- The campus is very beautiful, it is lush green and very less polluted as it is not in a city. It is always clean. The climate is also pleasant. There are many hostels and in some hostels you also get a single room.
- The faculties and senior are also good. They always provide very useful insight for our future. They help us in exploring more and more career option like tech, core, consulting etc.
Dislikes
- The course curriculum is quite outdated. It helps to build up your basics but has very little use at industry level. Also in some departments like elecetrical the grading system is quite harsh which maks is difficult to get a good grade.
- The girls to boys ratio in our college is quite low. But you get a chance to interact to them and hence it is not a big problem unless you are looking to get into a relationship.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science because my JEE rank allowed me to take it and I had some interest in it compared to other courses. The course demands very good level of logic and thinking skills, thus you develop a good sense solving problems. But at the same time the curriculum is quite outdated which makes it of very little use in the industry and real world. They can introduce courses which align with the current real world technologies. Two exams are held every semester ant the questuions are mostly form what is discusses in the calss.
Internships Opportunities :
We are supposed to apply for interns in our fifth and semester which we can do in the summer vacations of our third year. All kind of companies visit our campus, tech (google, microsoft, samsung), non-tech(BCG , Mckinsey, ameriacn express). Various round of selection are held.
Placement Experience :
The first placement drive is held in the seventh semester, where various companies come to the college and interview students. A total of 1353 offers were made int the 2023-24 session. from each department 70 to 80 percent students get placed. I will sit for placements and prepare to get a job.
Fees and Financial Aid :
I am a general student so I pay around 3 lakh a year. 2 lakh is tuition and around 1 lakh is hostel fee for a year(which is 2 semesters). SC/ST students dont have to pay any tuition fee and only need to pay the hostel fee. If the family income is less than 5 lakh then you have to pay only 33 thousand as tuition fee and it the income is less than 1 lakh then you have to pay no tuition fee at all. There are various scholarships for underprivilaged students, like MCM(merit cum means), and various other scholarships based on departments and family income.
Campus Life :
Two fests are held in our college, spring fest and kshitij tech fest. A lot people come to our campus during those days and we get to socialize a lot. We have a very large central libvrary, thousands of books and journals are available there which you can get issued. The classroms are high-tech and fully air conditioned. There are various sports facilities in our campus. You can play almost any sport on the campus. Infact each hostel has its own cricket, football and basketball gorund. We also have a gym and a swimmiing pool as well. There are various clubs and sozieties in our college, like business clun, dramaics club etc.
Hostel Facilities :
I live in hostel. We have all the necessary facilities like electricity, water and internet. The food in the mess is descent, it can be bad some days. The hostels are present in campus and every student is required to saty ina hostel. The hostel fee is 40000 for one semester.
Admission :
I chose this college beacuse my jEE rank allowed me to take it. I wanted CSE branch and i couldnt get it in any other better IIT like bombay or delhi therefore i chose this one. You need to qualify the JEE advanced exam and then sit in the josaa councelling where you will get your college based on you JEE rank. the cutoff for CSE department in my college was aroung 650 all india rank.
Faculty :
There are enough faculties int he college. The ratio is good and sufficient for all purposes. The faculties are very approachable and never deny to help us.They are all very skilled in their areas. Personally I liked our discrete structures proffessor Dr. Pawan Goyal. Other than him my firt year mechanics teacher, Dr. Aritra Chatterjee was also very nice. There are actually no faculties that I did not like. Two exams are held every semester, the mid-semester exam and end-semester exam. The question are mostly from what is taught in the class. The course curriculum is quite outdated which makes it of less use int he industry.
