CUET UG Result 2026: Normalisation Process
The CUET UG Result 2026 normalisation process balances scores across different exam sessions to ensure fairness, regardless of whether a student’s specific test paper was easy or difficult.
- As there are multiple shifts in the CUET UG exam, the question papers are different.
- It is possible that despite all the efforts to maintain the difficulty among the papers, the difficulty may not be the same.
- Some candidates might end up attempting a relatively tougher paper than others.
- The candidates who attempted the tough paper will score low compared to candidates who attempted the easier one.
- Thus, a process called normalisation is used to make the scores comparable and balanced.
- The raw scores of each candidate will be normalised using the Equi-percentile method.
The Raw scores of each candidate will be converted into NTA score (Percentile score & Normalised score) using the following three steps:
- Convert Raw Scores into Percentile Scores.
- Pull the percentiles to the marks scale for each session to get the Normalised Score.
- Calculation of the Normalised Score
The formula to convert the raw scores into a percentile score is given below:

How CUET UG Result 2026 Normalisation Process Work?

Ques. Can I get admission in the Jamia Millia Islamia University without CUET?
Ans. Jamia Millia Islamia is a central university. For a limited number of courses, it accepts CUET scores, but for the majority of its courses, it conducts its own entrance exam. So it depends on the course that you’re selecting for your graduation.

FAQs
Ques. Where is the official CUET (UG) result link? When will it actually open?
Ans. The official link for the result has been generated on NTA CUET’s official website cuet.nta.nic.in, and no other place. The results has been announced on June 23.
Ques. Does NTA normalise marks for every subject or specific subjects?
Ans. The NTA normalises marks for every subject because it schedules tests in different sessions. So, to normalise any discrepancy which happened in any session, normalisation is done.
Ques. Does normalisation lead to a decrease in the marks and, as a result, a decrease in the percentile range?
Ans. Yes, normalisation can lead to decreased marks and then a decrease in the percentile range, but it does not always happen. Sometimes students also report that their marks increased in the final marksheet as compared to what they calculated.
Ques. I calculated using the provisional answer key, but the final result is different. How come?
Ans. There have been instances where the answers in the provisional answer key were different from the final answer key. If your marks are lower than 700, then it will be hard for you to get admission in premier institutions and that too in popular courses.
