CUET PG B.Ed. Science Question Paper Analysis (2024 vs 2022)
The exam has evolved significantly from 2022 to 2024, with a notable shift in the type of questions and the overall approach to testing candidates.
Exam Aspect | CUET PG 2022 | CUET PG 2024 |
---|---|---|
Question Type | Mostly fact-based and memory-driven | More application-based and analytical |
Teaching Aptitude Focus | Theory on teaching methods & pedagogy | Case studies on real-world teaching strategies |
General Knowledge & Education | Focus on static knowledge of policies & institutions | Scenario-based questions on NEP 2020 & contemporary issues |
Science Subject-Specific Questions | Straightforward definition-based questions | Experimental, real-life applications of science concepts |
Arts, Music, Yoga & Sports | Basic knowledge of arts & physical education | Integrated role of arts, yoga, and sports in education |
Current Affairs | Questions on historical education policies | Focus on modern trends, inclusive education, and technology |
The change from the 2022 to the 2024 paper shows a big shift from just remembering facts to actually using them. For example, the 2022 paper had questions like "What is the full form of NCF?", which just tested memory. In contrast, the 2024 paper had more questions that asked you to apply what you know, like "How would you make a science classroom more inclusive?" This means candidates had to think about how to use their knowledge in real-life situations.
Science questions also changed to test understanding of concepts instead of memorization of rules and formulas. The 2024 paper had questions on conducting experiments, using logic, and solving everyday problems, while the 2022 paper asked about fundamental scientific facts. That is, the exam was trying to determine whether students actually understood science.
Additionally, there was a greater focus on thinking critically and making good decisions. The 2022 paper mainly tested what you could recall from textbooks, but the 2024 paper required you to think carefully and make practical choices, like deciding the best way to assess students in a classroom.
Finally, the 2024 paper asked about new educational concepts that were not included in the 2022 paper, such as inclusive education, the National Education Policy 2020, and the use of technology to improve learning.
