green and spacius campus , the lush green and spacius campus create a pleasent and inspiring atmosphere for students.
carrer workshop and seminars: there is strong emphasis on practical learning which heelps better understanding theory.

Dislikes

hostel facilities: some administrative processes can be beauracratc and slow , requring improvement for efficiency.
hostel facility: while generally adequate ,same hostel could benifit from renovation and better maintenence to improve living condition of students.

Admission:

there is no such eligibility criteria but one is through jee mains , u need to score a good enough rank and get admission here, reservation is fo state , caste , and pwd students also . admission counselling s done through josaa.

NIT Rourkela journey

Campus is soo beautiful and very large size
Environment is soo cool and well cleaned.

Hostel rooms are soo small and unfurnished also.
Mess food charges are high and sometimes tastes bad.

For masters in mathematics, we gave IIT jam exam . The cut off was below 1000 rank only in mathematics department. The exam was not much difficult.Difficulty level was average. Admission process was quite simple .

The mess fees seems to be very much as compared to other government college.

The NET or gate exam is required along with other criteria fulfilment by UGC for admission to PhD programs in NIT Rourkela. Then according to the project and marks the panel decide about the admission of the students.

You get a comprehensive study environment. Top notch equipmentare provided. Heathy competition is encouraged.

Mess food quality is not upto the mark. rooms are clumsy

Any one who qualified JEE mains can get a seat in NIT. counselling for seat allocationa is done by josaa. Reservation benefits are also there. JEE is a moderate level exam with high competition. least cutoff for a seat in nitr is around 1Lakh all india rank

Factual and practical review

Wonderful and Beautiful Campus and infrastructure.
The hostel mess food quality is nice and healthy.

In my department at that time there were shortage of professor, so we got very less elective core courses.
Strictness about the class attendance. There is around 85% attendance compulsory.

NIT Rourkela, EIE department, and male SC category student JEE main cutoff are around 1lakh in home state Odisha. The application date is just after the JEE Advance exam results. JEE exam difficulty is high. Do counseling properly with an experienced person or get help from them.

Is nitrkl worth it?

Good green nature and environment. Last green campus.
Placements are good for most of the branches especially circuital branches ( cse, ece, ei, ee)

Once you get a backlog cause of any reason, its quite difficult and costly process to get passed again. It involves a lot of strict rules and regulations.
No much visiting places. No fast transport for south indians mainly. Tours and long trips are only for richees.

I got seat in cse from CSAB - the final most round of JOSAA counselling. My AIR rank was 4321 in Jee mains and 10929 in jee advance. I come under gen-ews category, still I received thhis seat in open category. I guess the cutoff could be 4500 for general male.

Infrastructure. we got some very good architecture in our most of the buildings
club culture. we have more than 50 clubs to get into

attendence. we have to maintain a 85% attendence which is high than most of the colleges
faculty. here most of the doesnot care what you learn or not they just want assignment

To get admission in NIT/IIT you have to go through JEE MAINS/ADVANCE exam. After securing a rank in these exam you have to apply for JOSAA Councelling through which you will be allotted a college and a department as per your preference and rank. In NIT there are Many types of reservation, one of them are cast reservation. If you are SC, ST, OBC you get benefits in councelling such a getting a higher choice with the same rank. JEE MAINS are conducted twice every year and JEE ADVANCED only once a year, and JEE ADVANCED is much harder than JEE MAINS.

Honest review of NIT Rourkela

First thing that I liked there is the club culture which provides high level guidance and enhances the opportunities
The college has the top notch labs with world class facilities.

The climate of the region is very unpleasant.

We were admitted to this college by writing JEE mains 2023. I got the Industrial Design branch at this college for having the all India rank 29391 in the JEE mains. The application form is the exam could be found at the website of NTA.

Nit Rourkela: college review

The environment is great and you'll meet the top students of India with brilliant minds. You'll learn a lot throughout your journeyney
Faculty and professors are helpful and they try to resolve student's doubt.

Specially for girls ( if you get cvr hall of residence you will have to share a your room. The room are not spacious enough to occupy two people. Sadly, you have to manage with that
As in any other college, there will some days when you feel zonism is there. ( people will prioritize oria people)

You can get admission through your jee mains rank. Josaa provides a platform through which you can get admission in any nit/ iit. Based on yearly cut- off of your respective branches, you will get the required seat. You just need to fill your priority list by seeing the previous year cut- off. The cut- off hardly varies. So, there are high chances of you getting your desired branch if you have filled according to the previous year cut - off. Then you can directly come to the campus berify your documents and you will be admitted. It's quite simple process.

Best review of college.

Every 1st year students are provided with a mentor that helps them in every perspective of their college life.
The campus is vast full of greenery and lakes.

The mess food is quite disappointing but if you avail for garden green mess it's food is so good.
There is no western style toilets in any hostel except few.

You can join this college by passing the JEE Mains exam which is held twice a year. On the basis of your rank, you will be given the choice of college and courses. The cutoff of this exam is increasing year by year. Once you qualify for the exams the counselling process is quite smooth.
