This is not the best course I would say but according to my rank this was the best branch and the college is obviously very good . There is a 1:10 faculty member and faculty members are good . Exams are too frequent and ther are 4 exams in 1 year i.e. 2 in every semester
I don't know about Aerospace engineering (my department) just I got the department in IIEST I choose it (yeah, you can say I prefer this college over NIT DGP) Talking about the faculty-student ratio -- 19:48 (roughly about 2: 5 ) If you look at the qualifications of faculties all of them are Ph.D. holders and teaching for the past 10-15 years. The review of Teaching faculties is very very friendly, till now I have not met any faculty whose behavior is rough and don't care about students.
I choose aerospace dept. Because I am interested to serve in ISRO AND DRDO and to know about space shuttles. The faculty of this college are excellent and very friendly with students. They all are qualified with MTech and Ph.D. degrees from different IITs There is 2 exam in sem, mid sem, and end. sem And after that viva voce, practical exams are conducted. The total strength of this dept. Go around 45 too.50 students. Every year
1. I choose Aerospace because I was interested in this and this is one of the rare national-level colleges to provide this course apart from 4 IITs. 2. There are sufficient faculties in each department separately for teaching. 3 . The professors are well qualified. Many of them have done Ph.D. from different IITs and NITs and also taught there. 4. Each semester has 2 exams mid-sem and End-sem. The paper is of a moderate level and is based on topics taught by professors.
I have the enthusiasm to see beyond the space that's why I choose this branch. Faculty: student ratio is 1:4.Every faculty possess a Ph.D. from reputed colleges in India or abroad. The teaching process is very good. The term exams were 4 months after & the difficulty level is moderate.
I chose this course because of my interest in space ,satellites and all sorts of things. I was fascinated by the fact that many of the earthly problems can be solved from space like communication gap ,weather forecast, intelligence during surveillance .
Course curriculum is too good and faculty members are also phd holders and they are well qualified and i gave them 4stars from 5 , exam are basis on semester wise and montly test and class tests are also taken.
The curriculum of the college is the latest and up to date all the industrial information and knowledge is covered in the curriculum. The curriculum is designed to provide all the collaborative information regarding aerospace technology. The curriculum is flexible and helps us to understand the concept in detail. The faculty is the one that helps us to understand the curriculum in detail and deeply. The faculty are mostly PhD and they have completed their PhD program from the best institute in India. The faculty is highly experienced and they are completely aware of our mentality and help us to understand every concepts properly.
One of my elder brothers has completed his B.E degree in Aerospace from BESU, Shibpur.
As per him, Aerospace Engineering is the youngest Department and lacks of proper infrastructure. He also mentioned the poor planning, and except for some professors, other teachers do not have even the knowledge about what they are teaching. However, professors with proper subject knowledge are just awesome; rather, they are the coolest professors in this institute.
Additionally, the positive thing about this institute is that all the professors have a logical mindset. They are always prepared to do any sort of experimentation related to the course. They are always ready to implement any practicable criticism that may approach their way to research.
Moreover, the term “worthwhile” is much related to campus recruitment. Considering this, my elder brother honestly told me that if a student wants to engage with Aerospace Engineering, it is better than going for a higher study. This is so because the institute does not provide any job opportunity after completing M.Tech.
Aerospace Engineering is a new stream in India and if you wants to establish in this field, then it is better to try foreign universities. It is because India still not have a good infrastructure for the development of its own aerospace industry. Besides, the private organisations that offer a job in India are comparatively very low than Russia, Germany and France. The only sole organisation is Hindustan Aeronautics, and it does not have any competitors.
Thus, the student must choose to study Aerospace Engineering very wisely, and they must analyse future job perspectives first.
Seeing your interest in both branches, IIEST has a wide scope of diverse cultures and you will find many students from all over the nation.
IIEST Shibpur offers great exposure in terms of academics as well as extra-curricular activities along with the interactive clubs and fun happening fests. It comes under the Government of India and is one of the NIT.
However, Aerospace Engineering is not a trending branch anymore and it was in the limelight a decade ago. To open up more opportunities, you will be required to pursue a Master’s or prepare for the competitive exams to get a decent job.
ECE at Heritage Institute is more prominent but being a private college, it is not up to the mark as compared to Aerospace Engineering. The placement opportunities at HIT are not good. Therefore, all you can do is to opt for IIEST, get a decent aggregate, and change the branch from Aerospace to ECE in the second year.
