Course Curriculum Overview :

IIT Kharagpur offers BTech in overall 36 branches which is largest in any single college in INDIA. IITKGP is known for its evergreen Mining branch offering a hansome median package of 17 lakh with highest of 54 lakh. The curriculum encourages the students to solve the real world problems. IITKGP has been involved in many studies which helped improve the conditions of workers in INDIA. Some courses need to be introduced such that majority of students can take privilege of like data science and machine learning. we have midsems and endsems in a semester along with class tests and lab tests.

Class Size : 90Course Fees : INR 300000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

The institute's CDC provides .Internships are offered by flipkart amazon google. companies like flipkart offer to students. Generally students are asked to make successful a project on hand.Stipends are okay

Placement Experience :

After 6th semester,one become eligible for placements. Some prominent companies are Microsoft,Google and amazon. The highest package offered is 4 cr and lowest is 6-8 lakh. Placement percentage is nearly 100%. I will try to level up myself and go for higher studies.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fee is regulated by the government of india.There is no annual increase rate. Complete cost makes it to some 15 lakh including both tuition and hostel fee. We have government aided scholarships on the basis of annual income of a family.No tuition fee for families having annual income less than 100000 and 1/3rd of tution fee applicable for annual income between 1 lakh and 5 lakh. There are various posts like TA's through which one can earn money.The TA's get somewhat 25k to 30k of salary every month.

Campus Life :

Campus is so beautiful.There are trees and flowers everywhere ,appeals everyone who visited iitkgp. Seniors,collegues and classmates are very helpful.They help anyone wheather they are friend or not. There are two librarries having a capacity of 2k-3k students. All classrooms are equipped with AC and digital board. We have sports fields both inside halls and the one common to all with two large grounds each for cricket and football. 20-25 clubs and societies are there in various fields and interests.

Hostel Facilities :

Various Hostel rooms having table chair and balcony of both 2 people and three person type.Some hostels have personal bathrooms. Mess Food quality depends on the hostels. It is good in most of the halls. Hostels are alloted by the institute and are affordable.

Hostel Fee : INR 20000 per year

Admission :

PCM is necessary in Twelth with above 75% or top 20 percentile in twelth boards.Entrance exam is JEE ADVANCED which requires you to qualify JEE MAINS.Application form can be found on official website of jee adv and nta.Reservation is given to SC/ST ,OBC and EWS students.You can give Jee Main thrice and JEE Adv twice in consecutive years.

Faculty :

The Faculties are very much qualified, having PHD from prestigious universities in the world. Faculty to student ratio is 1:50. Except few,most of the faculties are very nice and approachable.They clear the smallest doubts in class with full consideration. You can also mail your doubts and they will respond surely. You will never be disrespected regarding doubts and they encourage to delve into the depth of subject. They will recommend references and study material to clear the concepts .

Review on Guru Nanak Institute of Technology from one year of college experience

Placement Experience:

Recession is going on since last few years and being a private college obviously that has affected placements in our college also. The current situation of placement is not really good. Among students from all branches which each may have like 150 students, only 20 something got placed on campus. It is said that companies like TCS, Capegemini, Wipro, Amazon, Zscaler etc comes to campus for hiring but most just come and don't hire. This year highest package was 26.5 lakhs by only 2 students from our department, CSE.

After 6 semester you will be eligible for on campus placement. But you can get internship offers earlier. The companies visited last year are Deltax, TCS research, zscalar, yellow class. Total 51 oncampus companies came last year. Highest package- 32lpa Avg package- 11.47lpa Last year placement percentage was 88.9% My plans after the degree are higher studies and masters.
