- Environment is very calm and green. Everytime youfeel lonely environment is your all time partner.
- Seniors are amazing. They are really helping in nature. You always have a person to discuss and get solutions for your problems
Dislikes
- Sometimes the TAs are little partial to someone of same cultural background. That's disturbing sometimes. But with time you are smart enough to manage such small problems.
- The culture is sometimes toxic to students particularly during elections. During Hall days organized during elections there is so much of alchohol intake.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is really very interesting. you get the opportunity to learn something which you are so much connected with i.e., soil, food, farmers, and much more. The curriculum is really interesting and exciting with so much practical knowledge. You get the opportunity to practically do the things you have studied about. So the approach is great. Although there are not so much of placements particularly due to this course but you have enough time to develop other skills on your own based on your interests. If you want to pursue higher studies you can consult with your professors. Talking about the areas of improvement, students should be motivated more to stick to this field because it is something that is really very crucial for our country's development. So more research companies should visit our campus. Exams and tests are really frequent due to short semesters (4 months).
Internships Opportunities :
There are so many internship opportunities so it is tough to list each and every company. One gets to sit in internships offered by the institute in 3rd year of the course. But there are so many opportunities outside campus that you can explore online or ask your seniors about. Also, you can do projects with different professors and gain experience as well as a Letter of Recommendation.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible for campus placement in the fourth year. There are so many companies visiting every year and about 60-70 percent of students get placed as there are many students who pursue higher studies or prepare for government jobs. The highest package offered during the 2023-24 session was approximately 2 crores and the average package is 25 lacs. My plan after the degree is to sit for a quantitative finance placement.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fee is 13.5 lacs. But if you belong to lower income category (< 5 lacs), you will get fee waiver; 2/3 of tuition fee i.e., 1 lac per semester will be reduced. Also there are so many scholarship opportunities provided by different banks, MNCs, MGOs and institute. So you don't need to worry about the fees just keep researching for it. In the first year you just need to join societies of your interest and develop skills, with time you get so many employment and internship opportunities.
Campus Life :
Campus life is very beautiful and full of opportunities. There are annual fests named Spring Fest, Kshitij, Shaurya sports fest and many small fests and summits like Global Entrepreneurship Summit where you get opportunity to meet great personalities and earn amazing cash prizes and merchandise. The library is one of the largest library of Asia. Talking about extra curriculum activities there are sports fest, Inter IIT, General Championship and societal activities.
Admission :
You need to qualify JEE Advanced examination for being eligible to apply for this course. You need to sit for JOSAA counseling. Talking about the general category, boys can get till 7-8k rank and girls can get till 15-16k rank in female (supernumerary) category.
Faculty :
Professors are really highly qualified. They have enough knowledge to satisfy a student's hunger. The teaching assistants are also great. They are hble enough to share their contact details so that you can mail your problems to them. Some of the professors are not so good at interacting with students but you always have an option to study from another professor if you don't understand anyone's language. While others are great at solving a student's doubt. So the thing is for some subjects studying in class is enough but for some you need to do self study. Sometimes the TAs don't check the papers nicely so you may have unsatisfaction with your marks.
