JEE Advanced Result 2024: IIT Madras has announced the JEE Advanced 2024 results. Candidates can check and download their scorecards by logging into the JEE Advanced candidate portal at jeeadv.ac.in. Candidates must enter their 10-digit phone number, date of birth in the DD/MM/YYYY format, and 7-digit roll number from their JEE Advanced registration to download their JEE Advanced 2024 scorecard. Once logged in, the result tab will be active, and candidates can click on the JEE Advanced result link to view their scores.The candidate's results from the IIT JEE Advanced exam, the Common Rank List (CRL), and the Category Rank list will make up their JEE Advanced 2024 scorecard.

Candidates from general categories must obtain at least 75% of the total marks to secure admissions to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Candidates from reserved categories must obtain at least 65% of the total marks to secure admissions to IITs, NITs and GFTIs.  Seat allocation in JEE Advanced 2024 will be determined exclusively by the category-specific All India Rank. Additionally, the authorities will make the results and JEE Advanced topper list available on the official IIT JEE Advanced website. The JEE Advanced 2024 exam was held on May 26 at IIT Madras. 

  • JEE Advanced 2024 cutoff for inclusion in the rank list is set at 35% for CRL, 31.5% for OBC-NCL/ EWS and 17.5% for SC/ ST/ PwD.
  • An 80+ score is considered a good score in JEE Advanced 2024. However, a 320+ score is required to get AIR 1 in IIT JEE 2024.
  • Candidates who qualify for the JEE Advanced Result 2024 are eligible for admission to 17000 seats in 23 IITs through JoSAA counselling.

JEE Advanced Result 2024: Tie Breaker Policy

If two or more candidates score the same marks in JEE Advanced 2024, then the below-mentioned tie-breaking rule is going to be followed to determine the ranks of the candidates:

  • In case of a tie, candidates having higher positive marks in JEE Advanced result 2024 are going to be awarded a higher rank.
  •  If a tie still persists, candidates having more marks in Mathematics will be given a higher rank.
  • If a tie still persists, candidates with more marks in Physics will be given a higher rank.
  • If the tie is not resolved yet, candidates will be given the same JEE Advanced rank.
JEE Advanced Score Calculation

JEE Advanced Score Calculation

The authority will consider those candidates who have appeared for Paper 1 and Paper 2 in JEE Advanced for inclusion in the common rank list (CRL). Marks obtained in Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be taken while the rank is calculated by the concerned authorities. The example is mentioned below:

Marks obtained in Physics = Marks obtained in Paper 1 (Physics) + Marks obtained in Paper 2 (Physics)

Similar methods will be used for calculating total marks for Mathematics and Chemistry. The aggregate marks for JEE Advanced will be calculated using the following formula:

Aggregate Marks/Scores obtained in JEE Advanced = Aggregate marks in (Physics + Mathematics + Chemistry)

The rank list of JEE Advanced 2024 will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination. Only candidates who score the minimum prescribed marks in each subject and in aggregate will be included in the rank list.


How is the JEE Advanced Result Prepared?

The procedure that is followed by the authorities to prepare the JEE Advanced Result 2024 is listed below for your reference, 

  • Candidates' marks from Papers 1 and 2 in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry will be tallied separately. It indicates that a candidate's grades from both Physics papers will be added to determine their final mark for the subject. Chemistry and Mathematics will be taught in the same manner.
  • The authorities will calculate the students' overall scores or marks in JEE Advanced 2024 based on applicants' marks in each topic.
  • JEE Advanced ranks 2024 will be given to applicants based on their marks. To be considered for the common rank list (CRL), candidates must appear in both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Candidates who appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are going to be considered for JEE Advanced 2024 rank list. IIT Guwahati will release separate rank lists for General, EWS, SC/ST, OBC candidates. JEE Advanced 2024 rank list is prepared considering the minimum marks in each subject and the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Only candidates with a minimum percentage of marks in each subject and in aggregate will be eligible to be included in the Rank List. The minimum criteria required to be included in JEE Advanced 2024 rank list has been mentioned below.
