- The labs stole my heart i was always amazed of the phyics lab and chem lab and after ding some experiments i was very happy
- Infrastructure is best as we have organised campus with food eateries and canteens .
Dislikes
- Getting no leaves for preparation between exams is the worst thing happening here
- The teaching is very bad by some of the research oriented professors.

Course Curriculum Overview:
I choose mining engineering because I love this profession as it is composed of very interesting challanges everyday. curriculum covers almost everything that a students needs to learn and implement it in the field

- Green Environment - The campus is always clean and is full of greeneries.
- Huge Campus Size - It's a benefit to have such a huge campus we can find everything within the campus.

- Placement Opportunities - Day by day it is decreasing
- Mess food - It is okay but as a vegetarian I was a little less convinced.
Placement Experience:
The placement of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is pretty good but it depends on which course you are pursuing, some course offers really good packages which some doesn't. We all know why CSE, MnC, ECE, EE are popular courses.
Likes
- Environment is very calm and green. Everytime youfeel lonely environment is your all time partner.
- Seniors are amazing. They are really helping in nature. You always have a person to discuss and get solutions for your problems
Dislikes
- Sometimes the TAs are little partial to someone of same cultural background. That's disturbing sometimes. But with time you are smart enough to manage such small problems.
- The culture is sometimes toxic to students particularly during elections. During Hall days organized during elections there is so much of alchohol intake.
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for campus placement in the fourth year. There are so many companies visiting every year and about 60-70 percent of students get placed as there are many students who pursue higher studies or prepare for government jobs. The highest package offered during the 2023-24 session was approximately 2 crores and the average package is 25 lacs. My plan after the degree is to sit for a quantitative finance placement.

- College life helps me to becoming a extrovert.

- 75 percent attendance criteria is very bad.
- Faculty are top notch. But, they lag somewhere in teaching
Placement Experience:
My college placement is really good. Most of us will get their placement in college. If someone think he deserves better than college placement. Then, he apply for off-campus placement. Approx 80-90% are getting their job in college.
Likes
- Largest Campus around 2100 acres, with greenary through out the whole campus. Even in the day of scorching heat, the campus roads are covered by a lot of trees on both sides.
- Culturally, Technologically well-cultured institute. Also in the field of sports, the students show their amazing talent. Every year in Inter IIT competitions, our institute stays within top 3 positions in all - Sports, Cultural, Technology.
Dislikes
- Nowadays, senior-junior bonding is getting decreased compared to earlier times beacuse of less interaction.
Placement Experience:
The final year students are eligible for placements. For B.Tech students, it is 7th semester and for Dual Degree students it is 9th semester. There are a lot of companies like Google, Microsoft, Uber, Sprinklr etc. visited the college and around 1000-1300 offers are made per year. Around 70%-80% students get placed. Highest package varies from 1 cr to 2 cr and average pakages around 20 lakhs. My plan is to do PhD after getting the degree.

- Well maintained infrastructure , with all basic facilities like washing machine water cooler and geyser
- Very supporting senior,they will be available for your anytime they will share their contact with you .
Dislikes
- You will have to study by your own.Proff will just read slide in classes.
- In summer time it is very difficult to stay in hostel as cooler are not allowed in hotels
Placement Experience:
From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placement.Many top companies like Amazon Google Microsoft.facebook visit our college.Highest package is 2Cr+. Average package is highest for CSE .70 percentage students placed.

- The campus is the biggest in all over India with 2200 acres.
- Most important are the networks and connection I made helped me a lot in my placements and internship

- The area is very remote it is not easy to get things urgently
- The weather is the worse especially in summers due to humidity and 42 degrees heat
Placement Experience:
You are eligible for placement in your final year. Around 500 companies visit each year including Microsoft ,Google, Adobe, Meta, Apple, Goldman Sachs JPMC etc . The highest placement was 2cr INR which was given by Optiver. Placement percentage is well above 90% for B.Tech students.

- IIT KGP is no doubt an brilliant college , things like its peer group make it even more better. Peer group plays an important role in personal development of an student.
- I was strongly involved in sports activities in campus throughout the year. And i interact with numerous people through events and while playing and i felt that people in IIT are quit studies except some students.
Dislikes
- All the staff is almost Bengali due to domination good faculties are teaching great minds , teaching can be made more interesting things are that worse some times that faculty don't understand their own slides.
- Teachers don't teach us they just come read slides and go. Almost no interactions with students. Every year placements getting worse and decreasing per year .
Placement Experience:
Students are eligible to sit in campus placement in their final year. Companies like nestle , britania , etc. Highest package was 33 lakh , average package was 17.96 and 68.75 % students got placed in 2023.

- College campus is elegant. Infrastructure is at the top.
- Some courses like CS ,PDS and DIY introduces you to current technologies of world.
Dislikes
- Although it is good,Mess food can be improved .
- The City Kharagpur outside IIT is underdeveloped.
Placement Experience:
After 6th semester,one become eligible for placements. Some prominent companies are Microsoft,Google and amazon. The highest package offered is 4 cr and lowest is 6-8 lakh. Placement percentage is nearly 100%. I will try to level up myself and go for higher studies.
Likes
- The overall peer group you get in IITs is just next level compared to other colleges. If you want to learn any new thing, you can get a senior or a batchmate who would be already good at it.
- The societies in IIT Kharagpur are ample in number and very well maintained. You can join join any society that interests you and then they'll help you go deeper.
Dislikes
- The hostels are pretty old. The rooms are pretty small to live in and study. The common washrooms are not that good and sometimes they smell really badly.
- As the peer group is pretty nice, you need to study pretty hard to maintain your grades and to get a good cgpa. Some professors teach things well but some don't. It becomes tough at times to comprehend things taught in the classroom.
Placement Experience:
The general placements of IITs is comparitively way better than other government and private colleges. Many companies come to recruit students. Even top companies such as Goldman Sachs, Apple come to IIT campuses. The placement takes place in two phases. The first phase starts around November - December and ends around early February. The second phase takes place during the summers. The average package of my branch i.e. Mechanical Engineering was 18 lakhs whereas the median package was 21 lakhs.
