Faculties are too good as all of them are someone who have n number of published research papers in their names. Our faculties set the toughest papers as they don't like mongering and they make sure they only set the papers based on what has been taught. So, if one pays attention to them, they will find it easy otherwise God save them.

The faculties are really skilled and educated, who try their best to share their knowledge with the younger generations. In a semester, two exams are conducted - one is mid-semester and the other is end-semester. All labs also have their exams and viva accordingly. Students who could not perform well get supplement and have to reappear the test. Overall experience is good and healthy. 75% attendance in each course is mandatory.

Faculty to student relationship is pretty professional. Professors are easily approachable at their respective cabins. You can ask doubts in college timings. I liked Prof. Nirupam Ghosh because of his calm and composed method of teaching. There are two exams conducted every semester, mid sem and end sem exams. These exams are approachable by learning something every day. Course curriculum is relevant in modern placement scenario.

The faculty is good but I think it can be better . It would be good if they explain in more detailed and practical way .. Yeah I got to know many new things but also it lacks to provide or fill the things you are having problems with !!

The faculty to student ratio is quite good. The professors are quite approachable for asking any academic doubts or anything else. Due to obvious reasons we cannot openly speak about the names of the professors but all I can say is that they are very helpful. But sometimes they can be quite strict. Like for attendance or submission of assignments. Two exams are held one is midterm and one is end term. The midterm is of 30 marks and the anthem is a 50 marks. The remaining 20 marks includes attendance assignments and class tests. Truly speaking the course curriculum is quite old and not up to the latest standards. The exams are generally manageable and the students can easily pass if they study hard. The students have to be willing to put effort on their own for learning new things and skills as they would be required for getting any job or internships.

Faculty to students ratio is also good and relationship if you are good with your professor then it is okk but If your are not then it is problem for you but facilities are all well qualified and abroad returns. Labs and others thing are also good every 1.5 months we have or mid of end term exam classes are hactic but manageable as I mentioned. If you focus the thing what teacher taught then it is okk but if you not then it is problem for you then may be you get supply.

The student to faculty ratio is quite bad , it is 94:1( for each subjects) . The teachers are helpful and encourages us to ask questions. We have Averi Mukhopadhyay who is our teacher of professional communication in English and I like the way she teaches . The one teacher who I don't like is Prof.Niloy Khutia , he is our mechanics teacher . The reason I don't like his lectures because I don't understand the way he teaches !

Faculty of the Department of Information Technology are the best of this college and they are very helpfull . Course Structure of the Department of Information Technology are the best as compase to the Department of Computer Science of Technolgy. Exam System are very good and professors and TA are very stricted. Marking schemes of this college are depends on professor
There are several professors in IIEST, Shibpur who are good. One of my friends studies in the CST department of IIEST. I can name some of the best professors in the department.
Therefore, the IIEST has many good professors other than these. They are all professional and skilled in their respective subjects and you will learn a lot from them.
IT at IIEST Shibpur can be good but you need to utilize the opportunities you get properly. The infrastructure at the institute is good. Microsoft also recruits students from campus placements. In the past students have bagged good internship opportunities. One of the students was accepted for Google California (Internship). Compared to the CSE, the IT branch is a little behind in terms of salary packages offered. However, this branch has good diversity.
Faculties for CSE and IT branches are comparable and the IT department even has better faculty members for a few of the subjects. The main difference between CSE and IT is that IT is a sandwich branch of CST and Electronics. So, naturally, you will need to study some Electronics subjects too. For Communication Systems, the IT branch does not have decent faculties. Adding to that, the subject is also not that useful for the future. Despite that this subject eats a chunk of the time of IT students.
Another difference is CST introduces important subjects like algorithms in the 2nd year itself. Whereas, IT introduces these topics one year later.
Basically, the essence is the same for the two branches, there are some minor differences in curriculum and lab work. How you do in placements depends on your hard work.
My brother pursued Mechanical Engineering from IIEST Shibpur. IIEST, Shibpur Mechanical Department has an excellent set of faculties, but some of them are known to be a little strict. But, their temper and strictness depend on how you behave with them and how much attention you pay in their lectures. Otherwise, they are found to be completely student-friendly.
The strictness of the professors is listed below in decreasing order.
You should note that this list does not reflect their teaching style or knowledge by any means. It is completely based on how strict they are about attending the classes regularly. Hope the information given in the answer is helpful.
IIEST Shibpur is a well-known institute in India. Although it has faced some challenges in recent years, it has been making progress. Aerospace Engineering is the newest department at IIEST, having been established in 2011 by branching out from the Mechanical Engineering Department. Despite being a small batch, the department has a lot of potential.
It's important to note that ranking colleges based solely on placements is not always accurate. Research output is often a more important criterion to consider.
IIEST Shibpur has better faculty and facilities than SRM, and at a much lower cost. So, if you're looking for an Aerospace Engineering college, IIEST Shibpur is worth considering.
The IT courses at IIIT Allahabad are top-notch unlike CSE at BITS, Pilani’s. As CSE and IT are different courses and since you say that college doesn't matter to you it comes down to choosing between the subjects. IIEST Shibpur is doing great too in its infrastructure; placements and alumni base. The CST department has done great in the field of placements with 90% student placements in IIEST Shibpur. The highest was about 48 LPA from DirectI and the average package was around 8 LPA.

Notable Foreign Internships at IIEST Shibpur:
In short CSE deals with the scientific study of computers and its research applications but IT deals with the industrial applications of the same science.
With the above information, I hope it will help you in clearing your point of view to opt between the colleges eventually.
