- NIMCET 2024 Counselling registrations have been started and the Round 1 Seat Allotment will be published on July 08, 2024. Candidates can complete online reporting and pay the half admission fee from July 09 to July 12.
- GATE CCMT Round 3 Seat Allotment Result is out for NIT Trichy MTech Admission 2024. The deadline for online admission (PI Reporting) by depositing the partial admission fee is July 06 - 10 (by 5:30 PM).

The entrance exam for MCA NITT is NIMCET . i got AIR 7 in NIMCET 2022 . There are 45 general seats for MCA and also there are category based reservation . The NIMCET exam is conducted in June and form filling date is tilll April of every year. Form fees for NIMCET is 2,500 for general and OBC. The syllabus for NIMCET is similar to JEE . The eligibility for NIMCET can be checked on official website .

- Too outside of the main city so we have to travel 15-20 km if we want to go to the main city

To take addmission in nit trichy civil branch - minimum percentile in jee mains is 98 percentile for other state general category student. My percentile in jee mains was 98.18 percentile. There is home State quota so 50% of seats will be reserved for tamil nadu Students.

No, you will not get CSE in NIT Trichy with a 10000 JEE main rank. No, with your percentile it will be difficult to get a seat at NIT Trichy. If you are a General or OBC category student then it will be very hard to get admitted at NIT Trichy. You will have a chance to get admitted at NIT Trichy only if you are an SC/ST student or you have a Tamil Nadu domicile certificate. Is it really hard to get into NIT Trichy for an average student?
It is not impossible to get into NIT Trichy or any top institution for an average student. I was an average student during school time and got a 7.6 CGPA in my 10th board examination. During my 12th boards, I worked hard and scored an astonishing 94.6%.
During my first attempt in JEE Mains, I got a 93.1 percentile. My score depressed me and I decided to prepare well for my second attempt. On my next attempt, I scored 98.120 percentile. It was a huge improvement for me.
Even though I had an OBC quota through which I got a seat at NIT Kurukshetra in an Electrical Engineering course, the point of this answer is that if I could’ve picked myself up and improved to such a great extent, even you can do so. However, I must warn you that for NIT Trichy you will have to work extremely hard.
Can we transfer from IIT to NIT in the 2nd year?
Hello, my name is Junaid Khan. I've completed a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from NIT Trichy. As per my knowledge, it is not possible to transfer from an IIT to an NIT in the 2nd year. One of my friends has just completed his 1st year at IIT Madras. Due to personal issues, he wanted to transfer from his IIT to an NIT in the 2nd year, but he could not.
Both NIT and IIT have limited seats and a strict admission process for their courses. Also, any NIT college in India does not offer Lateral entry. It doesn't matter whether you have completed a 3-year Diploma course, but admission into NIT from 2nd year is not possible anyway.
However, in IIT one can opt for BTech directly from 2nd year through lateral entry. Candidates who wish to transfer from IIT to NIT, have no other option but to waste one year. Students then need to sit for the JEE Main exam again and register themselves for NIT admissions.
