The courses taught aren't upto the date with the new education policy yet . In the first year students have to go through common subjects . The courses taught help in exams like GATE or other competitive exams and many times questions in exams are taken directly from pyqs of GATE. In a semester we go through 3exams mid semester of 30marks ,10marks minor ,end sem of 50 nd internal assessment of 10marks which is similar to other colleges

My course is computer science and Engineering. The course curriculum and teaching method of our college(National Technology Of India, Silchar) is very important now in real world applications and further academic pursuits.

I like coding right before joining the college so I was attracted towards CSE engineering. Apart from this we have curriculum like Algorithm, DSA , C++ till second yr which is a good push towards coding. In the 3rd and 4th yr we have subjects which built a good grip over things required for the real world applications. The improvements that can be made are the practical teaching methods like teacher is explaining some topics and is running the code at the same time. This makes it easier for students to understand the surrounding algorithms also. We have our mid terms 2 months after the starting of the semester. After that we have our end sem after month of mid sem. Paper level is a bit difficult and the frequencies of minor examinations disturbs a bit.

The course curriculum is up to date with the curriculum being updated on 2018 last. It is well prepared to prepare a student for the industry. But in some areas the curriculum can be updated as the industry is evolving each & every day.

The course curriculum here in NIT Silchar is very much relevent. Here courses are well designed so that students can get the theoritical knowledge as well as practical knowledge of subjects. In term of teaching methods, I would say I solely depends upon individual as some students like the methods while some don't.

Basically to choose this course I was always fascinated of building mobile application and was always interested in web development which helped me to attract for this department for the better life after getting this degree. The frequency and timing of exams is always perfect as it helps students to get through the course before ahead as the professors are skilled and clear the concepts in the class through the way of teaching.
If you are passionate about coding and want a profession in this domain, NIT Silchar is the right place for you-
Even if you don’t know much about programming, NITS will make you fall in love with it. The CSE department is absolutely great over there.
Most students, freshly out of school, try to choose an Engineering branch for themselves. You might be someone who has a deep passion for either Mechanical or CSE. In that case, I would advise you to follow your heart.
But if you think not opting for CSE is a bad decision, just ask yourself why you would consider CSE. Is it because you did some coding in your school days and wish to enter into that field, or simply because CSE is popular. Don’t be in the illusion of liking a branch just because everyone is recommending it. Also, don’t go for any branch solely because it has better placements than the other. As long as you enjoy a particular field, you will get good offers.
Mechanical is a good branch at NIT Silchar. Moreover, as research has become increasingly interdisciplinary in nature, various departments collaborate with one another these days. Even Mechanical has a good involvement of CSE- Robotics, CFD, etc. all involve high level coding and the knowledge of Data Structures. Because today most campuses witness IT placements more than core profiles, I would highly recommend you consult the alumni of Mechanical to figure out what placements are like in ground reality.
These are the 2022 placement stats for both the branches at NIT Silchar-
Also, NIT Silchar offers a branch change after the 2nd semester. This is based on your performance in the first two semesters. In case you feel dissatisfied with your choice, you can opt for branch change as well.
For your first year (whichever branch you choose) maintain good grades, talk to your seniors and explore your stream.
Both NIT Silchar as well as IIIT Jabalpur are backed by the Government of India and have similar facilities. The campus, faculty, and alumni network are great in both cases. However, there are some additional parameters in which IIIT Jabalpur fares better making it a more preferable choice. Some of them have been mentioned below
Overall, if you are passionate about academics and research, then go for IIIT Jabalpur but if you want a more vibrant college life choose NIT Silchar.
B.Tech CSE from NIT Silchar is a good choice. Here are some parameters to assess it-
Thus, you can definitely consider NIT Silchar for your B.Tech CSE course.
Frankly speaking, both Electronics and Instrumentation and CSE are equally good branches that open up ample opportunities in the future. Let us have a brief comparison of the NIT Silchar, E&I, and TEZU.
Infrastructure – TEZU is leading in terms of the best infrastructure and well-equipped lab facilities, especially in the CSE branch.
Faculty – TEZU is gifted with more highly qualified and experienced faculties than others.
Placement – NITs and TEZU have had a good record of placement in recent years.
Research – CSE has an active and advanced research environment at TEZU.
Other than the qualities of the institute, your initial preference should be given to your interest in the core subject.
The record of placement statistics at NIT Silchar and IITDM Kancheepuram has been relatively the same in recent years. The core recruiters who are working on AR and VR grab students from the CSE department, especially those who are skilled in coding. IITDM Kacheepuram has an added advantage for the students as they offer design courses other than core courses, which is beneficial during the interview session. IITDM is also leading in offering efficient classes, experienced faculties, good infrastructure, and hostel facilities to the students.
The final decision should be made based only on your interests.
CSE in Manipal would be a better choice for a secure future. Some reasons that support the aforementioned statements are listed below.
Job opportunities – Computer Science and Engineering is one of the trending fields that has ample job opportunities. Even if you opt for instrumentation, eventually you will end up in a software job.
Tagline – The tagline of the institute matters in your abroad studies or the interviews. Since Manipal has a strong alumni base and is one of the oldest and most reputed institutes in India, the credibility of this institute helps to clear interviews with core companies.
Placement – Manipal has had a better placement record in recent years than NIT Silchar.
Environment – The authorities of Manipal ensure a resourceful learning environment for every student.
Faculty – CSE has more highly experienced and qualified faculties at Manipal than NIT
Hence, you can go with the option of CSE in Manipal.

Among the colleges present in the lot, I would advise you to choose NIT Silchar over NIT Agartala. I have a few friends at the institute and I have heard good things about the institute.
Here are a few of the reasons why NIT Silchar is a better alternative.
The above reasons should be enough to choose NIT Silchar.
My sister is an alumnus of NIT Arunachal Pradesh and has also visited NIT Silchar several times. As per her experience, the preference order to follow while making a choice between these institutes should be
The reason I placed NIT Silchar first is because it has better rankings, and even the connectivity issues have been resolved. One can now reach Silchar by road, train and via air. This has improved the placement scenario to a great extent.
