- Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2.
Course Details
NIT Goa offers B.Tech program in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. NIT Goa B.Tech program is an 8-semester long full-time program.
The merit or rank list will be prepared on the basis of 40% preference to marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% preference to JEE Main. The final list will be published only after normalization.
Note: the criteria of 75% marks and the other percentile criteria have been removed in January 2021, given the Covid 19 pandemic situation.

Selection Process: Admission to B.Tech program will be granted on the basis of JoSAA 2020.
Admission Process: Candidates selected under JoSAA 2020 will be required to register at the NIT Goa online portal. Aspirants can only register after “FREEZE/ SLIDE” the seat at NIT Goa.
Documents Required at the Time of Admission
Aspirants are requested to bring original and photocopies of the following documents at the time of physical reporting for admission to NIT Goa:
- Document Verification-cum-Seat Acceptance Letter, issued from the Reporting Centre.
- Provisional Seat Allocation letter issued in 7th round.
- Class X (High School)Board certificate, as proof of Name and Date of Birth.
- Mark sheet of the qualifying examination (Class XII).
- School Leaving / Transfer Certificate from the Institution last attended.
- Photo Identity card issued by Govt. Agency (Preferably AADHAR).
- OBC-NCL certificate ( In case of OBC-NCL category candidates).
- Community Certificate (In case of SC/ST candidates).
- Disability certificate ( In case of PwD candidates).
- Income Certificate issued on or after April 1, 2019 (Applicable only if annual income is less than 5 Lakhs).
- Physical fitness certificate (issued by a Govt. Medical Officer).
- Two copies of recent passport size photograph.
- Migration Certificate if applicable.
- Downloaded copy of the duly filled NIT Goa Online Admission Form admission form link will live from 15th July 2019.
Admissions Under DASA Scheme
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Foreign Nationals can get direct admission under the Direct Admission of Students Abroad Scheme (DASA). This scheme is only open for students pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The curriculum is pretty basic and as per the industrial standards. All the concepts and fundamentals of CSE are properly cleared. The curriculum is a mixture of theoretical and practical knowledge that helps us to develop our skills and decision-making abilities. The curriculum properly syncs with real-world scenarios of industries.

It is very beneficial to study CSE in NIT because the faculty provides more information about the course. They assist in locating more internships off campus and in developing the subject. They are well competent and support us by delivering mini projects and presentations, among other things. Also, the professors at NIT Goa are quite helpful in guiding students, assisting with projects, and assisting us by hosting seminars with excellent speakers. They are highly qualified in their field of teaching, and they guide and encourage students.
Fee Structure And Facilities:
Annually 200000lakh for a general category students. But it changes according to category and ones annual income. If ones annual income is less then 500000 lakh per year then college gives priority to them. In this case free can be reduced up to 50000 per semester, including hostel fee.

Will I get CSE at NIT Goa if I have a 19k OBC NCL rank?
According to the 2021 cutoff trend, the required cutoff of CSE for OBC category students is 14577 (HS). If you are an out-of-state student then the cutoff is 3779. So, getting admission to the institute will be tough if you are not a resident of Goa.
The counseling process is done based on the AIR and not the category rank. The category rank is just a measure to rank you in your particular category. If your category is OBC NCL then your category rank would be the position among the other OBC students who had appeared for the examination.
Should I choose UPTU College, NIT Goa, or NIT Jalandhar for CSE?
As one of my friends studied at NIT Jalandhar, I can tell you his experiences with the college. According to him, NIT Jalandhar is far better than NIT Goa or UPTU College, especially the CSE branch.
- The college is well established and has been earning a name for many years when compared to NIT Goa or UPTU College.
- There is proper equipment available for the students of the CSE branch along with the other facilities.
- Also, NIT Jalandhar has created a proper environment for all the students that can lead to their constant growth.
- NIT Jalandhar offers decent placement offers to students in various prestigious companies.
