Remarks :
IIT was ranked the best in the country, also apart from this, it had a lot more facilities and resources which I could use to enhance my knowledge. It stays at par with the top-ranking colleges abroad in all aspects. Furthermore, the situation forced me to go to a college that had a low admission fee.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the course because of my interest in the subject, the student-to-teacher ratio is almost 1 so it's possible to get 1on1 attention from profs. Some of them you get profs are IITB graduates themselves earning a Ph.D. at MIT. So far the exams have been fairly easy, but these weren't pertaining to the course of choice because it's still my first year. Talking to seniors I've found out that the course is fairly difficult in senior years.
Internships Opportunities :
I'm not so sure about this, but I do know there is a vast majority of students doing interns at the moment. Further for BS students, they can join under profs as assistant for their research, but this is in the hands of the profs.
Placement Experience :
For BTech students, it begins from 8th sem, though the interview occurs in 7th sem. For a dual degree, it happens at the end of the 10th sem. A lot of companies do visit and a lot of offers are made, so I think the highest package was 1.5crore offered to a student of our college. Usually, these students have a cpi of above 9.5. I personally haven't planned anything yet.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee is fairly low compared to any college in India, I haven't yet applied for scholarships, but there are some available if needed based on your cpi. The scholarship favors the one with the best cpi and goes lower as the cpi goes lower.
Campus Life :
So far it has only been online, though the campus is magnificent. There are numerous clubs which involve in tech activities and other stuff. sports to has a lot of activities here which no one really expects. Apart from this, there's our annual fest MOODI, which stands as the best in Asia. The website, social groups, etc run by students have aided the newly entered 'online' batch a lot and a lot of credit goes to them, for making us feel welcome and involved in various activities.
Interview Experience :
The exam was jee advance, and the preparation for it went on for two years. To be entirely honest, it doesn't really require you to put in that many hours to study the concepts sit in your head, but the way I was taught was to solve more and more which now I feel was completely unnecessary if I had a firm grasp on concepts.
