The Branch you are taking as your major mainly decides which course you are going to study during your B.tech but in IITs seeing the new developments and research we have the options of choosing the courses from other departments in form of open electives and yes here there is so much learning that comes from your college peers and learn much more from them. The development I see can be done in the areas where we are still getting taught the subjects that are not relevant in today's world and the teaching methods can be made more interactive by having a relaxed grading format and good competition among students. The exams are mainly held two times a semester like one as Midterms and other as Endterm and in between we get the Quizzes and Lab exams.

I want to graduate from an iit.Because iit' s are the best colleges in India for engineering.Teachers are very good here Mostly are iit graduates There teaching methods are good and effective. In each semester there are two exams and some quizzes One is mid sem and other is end sem If you study normally in every sem you can score a good cgpa

I think course is quite hard compared to other courses in BTech.but one thing you could possibly get a better job in both software and hardware industries. Electrical engineering in varanasi has a excellent faculty in teaching the core subjects. If you are interested in core you could definitely take this course. If you are interested in software industry no probs you can learn coding as an open elective course and you have plenty of opportunities in showing your talent

The cirriculum delas with real world problems like efficeiency of transformers, motors etc.. Also about EV (electric vehicles) that made me choose this course. One of the main reason is maths and physics which are essential for this course. There will be two exams per each semister i.e; mid-term and end-term. These decide our CGPA. In between there may be Quizes and randomn tests these depend upon the professor. The labs should be made in such a way that they are helpful for us in future ,but these labs are very backward which don't have any automatic machines. Every machine need to be done by a man completely . The circulum has some of the courses from other braches ,which gives us insight about those respective branch so that the student gets minimum knowledge about other braches.

The branch allotment in JOSAA counselling is on the basis of rank and not on the basis of interest or inclination of the student towards a particular course. I was allotted Chemical Engineering, and later got my branch changed to Electrical Engineering after the first semester. Each branch of Engineering is relevant for the overall development of the society and the curriculum here does keep that in mind, as far as I have observed in four semesters.

The curriculum here is very student friendly there is still some lag in real-world applications teaching since the lab equipments are very old and not the standards of latest technology hence it is somewhat have to improvised the exams are of medium range with one mid semester and one end semester examination

The course curriculum is a bit hard for me. Like it's not the way as it is school. But the faculty and staff are quite supportive. Sources such as library are also available. I decided to get into this course is of course just because of my rank in advanced. 2 exams would be conducted for every semester: Mids and End term.

I am a student of B.Tech Electrical at IIT Roorkee. Thus, I can only provide an insight into my branch/college-
The 2023 placement stats for EE at IIT Roorkee are as given below:
Branch | Highest Package | Average Package | Median Package |
---|---|---|---|
EE | INR 44.62 LPA | INR 19.05 LPA | INR 15 LPA |
Based on these reasons, I can safely say that Electrical Engineering at IIT Roorkee is a good choice.
Both IIT BHU and IIT Hyderabad are new IITs. However, IIT BHU is an old institute and later on converted to IIT while IITH is newly constructed. Though newly constructed, the growth of IITH has been pretty impressively. According to NIRF ranking, IITH (rank - 7) is far ahead of IIT BHU (rank - 14) which proves that IITH has better infrastructure, faculties, research facilities, outreach, and location.
As of 2019, the opening and closing rank of IITH for Electrical is 808-1868 while in IIT BHU the closing rank was 2054. The IITH has the combined electrical and electronics engineering course which provides students with the knowledge of both the areas as the industry demands and provides opportunities in various areas. In contrast, IIT BHU has a separate electrical engineering course that is dedicated to specific electrical subjects.
Both the IITs hold good placement records. In 2019 a total of 88 students were placed from EE in IIT BHU. The offers were ranged between 10 LPA to 58.21 LPA. Whereas, the placement statistics for the EE department in IITH suggest there was 73.17% placement with a median salary of 15.23 LPA.
IITH has signed MoUs with renowned Japanese colleges, so there is a huge trend of going to further studies in Japan. Unlike IITH, IIT BHU, being an old college, has a strong alumni network, and there are many alumni at high positions in the organization. Both these institutions have their perks for a EE degree, so choose according to your convenience.
If you pursue Electrical Engineering at IIT (BHU), you can expect almost 100% placement with some of the leading companies offering placements. The highest salary package offered for the branch is 1.2 crore per annum.
The average salary package offered ranges between 15 LPA and 20 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 9 LPA. The average salary package offered for the branch is 26.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies that visit IIT (BHU) include Graviton, Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google, and others. Additionally, IIT Delhi and IIT BHU attract these top companies. You can expect to get an on-campus internship if you are a student of electrical engineering at IIT (BHU). Nearly 70-80% of students get on-campus internships, and there may be more off-campus internships. The top roles offered during the placement drive are Software Development Engineer (SDE), Data Analyst, and Developer.
Both institutes are among the top institutions in India. So decide accordingly based on the following factors -
According to NIRF Ranking 2019, BITS Pilani is ranked at 39 and IIT BHU at 28. So the numbers show that IIT BHU has performed better over BITS Pilani in terms of infrastructure, faculties, research facilities, outreach, and location.
The IITs being run by the government body, the fee structure is less as compared to BITS Pilani. Also being government institutions, IITs have fee waiver schemes available, unlike BITS.
Electrical at IIT BHU includes only the core electrical subjects which is why a lot of the students end up preparing for software/hardware companies for the placement with a decent package since there are few companies employing core electrical students. On the other hand, BITS Pilani has a combined electrical and electronics engineering course which provides students with the knowledge of both the areas as the industry demands so and also provides opportunities in various areas. So if you are interested in learning more and in-depth about the subject, BITS Pilani should be the choice. Being a private institute, they have very flexible and effective course structures.
Overall, both the institute has good faculties. However, when it comes to IIT BHU since it is an older institute, it has many well-experienced faculties. Moreover, IITs lead in the research facilities as well as in research work.
Both institutes provide good placement opportunities to their students. According to 2019 placement statistics, a total of 88 students got placed from Electrical in IIT BHU. The average CTC ranged between 10 LPA to 58.21 LPA. While in BITS Pilani the placement percentage of EEE was around 59.3% with an average CTC of 14.86 LPA. If you are interested in MS after B.Tech, then BITS-Pilani would be better. Though IITs are popular worldwide, it is better to have the BITS tag for doing MS. If you are planning for an M.Tech or research-oriented career in India, IIT BHU is better.
Both institutes offer a huge alumni network. BITS has many alumni working in foreign, international brands. However, the alumni network of IIT BHU is a little larger since it is older and its alumni are present in every possible career paths.
