The curriculum is revamped this year and the course has been made more flexible. The chemical engineering department at IIT Bombay has produced some of the best engineers in the country but most students opt for non-core placement in the field of finance, consultancy, etc. Overall the environment is good.
This course is really good for further learning and growth. Faculties are really nice and friendly. Faculties are highly qualified with most of them having their own Wikipedia pages. Exams are held at regular intervals and some of them are pretty difficult to pass
The campus placements happen after the end of the penultimate semester. The average package is rising. Roughly around 400-500 companies arrive in the placement season and the hiring rate is over 80 percent making it an incredible record.
Campus placements are there in the 7th semester of B-Tech people. A lot of companies come during the 2 phases of placement. The first phase goes on for 15 days in Dec. Around 90% of the students get placed.
This Callage is also known for placements. Students get highest placements here.From 3rd year ownwards student get placed for job.companies like Honda,axis bank,citibank, masterbank, HPCL, IOCL etc...and they made a offers between 7-18 lpa.In mechanical engineering highest package isa about 20lpa and average placement is arround 11lpa.There are more than 90% students got placed. I am planning to do start up after my degree.
Placements will be offered from a final semester of the 3rd year. Placements will be for ~7 days. Top companies will be coming on days 1 & 2. 85% of the students get an offer. The highest package was 2.1CPA and the average offer would be around 8 Lakhs.
