Curriculum of IIEST Shibpur is updated and same as all NITs of India. Because it comes under NIT Council. As you know that IIEST is 2nd oldest Engineering college of India, so it have a very large alumini relations so placement is good. And we have very much research facility in our college. Examinations are conducted on time as it is sheduled in the academic calendar so don't worry for that.

Cource curriculum is very good and faculty members are highly qualified and supportive. But the labs are pretty old as the college is very old. Renovation is being done. faculty-student ratio is like 1:30. 100% of the faculty are PHD degree holders and most of them are from top foreign university. Faculties are very passionate about teaching. Exams Are being conducted from time to time and result is also published timely. And the exams are quite difficult many students get supply in some subject, But if you attend the classes properly there will be no issue.

1.I choose this course as I am deeply interested in machines and engines. Studying quantum physics deeply is also a reason. 2. Faculty:student ratio is quite good here, it is 1:20 3.Almost all the faculties are here PHD holders and they have conducted research in various fields. Their teaching method is quite good. 4.We face two exams in each semester which is usually carried out just one month after beginning of the class.

I have taken Mechanical Engineering course here which is one of the best branch to study here with all the equipment and labs and decent placemens, Course curriculum is quite strict here academics are followed strictly research is heavily focused and all the faculty members are highly qualified and have done some commendable research in their fields, There is a healthy ratio of students to teacher and all of them are highly supportive. Terms exam is of moderate level and are taken timely, Each semester has two term exams one mid term and one end term exam.

Mechanical engineering is one of the best courses I could wish for. There are a lot of topics to explore. The faculty: student ratio is fine, no problem with that. Most of our faculties are highly qualified and some are from foreign, some are doing research. The teaching method is not equally friendly to everyone although everyone tries to give their student the most of it. But, I guess this will get better with time. The term exams were very short-timed. It was very hard to prepare for the exams.

Our college is famous for its core so I chose this college. The faculty-student ratio is quite low but their teaching experience makes them ideal for the students. In my first year, the time was too short to cover the syllabus but from next year I think there will be enough time for the student to go through.
IIEST, Shibpur formerly known as BESU is doing really well in all the departments. Whether it is about faculty or infrastructure it is growing steadily and gradually.
But as one wants to take a deeper look in comparing mechanical engineering, EE and ETC, let’s take a look on it:

Overall, NIT Durgapur is a better choice than IIEST Shibpur unless you are interested in research and want to pursue a career in the same.
Overall, go for the one that suits your needs and choices.
NIRF ranked Jadavpur University 12th in the top 100 universities and colleges of India. According to QS Asia rankings, it is ranked 136. Whereas, IIEST Shibpur has been ranked 19th by NIRF among the top colleges of India. As we know that IIEST Shibpur is one of the topmost engineering colleges in India and Jadavpur university is also making its mark so these colleges are often compared.

Anyone having any confusion has to which of the two is the best must-have got a clear idea of it by now for the above-mentioned comparisons.
The Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, formerly known as Bengal Engineering and Science University, is a premier technical institute in India that offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various engineering and science fields. The first year of the Mechanical Engineering program at IIEST, Shibpur, is a common curriculum for all engineering streams.
Here are the subjects taught in the first year of the Mechanical Engineering program at IIEST, Shibpur:
When you complete a course of four years normally, you complete your graduation with the fundamentals of your branch which allows you to pursue higher studies if they are in your interests. It also gives you the option, at the same time, to complete your undergraduate degree in another subject if you wish to.
If you want to pursue a dual course, it can probably put a dent in your freedom to pursue your interests and you will be ‘rewarded’ with the master’s degree. Another problem after receiving the master’s degree would be the confusion about looking for a job, pursuing a doctorate in the field of your interest(s).
The dual degree in mechanical will demand more dedication from you but the four-year degrees are easier compared to those. Mechanical engineering is a good option if going for higher studies is in your interests.
Both NIT Surathkal and IIEST Shibpur are amazing institutes and the departments of the mentioned branches are at their best. The deciding factor here is your branch of interest.

But when we compare placements in the CSE branch of IIEST Shibpur to the mechanical branch of NITK, IIEST Shibpur wins hands down. The decision here ultimately comes down to you. Consider all the above factors and choose wisely.
