GCET Jammu Admission 2024
The admission process in Government College of Engineering and Technology is solely conducted online. The candidates are to sit for the Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET). Students who wish to apply for their preferred course at Government College of Engineering and Technology should follow the steps given below:-:
- The candidate needs to visit the official website of Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations.
- The aspirant needs to register themselves for the examination and sign in to fill up the form
- Once logged in, the student needs to fill in the relevant details with accuracy

The training and placements cell of Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu focuses on providing employment opportunities as well as professional training to the students. At the end of the 6th semester, training is provided to the students for 4 weeks. Various reputed organizations such as HCL, BSNL, and RLL Jammu train the students personally.

- Laboratories: The college has separate labs in every department to assist the students with their requirements. The Computer Engineering department has 7 laboratories, while the rest have one laboratory each.
- Library: The institution has a library stacked with reference books, journals, as well as magazines
- Sports: College offers facilities for sports and recreation. There is a separate sports committee that looks after the activities and makes necessary arrangements for the same.

Admission:
The admission is based on the score in the JKCET Exam that is held annually by JKBOPEE. One needs to be 12th pass or appearing to be eligible for the test. The application fee for the JKCET test is 1000 and one can apply for it through the JKBOPEE official website. The timing of the exam is 3 hours and the difficulty level is moderate. The admission process after the test is very simple, one needs to attend a counselling session held by JKBOPEE and then he can get admission to the college of their choice.

- Best Engineering College of J&K (Except for iit jammu and nit srinagar), Faculity are too supportive, College is within 20km from my home. Well maintained Computer lab. we can do coding practice at cs lab at any time we want.

Cutoff was about 80 percent and the admission process was through jkbopee. Students were selected on the basis of there percentage in 12th class. Then the student needs to come to college for fulfilling all the formalities of admission

Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu offers undergraduate courses in Engineering. However, these courses are Bachelor in Engineering and not Bachelor of Technology. The primary difference between BE and BTech is that the former focuses on the theoretical foundations of engineering students whereas the latter is an application-based degree.
GCET Jammu offers BE in Civil Engineering the duration of which is 4 years. The eligibility criteria to get admission to this program is
- At least 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 with English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as subjects from J&K Board of School Education or its equivalent.
One of my friends recently completed the program and told me that the placement scenario is hopeless with an average package of around INR 2-3 LPA.
So, I will recommend you to go to a better institute.
