- Infrastructure. we got some very good architecture in our most of the buildings
- club culture. we have more than 50 clubs to get into
Dislikes
- attendence. we have to maintain a 85% attendence which is high than most of the colleges
- faculty. here most of the doesnot care what you learn or not they just want assignment
Course Curriculum Overview :
I got Civil department as per my rank in JEE MAINS. In 1st year, To be honest these course don't prepare us for any kind of practical application, thay only focus on theory. These should be less burden on students on the topic that are irrelevant to our department. Exam here are held in two parts midsemester and endsemester.
Internships Opportunities :
as far i get to know from seniors most students get internship but very few of them get pain internship.to get a interview in a good company students goes through aptitude tests and some other kind of tests
Placement Experience :
mostly in the ending 6th semster companies visit out campus offering campus placements to the eligible students. in our college top companies like Google, microsoft, facebook come to recruit students and they give huge packages. in recent year google gave a offer of 84lacs which is highest placement in that year. here 95% students who apply gets placed in the commpanies. i am also thinking of getting placement after getting the degree
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
generally we dont get hikes in any kind of fees but recently we got a huge hike in mess fees of 14000 due to change of mess caterer. our paymment is done on semester wise since we have 8 semester so adding all of the expenditure the total cost makes upto 8,20,000 excluding personal expenditures. if someones annnual income is less than 1lac per annum then he/she gets 100% tution fee waive and that same goes for sc/st students. sorry but i have not enough knowledge about it.
Campus Life :
we have 4 major fest i.e "innovision" the tech fest in november , "cosmopolitian" the cultural fest in january, "niturutsav" the official fest NITR held in february, and a celebrity night occuring in april every year. we have a vast variety of books available in our central llibrary and we have access to them anytime. we dont have that great opportunities in soprts here beacuse of funding problem, the grounds are not well managed, not good equipments. we have an social help club named "aasra" which do the work of teaching and helping poor childs which eventually helps student to see a different of point of view of world..
Hostel Facilities :
we have a study table, a bed, lan connection thats it we offered in our rooms. meal quality as expected cant be great in any hostels so we have also poor quality of food and menu is also not good but it only enough to survive once you are done with admission process you get alloted a hostel and after reaching hostel you will be alloted a room and a room partner. i dont have knowledge of any rnted pgs near by
Admission :
To get admission in NIT/IIT you have to go through JEE MAINS/ADVANCE exam. After securing a rank in these exam you have to apply for JOSAA Councelling through which you will be allotted a college and a department as per your preference and rank. In NIT there are Many types of reservation, one of them are cast reservation. If you are SC, ST, OBC you get benefits in councelling such a getting a higher choice with the same rank. JEE MAINS are conducted twice every year and JEE ADVANCED only once a year, and JEE ADVANCED is much harder than JEE MAINS.
Faculty :
we have a good quantity of faculty so according to me faculty to student ratio is around 1:60. our faculties are highly qualified and most of them have done their PhD in respective domains but they lack in making thinngs interesting so i find their teching methods are not that great. we can approach faculties in their respective offices in given office slots
