Placements in IIT BHU are excellent. The basic salary range for the academic years 2020-21 and 2019-20 were INR 11.50-64.26 LPA, and INR 10-58.21 LPA, respectively.
The first phase of the 2022 placement drive has been already completed. Students received a total of 1185 placement offers. 35 students got international placements. UBER offered the highest CTC of 2.05 CPA. While UiPath offered the highest domestic CTC of INR 78 LPA to 2 students.
IIT BHU placements are decent for Ceramic Engineering. But very few students get core placements. Tata Steel is among the core recruiters that take part in the campus drive.
Most students are recruited in non-core job profiles such as Software Developer, Data Scientist, etc. The highest CTC offered for the students of this branch is around INR 38 LPA.
There are fewer placement opportunities available for IIT BHU MTech branches compared to BTech branches. Most MTech students apply for jobs through off campus placements. You can get placed in the IT sector if you have good coding skills. Companies recruiting core branch students are fewer in number. As per IIT BHU placement highlights the average CTC for most MTech branches is around INR 6-8 LPA.
The placement scenario of IIT-BHU metallurgical engineering is not as good as other branches but this is improving every year. More companies like Tata Steel, Tata Motors, and Saint Gobain are coming with job offers for B.Tech, IDD, and M.Tech students. The chances of getting placed are more for a B.Tech student than for an M.Tech student.
In the year 2016, 52 B.Tech, 16 IDD, and 10 M.Tech students registered for placement out of which 36 B.Tech, 11 IDD, and 1 M.Tech student secured jobs. The highest CTC was 13 LPA, the lowest CTC was 5 LPA and the average CTC was 7.78 LPA. These statistics have improved in successive years.
In the year 2019, 44 out of 47 registered students got placed and the average CTC was 9.67 LPA. This clearly shows that the percentage of students getting placed and the average package amount has improved over the years.
Moreover, not all students register for placement rather they prepare for other entrance examinations like CAT, GATE, GRE, UPSC, etc. The chances of clearing these entrance examinations are higher here than other IITs because one gets more free time in IIT-BHU and can spend more time in personal development. This will help them in grabbing good jobs even without registering for placements.
Some non-core companies also present job offers that are open to all branches. These recruiters only look for a particular set of skills that one can acquire through online courses in their free time. Thus there are many opportunities for the students and it depends on the student how he/she grabs the opportunity
IIT (BHU) Varanasi has maintained a stellar placement record over the years. Also in recent times, global MNCs have started to recognize Indian talents more and more. This is the reason behind the sudden influx in placement statistics for IIT BHU. Another reason is the student crowd of the college. Despite the poor infrastructure, IIT BHU still attracts brilliant students from all over the country.
The Training and Placement Office has a huge role to play behind the increased placement numbers too. The placement office work actively to invite recruiters and get best placement opportunities for the students.
The placement scenario for Chemical Engineering students at IIT BHU is good. Although very few core companies from the field visit the campus placements. In the recent placement drive, the average CTC offered to the Chemical Engineering students was in the range of 15-17 LPA. Last year, the highest CTC offered to the branch was 38 LPA.
Around 60% of all none core companies visiting the campus placement are open for Chemical Engineering students. You also have the option to take GATE and opt for PSU jobs.
IIT BHU is one of the oldest technical institutes in the country and is known for its rich prestige and culture. In addition, it also has the best facilities that attract students from all over the country, IIT BHU has birthed many successful alumni like
The main reason for better placements than other IITs is its relentless working Training & Placement Office. It has ties with many industries in the country, and around 200 companies visit the campus for placements.
IIT BHU is conducting its final placements and the highest CTC stood at INR 1.2 CPA. 117 recruiters participated in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Some of the top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Additionally, the IIT BHU alumni network is strong and spread across major firms. The rich coding culture also plays a big role in attracting the best software companies.
IIT BHU students get placed thanks to their placement office, the rich coding culture combined with a strong alumni network.
Mathematics and Computing at IIT(BHU) is a dual-degree program, which promises a bright career for students. The placements of Mathematics and Computing (MnC) are almost at par with that of Computer Science and Engineering. All students who sit for the placements are recruited within the first two days of the placement season. Exact statistics are not revealed to maintain the confidentiality of companies as well as students. However, the average CTC offered to students in IIT BHU varies each year, according to the placement highlights of 2019, it’s 8 LPA. Some of the top recruiters which are usually open for recruiting are - Google, Amazon, Apple, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, Nutanix, Morgan Stanley, Flipkart, Nutanix, JP Morgan, Samsung, etc.
As per the latest highlights of IIT BHU placements, the average CTC for ECE students is around INR 20-22 LPA. Around 95% of students get placed from the branch each year. Most students are offered digital electronics-related profiles or SDE roles. Oracle, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, etc. are some of the major recruiters that take part in IIT BHU campus placement.
The news is absolutely real and has been verified by IIT BHU officials. And as for their branches, one of them is from CSE, 2 from ECE and one from Electrical. However, those 1.54 Crore packages were from US-based companies where the Living costs and Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) is way higher than that of India. Generally, it includes stock options for 4 years and variable bonuses. The media shows the package without giving any insight into the package breakdown. It sometimes builds unjustified hype and unrealistic expectations for the students. However, the average package offered in IIT BHU was ranging between 10 LPA to 58 LPA.
