Curriculum here is good. There are 2-3 core courses every semester and other electives can be chosen from 2nd year. The sequence of core courses for engineering physics is well defined moving from classical to quantum. Mostly 2-3 classes per week per course. Exams are mostly midsem endsem and quizzes in between.

The placements at IIT Bombay are generally good. There are companies that come specifically to this college only in all of India (they dont even go to other IITs). The packages that most people get range from 15-20lacs. There are higher packages also exceeding 1cr, but only very few students get them . Likewise there are also very low paying jobs offered (lowest i know being aroung 6lacs) but that also is limited to few students. Additionally you get Internships also at many good companies paying you large amounts (some beiing as high as around 6lacs per month). The same pattern is reflecetd here as in placements as in most people get somewher aroung 1-1.5lacs per month. (What I mean by most here is most good packages, the number is students getting them might be around 30%% of total students)

Campus placements are for final year students, process starts after the beginning of 7th semester. Companies started to take tests, then shortlisted students will give interviews after the end of 7th semester in december month. Many big companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Bain and Co., McKinsey, Flow Traders, HUL, etc comes to hire. Average salary per annum lies around 15-20 LPA, while the highest can go upto 2Cr (internation offers) and lowest can lie around 6-7 LPA. Every year, around 75-80% students gets placed from campus placements.

Coming to placements, it is something IIT's are know for. We have a separate Placement cell which always get it work done. 7 th sem students are eligible for placement. Many student also get PPO and almost 300 PPO were offered this year. IF I give you rough idea 1900 job offer's were made and company visited were almost 350. Highest package offered was 3.67 crore per annum ( internationally) and average package for this year was around 21 lpa. 83% students were placed during this placement session. My plans after getting degree is startup , i know my department is research oriented but as we are mathematically strong it give us a little edge in placement as compared to other branches and usually EP students get internship in foreign countries which would help me in networking for my startup.

I chose this course because I want to pursue higher studies and want to go on research. The faculty-student ratio is very good for me, one mentor is alloted per 10-12 students. Faculties are very well qualified. Exams difficulty depends on the professor.

IITB attracts a wide range of top-tier companies from various industries during its placement season. Companies like Google, Microsoft, TCS, Amazon and many more dream companies visits here. So, generally, placement is sorted for each individual. The highest and average package increases each year and varies significantly depending on the role, industry, branch of student and of course. The highest package reaches crores while the average package is nearly around 25lpa these years. The percentage of students applying for placement is low and those getting placed is significantly high (approx >=90%).
Campus placements are there in the 7th semester of B-Tech people. A lot of companies come during the 2 phases of placement. The first phase goes on for 15 days in Dec. Around 90% of the students get placed.
You can sit in placements starting from the seventh semester. A huge amount of companies visit and it boasts 100% placements for those who sit in placements. The highest packages reach up to 20 million INR per annum, the average package lies around 800000 pa, 99% of students who sit for placements get placed. Not sure. My options are MTech in Data Science or a job in the same field. Depends on the salary offered.
For BTech students, it begins from 8th sem, though the interview occurs in 7th sem. For a dual degree, it happens at the end of the 10th sem. A lot of companies do visit and a lot of offers are made, so I think the highest package was 1.5crore offered to a student of our college. Usually, these students have a cpi of above 9.5. I personally haven't planned anything yet.
