IIT Bombay Courses Admission 2024: Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility, Selection Criteria

Ans. IIT Bombay offers BTech for 4 years in full-time mode only. IIT Bombay offers BTech in 10 different specializations namely Computer Science and Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Physics, Energy Engineering, and Environmental Engineering. 

Ans. To join the PhD program at IIT Bombay, candidates have to visit the official website to get the application form. Further, they have to fill up the application form using all the details and upload the documents as asked. For the successful submission of the form, candidates are required to pay the application fee. Finally, they can download and print the form for their future use. 

Ans. IIT Bombay accepts the national entrance level exam scores for admission to its MSc program. For the IIT Bombay MSc course, candidates must appear for the IIT JAM exam to be eligible for admission. A valid score in IIT JAM is the way to get into IIT Bombay MSc.

Ans. IIT Bombay MTech admission depends on the GATE scores of the candidates. Along with that, candidates must have completed their graduation in Engineering or Technology or any other relevant field with 60% minimum marks. All GATE-qualified candidates must register for the COAP counselling to reserve a seat at the institute.

Ans. To apply for the IIT Bombay MSc, candidates are required to visit the IIT JAM website which is jam.iitg.ac.in. Further, they have to fill in some basic details and upload the required documents. Ans. IIT Bombay MTech admission is done based on GATE scores. The GATE registrations are done in the month of September-October. Candidates can register themselves for the GATE through its official website. They also have to make a payment of INR 1,400 for General/OBC (female) candidates and INR 2,300 for all other candidates including foreign nationals.

Ans. Candidates from any other stream (Science without Physics or Mathematics or Chemistry, Commerce, Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply for the BDes course at IIT Bombay. The only eligibility criteria for admission to the BDes program is candidates have to pass their 10+2 exam.

Ans. IIT Bombay BDes admission 2024 will be based on the UCEED exam score. Registration for UCEED 2024 is ongoing and the deadline for applying to this exam is October 31 (Without late fees) and November (With late fees). The admission process is scheduled to take place in June 2024.

Ans. IIT Bombay encourages applications from the graduate candidates. Students must have passed their bachelor’s degree in Science or any other relevant discipline. They must score at least 60% of marks or 6.0 CGPA out of 10 (General/OBC/EWS) categories with valid IIT JAM scores. 

Ans. IIT Bombay MTech cutoff 2023 is based on the GATE scores followed by COAP counselling. IIT Bombay has participated in 11 rounds of COAP counselling. IIT Bombay GATE Round 1 closing cutoff ranges from 325-750 marks for the general category, for the SC and the ST category candidates, the cutoff range was from 217-500 marks respectively.

Ans. IIT JAM has released the cutoffs for IIT Bombay MSc for the year 2023. IIT JAM has released rounds 1,2, 3, and 4 rounds of cutoff for MSc admission. The Round 1 closing cutoff for IIT Bombay MSc cutoff 2023 ranges from 14-598 rank for the general category and in Round 3, the cutoff was 18-662 rank. 

Ans. IIT Bombay grants admission to its MTech program through GATE scores. However, candidates can also apply for direct admission to IIT Bombay MTech. In this case, candidates have to be BTech graduates from any of the IITs with a CGPA of 8 out of 10. Such candidates are exempted from the GATE exam and can apply for direct admission. 

Ans. IIT JAM is the national-level entrance examination that allows students to get into the MSc course in IITs, NITs, and CFTIs. It is not necessary to take IIT JAm to pursue MSc programs. However, if a candidate is keen to pursue an MSc course from any of the aforementioned institutes, they have to take the IIT JAM and secure a valid score to be eligible for their desired institute. 

Ans. IIT Bombay accepts GATE/ CEET/ or UGC-JRF scores for admission to its PhD program. The GATE scores are only required for those candidates who are employed on Sponsored Research Projects at IIT Bombay. Such candidates must have:

1. Valid GATE score and six months of service in the sponsored research project.
2. Total two years of experience if the qualifying degree is BE/BTech.

Ans. The BDes cutoff 2023 has been released by the UCEED for IIT Bombay. UCEED has released Rounds 1,2 and 3 rounds of cutoff for IIT Bombay BDes. The closing cutoff for the BDes program has opened at 16 ranka and also closed at 16 ranks for the general category students.

Ans. Candidates upon clearing the GATE exam can avail the benefit of the GATE scholarship/financial assistantship. Candidates who are pursuing PhD from IIT Bombay will receive an amount of INR 31,000 as a JRF. Candidates can avail the benefit of the GATE scholarship monthly only for 2 years.

Ans. Candidates must have any of the following degrees with a minimum of 60% of marks to be eligible for IIT Bombay MPP admission:

• A master’s degree or a 4-year bachelor’s degree
• M.Sc. degree or a 4-year BSc/ BS degree 
• BTech/ BArch degree or equivalent

Ans. For IIT Bombay MDes admission, candidates must have passed BE/BTech/BDes/BArch or equivalent degree in a relevant field with a CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate. Along with this, candidates also have to appear for the CEED entrance test.

Ans. IIT Bombay offers an MS program for 3 years. This program is designed to help the R&D labs and is offered in 2 different specializations Computer Science & Engineering and Machine Learning & Data Science. 

Ans. IIT Bombay MS program is offered at the post-graduate level. Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate, or a First Class as specified by the University or CGPA/CGPI of 6.0 out of 10.0 scale either in BE/BTech/MSc or MCA.

Ans. Candidates belonging to any background are open for admission to the IIT Bombay MPP program. However, the candidates must have completed their 4 year’s bachelor degree in any relevant field to apply for the MPP program at IIT Bombay. 

Ans. Candidates seeking admission to the IIT Bombay MS program have to appear for the GATE exam and secure a valid score. The selection is based on COAP counselling. However, candidates who have completed BTech in CS/CSE from IITs are exempted from submitting the GATE scores.

Ans. Candidates must have passed 10+2 and must have completed their UG courses or four year’s bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% of marks. However, the candidates also have to appear for a personal interview. The final selection is made based on the interview round. 

Ans. Candidates are shortlisted for the IIT Bombay MPP program based on their academic performance or qualifying degree. Further, the students have to appear for the all-India PET exam and a personal interview conducted by the institute. The final selection is done based on the performance in the entrance test and interview rounds.

Ans. To get admission to IIT Bombay PhD, candidates must qualify for the following exams: GATE/ CSIR/ UGC NET/ ICAR/ DST INSPIRE fellowship. Along with this, a mandatory minimum professional experience of 2 years is required as of the date of application. 

Ans. For admission to IIT Bombay PhD, candidates must appear for GATE/ CSIR/ JRF/ NET/ COGJET/other equivalent exams. However, a candidate with a bachelor’s degree from any IIT and having a CGPA/CGPI of 8.00 out of 10.00 scale and above can apply for an IIT Bombay PhD. Such candidates are not required to submit their GATE scores. 

Ans. IIT Bombay cutoff is the minimum rank to get into the institute. For the year 2023, JoSAA has released the IIT Bombay cutoff for BTech. The IIT Bombay BTech cutoff has opened at 66-7253 rank and closed at 67-9064 rank for the general category. 

Ans. Candidates seeking admission to IIT Bombay BTech should have completed their 12th exam from any recognized board with PCM as their major subject. Candidates also have to secure at least 75% of marks in their 12th exams to be eligible for IIT Bombay BTech. Further, they are required to appear for the entrance exam i.e., JEE Mains followed by JEE Advanced. The JEE Advanced scores will decided the candidates’ selection to IIT Bombay followed by JoSAA counselling.

Ans. IIT Bombay accepts JEE Advanced scores for its BTech admission. The registrations for JEE Advanced usually begin in the month of April. Candidates with a valid JEE Mains score can apply at https://jeeadv.ac.in/. Candidates belonging to the General, EWS, and OBC categories must pay an amount of INR 1,000 (males) and INR 800 (females). SC/ST/PwD/Transgender candidates are required to pay INR 500 for the JEE Advanced registration. 

Ans. IIT Bombay BTech admission is granted only on the basis of valid scores in JEE Advanced. To secure a seat at the institute, candidates have to appear for JEE Mains followed by JEE Advanced. Furthermore, they must register themselves for JoSAA counselling which will help them to reserve a seat for their chosen specialisation.
