  • This year, the exam was held in two sessions for the first time, similar to JEE Main.
  • Session 1 was held in April 2026, and Session 2 was held in May 2026.
  • The exam has two groups, PCM for engineering and PCB for pharmacy and agriculture.
  • There is no negative marking in the MHT CET exam.
  • The result uses a normalisation process to give percentile scores.
  • Your best score out of the two attempts is used for counselling.
  • More than 7 lakh candidates appear for MHT CET every year.

MHT CET 2026 Two-Session Update: What Changed?

  • New Two-Session Format: For the first time, the MHT CET 2026 was held in two separate sessions—similar to the JEE Main—giving students a second chance to improve their scores.
  • Best Score Counts: Students could choose to take one or both sessions, and the CET Cell will use their highest score for the final admission and counselling process.
  • Fair Percentile System: Because the exam had multiple shifts, a normalisation formula is used to balance difficulty levels, meaning the final scorecard displays percentiles instead of raw marks.
  • A Helpful Safety Net: Unlike previous single-session years, this new system prevents students from losing an entire year over one bad exam day by allowing them to rely on their better attempt.

How to Check your MHT CET 2026 Result?

MHT CET 2026 Answer Key

The MHT CET 2026 answer key was released in two stages: a provisional key and a final key. The provisional PCM key came out on May 20, followed by the final answer key for both groups on May 30, 2026.

By matching the answer key with your response sheet, you can calculate your expected score. There is no negative marking: PCM gives 2 marks for Math and 1 mark each for Physics and Chemistry, while PCB gives 1 mark per correct answer.

If you found an error in the provisional key, you could challenge it by submitting an objection and paying a fee. The CET Cell reviews all submissions before releasing the final answer key, which is used to calculate the results.

How is the MHT CET 2026 Percentile Calculated?

A normalisation process is used to balance different shift difficulties and ensure fair scoring for everyone.

  • Your percentile indicates the percentage of students you scored higher than or equal to, with the top scorer in each shift getting a 100th percentile.
  • Percentiles are calculated separately for PCM and PCB groups, meaning your rank depends entirely on your performance against others in your specific group.
