NIT Trichy MCA Course Highlights
- The MCA program at NIT Trichy is a three-year, full-time course.
- The MCA program has a total of 105 credits.
- Students will have to undertake project work throughout the 6th semester.

NIT Trichy MCA Eligibility and Selection Criteria
- Candidates must have 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in a Bachelor’s degree of Full Time 3 years duration from a recognized University with Mathematics / Statistics / Business Mathematics as one of the subjects in any one semester/year (5% relaxation in case of SC/ ST candidates).
- Candidates appearing for the qualifying examinations are also eligible to appear for the test. However, they will have to furnish proof of having passed the qualifying examination, with 60% marks, at the time of counselling/ admission.
- Admission to the NITT MCA program is determined by the rank obtained in the NIMCET.
- Candidates that qualify must then apply for the Counselling/Seat Allotment process

Course Curriculum Overview:
Curriculum is good . It is planned according to the real life requirements . All the core subject are covered before the internship season starts which is very helpful . There will be 2 cycle test ( 20 marks each ) and final exam contributing 50 marks in the semester end .

- Seperate department for MCA. Many other NITs offering mca course doesn't have their own department
- Lots of opportunities within the department itself other than fests that are organised on institute level
Dislikes
- Too outside of the main city so we have to travel 15-20 km if we want to go to the main city
- Timing restrictions for girls. Girls are not allowed after 9:45 pm
Course Curriculum Overview:
The carricullum for our course was changed few years back and it is focused on both learning and placement perspective and it provides real time experience as well. The exams are done regularly in for of 2 cycle test within a semester and at the end of semester we have end sem exam.

- Campus is also spread over large area, so can be difficult sometimes.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Faculty members are experienced and knowledgeable. They help students and guides them. Teaching methodhology is also good. Exams are conduct thrice a semester, i.e, two-cycle tests and one final exam. It is not that difficult to clear the exams and can be prepared in 1 week of study.

- All types of facilities are available like sports and study.
- Weather is also good inside campus, small markets and canteens are also available.
Dislikes
- Too many poisonous snakes available and even the college hospital is available but no any snake antidot is available, they refer you to apolo hospital.
- No tranportation is flexible, if you go to trichy bus stand it is very difficult to find any bus for returning campus as our campus is situated too far from main trichy city.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I have chosen this course to become a good software engineer. The Faculty: Student ratio is 1:5 as there are 20 faculties and 109 students are there. Almost all faculties are holding a doctorate and some are holding Ph.D. degrees. The term exams are held every 2 months and are quite difficult to pass.

- Mess food quality can be improved. Most of the people don't like mess food.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course because after graduation MCA was a better option for me as I had done a BSc in Computer science. In terms of placement, MCA is better than MSc in Computer science. There are 15 faculty for 300 students. Faculties are very well qualified and have good experience in teaching. In each semester there are 2 cycle tests and one final exam.

- campus is very big. enjoying night life with friend and inside campus. facilities available like for sports library, computer labs, advanced equipments, etc.
- Exposure I got after coming here like students are organising very big events, making realtime working applications, that is being used by the college. Competitive circle.
Dislikes
- Location of college from city. For anything you have to go 30 km for reaching city.
- Many reptiles and animals like snakes, monkey, mongoose, etc roaming around.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The main reason for choosing this course was placements. It is almost like a bypass way for Btech level placements. Here companies come and we sit along with the btech guys for placements. So the opportunity is very good. Course curriculum includes same subjects like btech computer science branch like DSA, oops, DBMS, networking, software engineering, artificial intelligence, web development, cloud computing, etc. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:10. The faculties are good, everyone is phd holder. They teach well, but only for the course curriculum, not for placements. you have to work and study on your own for placements, don't worry everyone does that, so the environment is built like that among friends. Apart from that there are assignments, and presentations that happen each semester in one or two subjects. Exam happens very timely, everything gets covered under the academic calendar. The difficulty of the internal exam is normal. If you study well and be attentive in class, you will get good grades.

- As there are so many greenery in the campus so there are snakes in the campus and other insects.
- All the facilities are provided in the hospital in emergency but there is insufficent care taken in snake bite

I have choose this course because i have done B.S.C in computer science and i can do better by doing MCA because i Have interserst in computer and there is no placement in my graduation college In this course has about about one to 12 ratio betweeen the faculty and student and there is a enough guidance provided by the faculty to the student and all the faculty use english language not the local language of the tamil so every student can understand the subjects and connects with the faculty very well For the qualification point of view all the faculties are well educated and they have excellent knowledge in there subjects every faculty can teach two to three subjects of course and qualication point of view three or five faculty have doctrate degree and all have done master degree and they teach every subject very interesting way and give the solution of the the doute of the student raised in the classroom Exams are happens three times in six months of the semester and very easy

Course is now getting updated with new subjects. Faculties guides and helps students here. Faculties are highly qualified here and teaches well. Apart from it, students can work with faculties for rezearch projects. Term exams are around every 1.5 months to 2 months.
Fee Structure And Facilities:
Fee of NIT Trichy is quite high. For 3 year Mca course I have to Pay arround 5 lacs with hostel and mess.But here is plus point you can apply for scholarship if you are a resident of tamilnadu or you are a sc/st category student. Some states also provide scholarship to their resident You can also apply for that. On the other hand, You can get an education loan. Since this is a top college every bank is ready to give loan to their students.The fees is high but placement is also too high.Placement percentage in this college is 98% which is very good.
