I got into IITB for parents but the competition right there is heavy and we need to study hard there we can enjoy ourselves at the same time we need to study accordingly The faculty-student ratio is 1:40 It's very difficult to pass if we study a day before the exam

I chose branch over college, I was getting CSE at other colleges but chose IIT Bombay because of the opportunities it offers outside of core engineering domains, and it was the correct choice. The course is academically rigorous but leaves ample time to explore.

I can comment that sometime you don't choose, you're the chosen one. So by this i'm saying is that i had filled lot of colleges(IITs) and lot of branches, but due to some error while filling the counselling data i had put IIT Bombay chemical department before IIT Delhi Electrical, that was my mistake, but now i'm happy with my branch. No. of student per faculty advisor is 40. And all the faculty is foreign return and have done studies in extremely good foreign colleges like Washington, university of Virginia etc,
I chose this course out of my interest in the electrical field. The faculty is very good and supportive. All the faculty members are very knowledgeable and qualified from top universities. Faculty: Student ratio doesn't matter much, since the professors can handle everything on their own or with the help of TA's (Teaching Assistants). If we tend to go with the flow of the course we can easily score good grades. A number of exams and their schedule depends upon the professor who's teaching the course. A course may have weekly quizzes, assignments, projects, presentations etc.
I have a particular interest in Electrical engineering, so I choose this branch. The faculty were very kind to us and teach us very nicely, all the faculty were completed there phd from top universities only, there will be relative grading so it doesn't matter how tough was the exam as grading will be relative
Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay is in my opinion the most diverse course with curriculum greatly overlapping with computer science and also provides a lot of mathematical courses. Highly qualified faculty which can provide a remarkable research exposure at an undergraduate level is another positive. Meticulously designed courses and evaluation focus more on the application side and problem solving which I personally like.
I am writing about the 1967-69 period. The monthly fee used to be INR 37.50 for the course and 27.50 for a hostel or a total of INR 60 per month. ALL PG students used to get a monthly scholarship of INR 250. The amount of scholarship covered tuition fees, hostel fees, mess expenses, and other miscellaneous expenses like movies and travel. Grand Old days!
The fee structure is quite feasible, around 1 lakh per semester. The mess and hostel fees are also affordable netting to about 30 thousand for a semester and other expenditures are negligible. The canteens are also affordable.
It's very feasible as it is a government college. And a stipend is also provided to the master's students and Ph.D. students. This relieves the pressure for studying. Accommodation and food costs are also very low thus living expenses are low.
