-student ratio is not so good with classes at least in the first year having around 90 students. Most of the professors don't know their students personally. Although if you are in the top 10% of the class you will be in the good books of the teacher but for the average Joe your teacher most probably won't even know your existence. But that does not mean you cannot approach your teachers personally in their office. But The frequencies is limited. Some faculties are best in the world with R HOD of electrical department Mr Chandan Chakraborty being an ex MIT professor and did his PhD from the University of Tokyo Japan as an exchange student. So yes studying in an IIT has its own benefits along with the cons

The faculty and student ratio is nice. IIT is appropriate. Proof are highly qualified and talented but some can't reach and some can. They are connected about their own research and not to much involved with students.

In terms of qualification they are high educated. For each subject there are atleast 5 professors I think according to my knowledge in first year. They have teacher assistants which help professor in interacting with a large section of 200 students. Still sometimes it becomes less interactive class and sometimes we can't understand professor

In the first year we had like 1:200 for theory classes, and 1:50, 1:100 for labs. The faculties and the professor are very experienced. Most of the Theory classes were taught just with the slides projecting on the the board. Slides will be sent to us to our college emails. There will be Teaching assistants in the Tutorial classes helping us out solving tutorial problems. We can reach out to them at anytime. Directly to their department or through emails.

Faculty-to student ratio is 10:72 for first 3 years than after that dual degree students seprate according to their courses. Each course has minimum 5 subjects and each subject has 2 faculty and also their are labs in which course professor along with Teaching Assistant (TA) take our classes. Faculty is really awesome but grading is bit hard. Also after every semester there is a feedback form in which we can tell about professors teaching improvement. We can interact with teachers any time personally in their office or through mail if we have any doubt.

the faculty to student ratio in my department is 1:160. it highly impacts my learning experience..I don't think the professors teach effectively. they might have very good qualification but they lack teaching skills. most of them are not helping and hence not approachable.
