The fees in NIT Durgapur is given by Rs 1,11,100 in 1st semester and Rs 90,600 in rest of the semesters for every B.Tech or Dual degree courses for general and above 5LPA family income category. For SC/ST/PH/Less than Rs 1LPA family income category, tuition fee(i.e. Rs 62,500 ) is 100% waived per semester. So they pay Rs 48,600 for first semester and Rs 28,100 for rest of each semesters. For candidates having family income in between Rs 1 to 5 LPA, 2/3rd of the tuition fee is waived(i.e. Rs 41,667 ). So they pay Rs 69,433 for first semester and Rs 48,993 for rest of each semester. I'll pay 41134 for sem. And yearly 82268 for course fee and hostel fee ki 20000 per sem Caution money is 5000 at starting no need to pay always. No lab fee. But for reports and many lab things should pay money. It is our choice.This is for OBC category. And for SC )ST/below one lakh income the sem fee is 20000 and per year 40000 and mess dee ki same for all the categories. Fee structure is categorised based on caste and income . If income is above 1lakh and below 5lakh then per year with hostel fee 125000 . For above 5 lakhs income hostel fee is same but there is change in course fee For them course fee is 80000 per sem that means course fee per year is 160000. Irrespective of income sc/st categories is below 1 lakh fee structure . Luckily no lab charges. Registration fee is course fee itself . There will be scholarships for below 1lakh and sc /st categories . Botha government and private scholarships available. Mainly student gets nsp scholarship .

The yearly fees that I am paying is 164000 excluding hostel fees, hostel fees is 34000 as I am OBC category I am paying 164000 and no ews if ews then college fees is 80000. And fees is constant for every year. And for Sc/St category college fees is 44000. And there are so many scholarships which have been applied by my friends.

So as per the fee structure of B tech 1st year 1st semester: Tuition fee - 62500 Admission fee - 3500 Caution money - 10000 Convocation fee - 1000 Alumni activity fee - 1000 Institute development fee - 2000 Training and placement fee - 1500 Lab fee - 2000 Library charge - 1200 Computing and Internet charge - 3000 Exam fee - 1200 Electricity and water charge - 1700 Student activity fee - 2500 Comprehensive insurance premium, health care and wellbeing charge - 1500 Hostel seat rent - 10000 Hostel establishment charge - 1500 Hostel caution money - 5000 Mess charge - 19000 Here, for sc/st/ph/family income<1 lakh, tuition fees is 100 percent waived and for students having family income between 1 to 5 lakh per annum, tuition fee is 2/3rd waived.... In 2nd semester, 48934 is takes as registration fees and 12280 as mess fee from me as I belong to the category of family income between 1 to 5 lakh.

Year wise i paying 56,200 Tution fee is(yearly) 116,600 but your family income is below 1 lakh you have to pay 1/3 (just like me) if family income between 1 to 5 lakh then you have to pay 2/3 and if more than 5 lakh you have pay all fee just like other nits. You can get scholarship according to your family income.

I paid a total of around 3lakhs lakhs for my admission and 1st year fees. The tuition fees is around 625000 The caution fee is 5000 The registration admission development lab fees in total makes up for approximately 50thousand. This is the fee for a general student who have an annual family income above 5lakhs There are various reductions in tuition fees as per your category and family income. There also are a few scholarship opportunities available from the college that can be applied and availed however i haven't applied for any so my total expense for 4year course would be approximately 8lakhs

If you are confused between NIT Durgapur and IIEST Shibpur, I will advise you to give priority to the branch of your choice and if you are getting both these institutes, then go through the following points before deciding

Campus life: NIT Durgapur has an amazing crowd and you will be surrounded by intellectuals who will help groom your personality. The institute spreads across 187 acres of greenish and clean campus.
Club culture: NIT Durgapur helps you find your passion through the large variety of clubs. You can pursue all kinds of non-academic passions here from dancing, acting, painting, debating, etc. NIT Durgapur has a total of 19 clubs promoting such activities.
Coding Culture: NIT Durgapur has a great coding culture and has a separate club that promotes a competitive coding culture in the college.

Which course is better...mechanical engineering dual degree at IIEST Shibpur or 4 years degree mechanical engineering degree at NIT DURGAPUR?

When you complete a course of four years normally, you complete your graduation with the fundamentals of your branch which allows you to pursue higher studies if they are in your interests. It also gives you the option, at the same time, to complete your undergraduate degree in another subject if you wish to.

If you want to pursue a dual course, it can probably put a dent in your freedom to pursue your interests and you will be ‘rewarded’ with the master’s degree. Another problem after receiving the master’s degree would be the confusion about looking for a job, pursuing a doctorate in the field of your interest(s).

The dual degree in mechanical will demand more dedication from you but the four-year degrees are easier compared to those. Mechanical engineering is a good option if going for higher studies is in your interests.
