For each specialization, IIT Jammu offers 34 seats except Mechanical Engineering, in which 33 seats are offered.
Note: The colleges also offer 5, 3, 2 supernumerary seats to female candidates in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering courses respectively.
75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in 10+2 or secure top 20 percentile in 10+2 conducted by the respective board.
The admission to B.Tech program is done through Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced (JEE-Advanced) rank and administered by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) through centralized counseling conducted by JoSSA at the all-India level.
Candidates can apply online for the UG courses through JEE Advanced. Candidates applying for any of the B. Tech. programs offered by IIT Jammu are required to ensure fulfillment of basic eligibility criteria with regards to the percentile of marks obtained in the last qualifying exam, prior to filling the application form.
Candidates cannot apply directly through the institute’s website. They need to first apply for JEE Main and then for JEE Advanced in order to get admission in the institute.

To be honest I was not getting any branch in any other colleges. So I have only this option to choose. The course which professor follows is updated with current scenario. You will have one exam about in 1 or 1.5 month

Curriculum is designed to cater the department perspective ,all important courses related to departments are added to degree ,teaching methods are equally good .Exams are mainly 2 class test one after and before mid-semester then end sememster at last.difficulty is moderate

Material science is a research field so I opted for it. The faculty is well qualified and graduated from a very good University. Student and faculty ratio is good and exams were taken once in 15 days. It is medium to tough level.

IIT Jammu is a relatively new institution having been established in 2016, it is part of the IIT system and is expected to maintain the high academic standards and reputation of the IITs. Students at IIT Jammu can expect to receive a challenging and rewarding academic experience with access to state-of-the-art faculties, cutting-edge research opportunities, and a supportive learning environment. The faculties here are very nice and cooperative they help the students very much with the research and the studies.
The curriculum of the college follows all the latest regulations and development of the industry. The curriculum helps us to understand each and every topic like Polymeric and Biomedical Materials, Nano-structured materials & Nanotechnology, Semiconductors, Optoelectronics & Information storage materials, etc in detail. The faculty of the college is very expert and they have completed their PhD degree from the top colleges. The faulty also have very good industry experience. The faculty is the one that helps us and guide us during the placement drive of the college.
