JEE Advanced 2024 Exam Day Guidelines have been released by the IIT Madras along with the admit card. As per the guidelines, if you are appearing for the exam on May 26, you must carry a printed copy JEE Advanced 2024 admit card with a valid original photo ID card.

  • The entry time for Paper 1 is from 7:30 am to 8:30 am and for Paper 2, you need to report from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
  • Candidates are prohibited from carrying any sheet as one Scribble Pad for doing rough work/calculations will be provided at the start of each paper.

Specific instructions have been issued regarding the dress code for JEE Advanced 2024. Candidates can only wear open sandals and chappals. Avoid wearing long sleeve dresses and pants with too many pockets. It is recommended to wear light and short-sleeved clothes without any fancy designs.

Note: Any candidate arriving at the JEE Advanced exam center after the exam begins, he/she will not be allowed to take the exam under any circumstances. The main entrance of the examination center will be closed at 9:00 am for Paper 1 and at 2:30 pm for Paper 2.

JEE Advanced 2024 admit card is available for download on the official website. The following are a few guidelines regarding JEE Advanced admit card:

  • Download the admit card the JEE Advanced 2024 official website, jeeadv.nic.in.
  • Verify your admit card important details like your Name, Roll number for JEE (Advanced) 2024, signature, date of birth, photograph, address for correspondence and category. In case of any discrepancy, you must contact the Chairperson, JEE (Advanced) 2024 of the respective Zonal coordinating IIT.
  • Report at the allotted exam time mentioned in the admit card.

Reporting Time

JEE Advanced 2024 exam center will open from 7:00 am. It is advised to reach the allotted center on time as you will have to go through an extensive security check before entering the exam hall. Frisking of female candidates will be done compulsorily by the staff at the center.

Dress Code for Male and Female

JEE Advanced Dress Code for Male and Female

Candidates appearing foJEE Advanced 2024 have to follow the dress code to ensure fairness in the exam and avoid any scope of unfair practices. JEE Advanced dress code for males and females are given below:

  • Candidates are advised NOT to wear charm/taweez, items containing metals such as ring, bracelet, earrings, nose pin, chain/necklace, pendant, badge, or brooch.
  • It is recommended for female candidates to wear light and breathable kurti with jeans or legging.For male candidates, half sleeves t-shirt, and pants without pockets are recommended. Clothes with big buttons are strictly prohibited to wear.
  • Wear only open footwear like chappals and sandals.

JEE Advanced 2024: Item Allowed at the Exam Center

The following items are allowed to carry at the exam center:

  • A printout of the downloaded JEE Advanced admit card and any valid original photo identity card ( Aadhaar Card, School/College/Institute ID, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, Notarized Certificate with photograph).
  • From stationary items, you can carry only pens and pencils.
  • Candidates are allowed to carry drinking water in a transparent bottle.

JEE Advanced 2024: Items NOT Allowed at the Exam Center

  • Electronic gadgets like watches, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers, health bands.
  • Any printed/blank/hand written paper, log tables, writing pads, scales, eraser, geometry/pencil-boxes, pouches, calculators, pen drives, electronic pens/Scanner, wallets, handbags, camera, goggles or similar such items.

  • Report the exam center in advance to complete the required formalities like security check and providing the documents for verification purposes.
  • Read the questions carefully before answering as there is a negative marking of -2 for MSQs and -1 for MCQs.
  • You can shuffle between sections as per your preference. While shuffling between questions, click on “Mark for Review & Next” from the question palette displayed on the right side of your screen. The question palette will show the status of each question as the following symbols.
