The hostel facility is okayish every hostel has some or the other problem be it lack of renovation in the older hostels to the irregular supply of water in the newer hostels. but the fees asked for the hostels is also compensatory. like the hostels are liveable for the price they ask for. the meal quality is good. i in 3 years never found any sort of quality issues in the food. but the way they make use of the material, thefood is barely just edible. like the workers know very less of how to make food.

The hostel is good it has gym, tv room, volley ball court, badminton court, study room. The mess facility is also decent they really focus on balanced meals. There is just one issue that the out time is really restricted you can't go out after 6 pm.

So in first year 3seater or 4 seater rooms are alloted and for first year students only two hostel are there one KBH for boys and AGH for girls . The meal quality overall is decent and taste of food is also decent can't expect much from hostel mess . The deserds are served 5 days a week including gulab jamun and rosgolae which are always tasty . If u rent a local PG then it's destined to be more expensive then hostel

There are around 12 hostels in our college 8 boys hostel and 4 girls hostel. In the first yer we are alloted with three and four students sharing a room. The mess food is good , they have a fixed menu built by our representatives in Mess Committee.
Hostel life at NIT Hamirpur is similar to that of any other college. Since my brother recently passed out from NIT Hamirpur, I have a better idea of this.
The facilities and rooms do not define the quality of your hostel life but the friends you make there do!
The first-year students of NIT Hairpur are assigned to the Kailash Boys Hostel earlier had triple occupancy rooms. From 2019, the rooms became 4 seater. So you won't be getting single or double occupancy rooms in the first year. Here are some pictures of Kailash Boys Hostel as requested by you.

Some basic facilities in this hostel include a common TV room, a badminton court, a TT room, a gym, a reading room, and a volleyball court.
Depending on your year, you’ll be allotted one of these hostels at NIT Hamirpur-
Mrs. Awasthi is a bit strict as a warden, Mrs. Kaur is nice and helpful. You will be allotted either of them. The mess food is quite decent in both the girls’ hostels, much better than the boys’ hostels.
Thus, overall, girls’ hostels at NIT Hamirpur are quite decent.
The Kailash Boys hostel for freshers of NIT Hamirpur, has various blocks. The old ones are- A, B, C, D, and the new one is E. The old blocks have a good LAN network facility. The LAN network can be turned into WiFi network using cmd. E block has a decent Wi-Fi facility, however, there are some rooms where the network connectivity may be poor.
But overall, block E is better. This is because it has bigger, well-maintained newer rooms. Each of its rooms has 3 fans, 1 per bed.
Overall, facility-wise, E block is better. On the other hand, the older blocks provide better internet connectivity. You can easily shift to an older block later on, by submitting an application.
My cousin recently enrolled in NIT Hamirpur and definitely loves the state-of-the-art facilities. It provides and its modern infrastructure. It has excellent facilities in its 320 acres area which includes a computer centre, a library with over 100,000 books, an auditorium, a guest house, sports grounds, solar heaters, hostels, gym, and of course- lifts.
NIT Hamirpur has a lift facility in the departments which offer UG programs. Some more lifts have been added in some of the newly built hostels which are for students in the second year and beyond, much Iike NIT Nagpur has a lift in the new academic block and the new hostel.
Another point here, the New Hostels are for girls and boys in the first year, only.
