Curriculum is absolutely relevant. It is in detail as it requires to gain a deep understanding. IIT prepares well for placement. Regular tests send assessment and labs makes it interesting and more practical.

I chose this coursensince this was the one i got alloted during josaa councelling, on an average one student handles 200 students and the faculty have great way of teaching, coming to exams they are perfectly held on time and they include questions direct from notes given by professors

IIT Kharagpur is one of India's most prestigious engineering colleges and getting admissioned in a course here is like a dream. The environment, infrastructure and facilities here are amazing. There are around 400 highly qualified PhD holder professors teaching around 12000 students. The professors here are regularly active in research projects. Every professor has their own unique way of teaching. In one semester there are two main exams, the mid-semester exams which consist of 30% of the total marks and the end-semester exams which consist of 50% of total marks. 20% marks are carried by internal assessments done before mid-semester and end-semester exams. The exams are relatively tougher than that of other engineering colleges but a little hardwork can get you good grades.

1. Because I'm preparing for only JEE Advanced one more thing is always I want to be an engineer mainly an IITian. 2. 1:80 3. They're very very well in their own field. They're very genius. If they teached you then nothing is left to remember. 4. 3 months for semester and yes because this is an IIT so you can imagine how difficulty level they have in their questions

I chose this course because of my keen interest in Metallurgical and Material Sciences. The faculties and professors are very helpful and supportive. They are highly knowledgeable in their respective fields.
There is 2 exam mainly for each subject mid-semester and end semester and it is easy to pass the exam. Sometimes when professors need to take more tests they also take several tests from their side faculty is highly educated and well-equipped. Here is sufficient faculty to help students and they are ready to help you every time and they are readily accessible.
Because This was the course which I love to study and also I was suitable for my rank. faculty:student ratio=1:19 They are highly qualified almost all had done Ph.D.'s. The teaching method is dependent on each teacher and most teachers doesn't get a chance to share their knowledge in great detail because of Less TIme but If you ask them questions or doubts outside class hours they will definitely give you much more knowledge. There are total 4 major exams in one year and If you want to just pass it maybe say around 6-8 pointers then you can just study for 10 days but If you want above that then you have to regularly attend lectures (to just get overall idea and concept of topic) and study regularly to get 8 above pointer. But the curriculum is designed in such a way that you have to study whether there are exams or not.
I chose metallurgical department because famous alumina of IIT Kharagpur was from this department. Pros: Maximum faculty members are PhD from reputed university. They are extremely knowledgeable and they clarify our doubts . Cons: The teaching of maximum professors is not so interesting .There is lot of pressure of academics including numerous test ,assignment and quizzes.
Opting for Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar is a better choice than moving for metallurgy at IIT Kharagpur as:
