Likes

Green Environment - The campus is always clean and is full of greeneries.
Huge Campus Size - It's a benefit to have such a huge campus we can find everything within the campus.

Dislikes

Placement Opportunities - Day by day it is decreasing
Mess food - It is okay but as a vegetarian I was a little less convinced.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Basically in my first year i noticed that we have all most 7 to 8 months of classes per year. And there are 4 exams yearly for 2 semesters. 2 midsems and 2 endsems. There is a range of marks obtained by students and most of the subjects are relative grading.

Class Size : 1800Course Fees : INR 300000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

There is a lot of internship opportunity through this campus. The industry titans like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and many more come during the placement drive. From huge companies to new startups all wants IITians.

Placement Experience :

The placement of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is pretty good but it depends on which course you are pursuing, some course offers really good packages which some doesn't. We all know why CSE, MnC, ECE, EE are popular courses.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fee is 1 laks per year but there is fee waiver according to the caste and family income. If it is less than 5 lakh 67% of your tuition fee is waived. If it is less than 1 lakh 100% of your tuition fee is waived.

Campus Life :

A good infrastructure, a lot of opportunities to learn about every field whether it is sports, dance, music, entrepreneurship, dramatics or any other field you can think of, for each and every domain there are societies, clubs, and Cells are available to learn about it.

Admission :

The admission process to Indian Institute of Technology is through JOSAA Councelling. I guess it is already known by everyone. Once you clear jee advanced you have to go through the councelling process.

Faculty :

Actually very less professor are engaging in class. Most of them usually just come teach and go it doesn't matter if the students are listening or not. But the smartboard facilities are good and we get all the lecture pdfs which is helpful.

Review on Guru Nanak Institute of Technology from one year of college experience

Placement Experience:

Recession is going on since last few years and being a private college obviously that has affected placements in our college also. The current situation of placement is not really good. Among students from all branches which each may have like 150 students, only 20 something got placed on campus. It is said that companies like TCS, Capegemini, Wipro, Amazon, Zscaler etc comes to campus for hiring but most just come and don't hire. This year highest package was 26.5 lakhs by only 2 students from our department, CSE.

After 6 semester you will be eligible for on campus placement. But you can get internship offers earlier. The companies visited last year are Deltax, TCS research, zscalar, yellow class. Total 51 oncampus companies came last year. Highest package- 32lpa Avg package- 11.47lpa Last year placement percentage was 88.9% My plans after the degree are higher studies and masters.
