IIT Jammu BTech 2024: Fees, Admission, Cutoff, Placement, Admission

IIT Jammu BTech Admissions 2024 will start in July 2024. The institute offers a 4-year long BTech program as its flagship course. The institute grants admission to this program on the basis of the JEE Advanced scores followed by the JoSAA counselling. JEE Advanced 2024 Exam dates have been announced and the exam will be conducted on May 26, 2024. IIT Jammu offers a 4-year BTech program across 7 different specialisations. The course-structure is further segregated into 8 semesters and the institute charges a fee of INR 2.79 Lakhs for the first year. For admission to this program, students are also required to appear for the JEE Mains followed by the JEE Advanced. The seat allotment process will be done by the JoSAA. During the 2023 cutoff, IIT Jammu cutoff ranged from 4856-17296 ranks in round 6. Also, the average package for the BTech branch remained at INR 17 LPA.

IIT Jammu BTech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have secured at least 75% of their marks in 10+2 from a recognized board of education OR be in the top 20% of their class. For SC/ST applicants, a 10% reduction in qualifying degree marks is granted, resulting in a requirement of 65% in class 12. The should appear for the JEE Advanced scores and qualify with valid scores.

Candidates for the IIT Jammu BTech program are chosen based on their JEE Advanced scores. The JoSAA counselling manages and regulates the counseling process. In 6 rounds of JoSAA 2023 counseling, candidates are assigned seats. Seat distribution is based on the college cutoff and the candidate's preferences for courses and colleges.

The course curriculum is much relevant to the stream. The curriculum makes us well prepared for the real world applications and further academic pursuits . Exams are conducted 4 times a semesters includes 2 class tests 1 mid sem and 1 end semester

College is just in nature, no pollution ,no rushes and beautiful sky.
TA ( teaching assistants) are very polite and humble.

Management in hosting fests, programs are not that top notch.

Course curriculum is same as IIT Delhi,so no one can question about it. It includes mostly the labs and practical field. Exam happens here every month, as the semester is of 4 month. 2 class test ,1mid sem and 1end sem happens here.

campus scienic view is amazing its better than most colleges
location is very nice, all hillstations are near

batch size of the department is very low
shops facilities are not so good it needs improvement

Curriculum is designed to cater the department perspective ,all important courses related to departments are added to degree ,teaching methods are equally good .Exams are mainly 2 class test one after and before mid-semester then end sememster at last.difficulty is moderate

Too Much Boundation On Entry And Exit For Students (As An Highly Armed Area, Army Protects Us).
Due To Less No. Of Students Competition Is Reaching it's Peak.

I Am A Student Of Civil Engineering Department, And I Wanted To Prepare For IES Exam . Once I Get To Know That The Course Is Made Such That You Do Not Need To Put Extra Efforts For Preparation. Simply Just Follow The Course In Current Semester ,Revise It And Done. I Have Completed My 6 Courses In Just 4 Semester, Which Are The Part Of IES Exam Syllabus. They Only Teach You The Things Which Will Help You In Making Your Goal Achievable. Course Curriculum Is Managed In Such A Only. It's not about The Civil Department, Other also have the same curriculum. Exam Pattern Are Made Same As Of Competitive Exams So That You Can Practice Here Before Going To Give Exam There(Govt. Exam). The One Thing That Needs An is Is The Timing labs. They Took Our Whole Afternoon Time.

High steep distance between hostels and academic building

Course curriculum basically follows the curriculum of IIT Delhi, our mentor institute.It is a nice and well planned curriculum. Most of the new technologies are updated in the curriculum from time to time.There are 4 set of exams per semester: class tests 1 , 2 , mis semester,and end semester.So basically each month you have some exams apart from one single month when you would be free.

My branch is electrical engineering I think that the professors of my branch are really easilya approachable and understanding They not only teach us about the curriculum which is a little inclusive and theoretical but also clear are practical doubts There are continuous reforms that are being taken place as fas as curriculum is concerned and the faculties are set to give the best of the courses that prepare the students The courses here offered are interdisciplinary which are beneficial to the students to understand the overall mechanics of engineering

IIT Jammu - A Growing 3G IIT

Diversity in Students and interaction with professor. The Campus Is currently Small but beautiful.
The behavioral of seniors and Supporting Staff is really good except some people

Course curriculum is little bit oriented toward Mix Subject of EE and EC
Some weather Is really cold or some time its get very hot in summer

Till the 2021 batch, it has a major part of Institute Cores like Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Calculus, and Fundamentals of Matetial. These courses were mandatory for all the students of every batch. But from th2022 batch they changed their Curriculum and made it more oriented towards the Core Course of the respective bra. The curriculum is excellent in that it covers all the subjects related particular branch. It covers basic and some Advanced Courses and if want any other advanced courses you can choose from their Departmental Electives Which courses floated by respective Faculties. If any other course you want you have to talk to the faculty whom you want to teach the course, and they will provide you with that course.

It is the fastest growing iit. Due to less strength and High growth rate, lots of opportunities for students in every field either it is sports or academics.
Campus is extending day by day new building and infrastructure is developed.hightech and lastest technology is used inside the new campus.

Campus area is less nowadays but it extends in next 1 or 2 year.
Sports facilities are good but not like the iit standard . Ground is small and common ground for many sports

As our courses are majorly those which either related toh real world problems and some courses are also for social development of students included (ecology and professional ethics) As our courses majorly Focus on problem solving not on theory. And problems are like real world not only theoretical.
