The course which I applied for in this college was b.e in mechanical and I got the admission through the entrance test and the eligibility of the course was quite good. You can find the application form and fees details from their accounts department on the college premises. There arenot any reservation benefits for the people. So the improvements I want to see is that they have to do this process more efficient and don't hassle too much during the process
The admission process of MBS College was done through JKCET. The process included first appearing in the JKCET examination. After the scores were declared we had to select the order of the prefernces of the colleges we were interested in and also the courses we were interested in. I had kept the MBS College as my second preference, first being the GCET Jammu. The reason of joining MBS College was because of its no compromise teaching and learning process. I had come to know about this from various of my acquaintances that this was the college to be in if you wanted to study. Since the selection process was based on JKCET, the college didn't need to figure out any of the miscellaneous details about the candidates as it was already done by the test holding organisation. We just had to submit some documents and our first year annaual fee and that was basically it. The college did however through in a inductiobn program for the freshers wherein they got acquainted with the college.
There doesn't any company which comes in our college and even not any college in jammu except GCET. There is scheme known as udaan by j&k government under which students are recruited but that doesn't gives you more than 12k a month and that companies belong to non engineering fields.
Overall the experience of college was good. I got an in-depth look into the IT world. My knowledge about the various fields of study was enhanced. I am a better professional only due to my college experiences.
Faculty in MCA was one good remark. If you are good at skipping the classes, you can enjoy outside.
Since I was in the mechanical stream I want to say that only most of the work is with your department so limit yourself with the department only. Otherwise, college management is the effective one because they are able to manage different streams.
College is quite good academic-wise but there is a lack of sports facilities. And the hostel facilities and the college fee are quite expensive. The college infrastructure is quite good and mesmerizing. College teachers are really very helpful.
The positive of this college is that the environment is academic friendly and there is a level of strictness maintained by the college authorities. Lack of modern infrastructure and absence of various general and academic facilities hampers the ideal college life of balancing the knowledge and enjoying the college time.
Positive about college is, the college was disciplined. Once we enter in our college we were not allowed to go out without faculty permission which is good things from my point of view. Negative about college was that there was no public transport students have to walk 3km from bus station to reach. Or students have to take college transportation which is little higher side on money.
The course curriculum was same till 2017 as was in the 2001.It changed in 2018 and now has been brought at par with the IITs.The exam structure consists of two minor exams and one major exam. The minor exams are conducted in colleges whereas the major exams are conducted by Jammu university itself.
