The curriculum could be updated. I think the first year courses are very basic and easy for design. They upgrade it a bit. The btech subjects that we had were very irrelevant. I don't think we will be using it in design in future.
Although the placement percentage is not 100% but the opportunities provided by the institute are very good. In the field of BDes, some of the top companies of the industry participated during the placements. In general, the highest CTC went to Rs. 1.5 CPA. Companies that visited for the placements were Microsoft, Google, Qualcomm, Oracle, American Express, Walmart, Adobe, Razorpay and Groww.
The environment is great. It's so pleasant and green. It's amazing to be a student here. The students are very friendly and kind. There is a vast variety of flora and fauna available. The only downside is that being away from main city, we don't get much attention.
For the most part it is definitely worth it to join IITG. From good placement records to being the most beautiful campus in India there's something for everyone here. Accessibility sometimes cause issue but other than that, it holds up the hype it got.
JEE, AIR 4742 Chose branch, not college. For my rank, Design seemed to be a perfectly fitting branch for me, hence I chose to go for it over BITS CSE.
Our campus is bound to grow more as a new boys hostel is being built, and expansion of various departments is taking place. And there are a few very tall buildings built for reasons I don't know, maybe for phD scholars.
