IIT JAMMU REVIEW

Dislikes

  • Mandatory attendance policy of 70 percentage
  • High steep distance between hostels and academic building

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum basically follows the curriculum of IIT Delhi, our mentor institute. It is a nice and well planned curriculum. Most of the new technologies are updated in the curriculum from time to time. There are 4 set of exams per semester: class tests 1 , 2 , mis semester, and end semester. So basically each month you have some exams apart from one single month when you would be free.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunities are well of in the college . however for branches apart from CS and EE, the other students have to make more efforts to grab an internship. Majorly TCS, UPL,Microsoft ,Atlassian and other startups have come to take students for intership this year.

Placement Experience :

For placement the students of 7th and 8th semester are eligible. Certain companies like TCS, Microsoft, Mahindra, Flipkart etc have taken students. Nearly 80 percent students usually get placement. However I plan to pursue higher studies after graduation.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tuition fee usually hikes by around 20 thousand for each upcoming batch. However hostel and mess fees remain same.Camous placement stats are also good as compared to recession season of other colleges. The Sc and St students have full tuition fee waiver.Apart from that students can also opt for scholarship provided for econocally backward students

Campus Life :

Overall experience of the college is quite good.Yhe facility is quite modern and labs are well equipped with new machines. The students are given multiple opportunities and social clubs are also very active.Because of less students, the college now offers various opportunities to the students.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel is mandatory for B.Yech students if they have enrolled themselves in the college. The mess food is normal and good. The facilities in the hostel are well off. There are pool tables, Table tennis tables inside the hostel premises.Washing machines , geysers , automatic light are also available.

Admission :

Admission is done through JOSAA .you have to clear JEE Advanced to claim a seat. For boys , the maximum rank is around 19 thousand and for girls ,the maximum rank is around 27 thousand. Definitely the reserved categories are given more concession intbhw rank system.

Faculty :

Faculty to students ratio varies with the branch you have enrolled.Faculties are well to do and highly intellectual.Almost all of them have graduated from good international Universities. However the faculty, most of them are quite young .So may be a lack of experience can be a down point for them.Rest is fine.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Computer science is an interesting course with a good job opportunity. The exams however are exhausting, not that difficult but exhausting. The question papers are prepared by the faculty itself and papers are checked by the faculty too.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible from 7th semister for the university placements. There are various companies that visit the university like TCS, Airtel, Jio, Infosys, etc. Some students do get placed at packages of around 5 LPA. My plans are to develop skills and apply for jobs outside university placements.

Placement Experience:

I think the students become eligible for placements after 6 th semester, if you are from CS / IT then you'll get enough opportunities for yourself... I know 8-9 seniors who have grabbed a pretty decent package from companies like Oracle If somehow you fail to get recruited on campus then i guess the off campus option is open for all I am pretty satisfied with the placement record atleast for IT The percentage placement for this year CSE was 51 considering recession part this seems good to me

Course Curriculum Overview:

Basically the faculty also does not know what questions will be in the external exams, so they need to cover whole syllabus and 4 months are not sufficient to cover the whole syllabus. I did not learn any practical thing there so it was the worse decision of my life to join the course. The curriculum only prepares you to handle the pressure and makes you really strong. "What will happen with 1 backlog now" They first need to know what is important and what can they skip. Timings were good but the last 2 semisters were taken in 8 months that was difficult to manage

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario is not same every year . I didn't get placement and almost majority students do not get placement of my batch in all streams it's also because of the recession going in our country. But the companies that come here took girls only their focus was to balance girls and boys ratio in their office so companies were taking girls only very few boys were placed . Less than 50% students were palced from my stream. Highest package was of 10 lakhs and 4 students were placed in that company with a contract of 5 years only others were placed at an average package of 5-6 lakhs

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculty and seniors are more cooperative than I thought, they create an environment for every student to learn a few more aspects in their domain. There should be some gap given in the time table, so that there will be less academic stress

Course Curriculum Overview:

• B.e./B.Tech is one the most popular course, i prefer this course with an idea of securing well paid job after completion of this professional degree. Also i was good in mathematics and science from the childhood. • SSM College is a private university with multiple campuses in India. It is known for its large student population and expansive academic programs. However, specific data on the faculty-to-student ratio may vary across different campuses and departments within the university. It can contribute to a better learning experience and individualized support for students. • Minimum of 5 years experience in teaching / research /industry of which 2 years post PhD experience is desirable. • Use multiple sources of data for each course. • Mid term exams were on time after completing 2 chapters from all subject. It is done before Major exams. It is easy to pass mid term exams as it is of 50 marks and pass marks is just 20
