Faculty is very effective with a Faculty Student ratio of 1:20 overall and around 1:15 for Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering department. The classes are spacious and well equipped. Almost every faculty has pursued their PhDs and are involved in active research and consultancy practices. In general the professors are highly approachable be it for academic purposes or otherwise.

The faculty to student ratio is very good here, nearly there is 1 faculty for every 6 students which seems to be good. Having a proper ratio of faculty to students increases the efficiency of teaching and learning. This reduces pressure on both the faculty and the students deu to which they can perform on their best potentials. It increases and eases the interaction of student with the professors. All the faculty here are highly qualified, experienced and trained well in their respective fields, most of them have positive attitude towards teaching and educating students. When it comes to mentorship and guidance to student one need to approach them because generally carrearguidance and mentorship is not given during class hours. Some of the professors are approachable and the interaction with them is also fruitful for the students, also there some professors who are not approachable at all and they do not care at all.

Our department consists of 60 students and there are around 10 professors that teach us 5 subjects in our second year, the professors are very friendly and easy to approach. They are also some of the most qualified professors graduating from IITs and other top tier institutions

Faculty members are highly experienced and ratio is also well mantained. They focus on student's knowledge rather than their grades. Approaching the teacher is also quiet easy and they are helpful as well

Faculty-to-student ratio in first year was 1:90. Sometimes faculties would bring in assistants, which made the ratio 3:90. There were two or more faculties for each subject in a class of 90 students. The faculties are all PhD holders. They are knowledgeable in their subjects. They will help you out and will not turn you down if you need extra help. They teach you in a very simple way, and if you follow your course properly, you wouldn't have a problem grasping it. From my personal experience, I had some trouble in Chemistry. I went to my prof's office where he was busy with some other work. But he immediately helped me out without hesitation. So profs here are quite friendly and approachable.

The faculties and it's qualification have no doubt, they are from the best places and they have immense knowledge but, some teachers has no ability to teach in better manner.
There are several professors in IIEST, Shibpur who are good. One of my friends studies in the CST department of IIEST. I can name some of the best professors in the department.
Therefore, the IIEST has many good professors other than these. They are all professional and skilled in their respective subjects and you will learn a lot from them.
IT at IIEST Shibpur can be good but you need to utilize the opportunities you get properly. The infrastructure at the institute is good. Microsoft also recruits students from campus placements. In the past students have bagged good internship opportunities. One of the students was accepted for Google California (Internship). Compared to the CSE, the IT branch is a little behind in terms of salary packages offered. However, this branch has good diversity.
Faculties for CSE and IT branches are comparable and the IT department even has better faculty members for a few of the subjects. The main difference between CSE and IT is that IT is a sandwich branch of CST and Electronics. So, naturally, you will need to study some Electronics subjects too. For Communication Systems, the IT branch does not have decent faculties. Adding to that, the subject is also not that useful for the future. Despite that this subject eats a chunk of the time of IT students.
Another difference is CST introduces important subjects like algorithms in the 2nd year itself. Whereas, IT introduces these topics one year later.
Basically, the essence is the same for the two branches, there are some minor differences in curriculum and lab work. How you do in placements depends on your hard work.
My brother pursued Mechanical Engineering from IIEST Shibpur. IIEST, Shibpur Mechanical Department has an excellent set of faculties, but some of them are known to be a little strict. But, their temper and strictness depend on how you behave with them and how much attention you pay in their lectures. Otherwise, they are found to be completely student-friendly.
The strictness of the professors is listed below in decreasing order.
You should note that this list does not reflect their teaching style or knowledge by any means. It is completely based on how strict they are about attending the classes regularly. Hope the information given in the answer is helpful.
IIEST Shibpur is a well-known institute in India. Although it has faced some challenges in recent years, it has been making progress. Aerospace Engineering is the newest department at IIEST, having been established in 2011 by branching out from the Mechanical Engineering Department. Despite being a small batch, the department has a lot of potential.
It's important to note that ranking colleges based solely on placements is not always accurate. Research output is often a more important criterion to consider.
IIEST Shibpur has better faculty and facilities than SRM, and at a much lower cost. So, if you're looking for an Aerospace Engineering college, IIEST Shibpur is worth considering.
The IT courses at IIIT Allahabad are top-notch unlike CSE at BITS, Pilani’s. As CSE and IT are different courses and since you say that college doesn't matter to you it comes down to choosing between the subjects. IIEST Shibpur is doing great too in its infrastructure; placements and alumni base. The CST department has done great in the field of placements with 90% student placements in IIEST Shibpur. The highest was about 48 LPA from DirectI and the average package was around 8 LPA.
