IIT Goa offers MTech for two years duration in both Regular and Sponsored categories. The total minimum credit requirement is 100 credits spread through four semesters, with a minimum of 24 credits in each semester. It offers three different specializations: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The minimum requirement for admission to IIT Goa’s MTech program in 2024 is a BTech from any recognized institution with at least 55%. The GATE-qualified candidates must register themselves for COAP counselling via its official website. Academically, the MTech program is divided into two semesters, with a semester-based academic system. The regular term includes Autumn and Spring semesters, as well as a summer term.

  • The basic eligibility criteria are that the student must have completed B.Tech from any recognized university in any discipline.
  • The admissions are done based on the score of the GATE entrance examination.
  • The students are selected under two following categories: teaching assistantship and sponsored or self-finance.

IIT Goa MTech Admission Process

IIT Goa candidates after passing the GATE entrance exam need to register for the COAP counselling process. COAP provides a common platform for the registered candidates to make the most preferred choice for admission into an MTech program in the participating Institutes. To register for COAP the candidates must be a citizen of India and should have a valid GATE score.

How To Apply COAP?

The candidates can successfully apply for GATE COAP 2024 by simply following the below:

  • Visit the official website of COAP @ coap.iitd.ac. and click on the registration link.
  • Fill in details such as their GATE Registration Number, GATE Paper Code, GATE score, and date of birth.
  • Click on the “Validate” icon and enter the registered email id and mobile number.
  • Click on the “Submit to Register” button.
  • After the registration is successfully done for COAP 2024, the candidates will obtain a Login ID and Password.
  • COAP registration will be considered after the candidates log in using the Login ID and Password and verify the registration details.
  • After the completion of the above-given steps, the candidate can access the information on offers made by the participating Institutes.
  • The admission offer will be uploaded to the COAP website and will be tagged with the COAP registration number (same as the GATE registration number without the subject code).

Ans. No, the internship is not compulsory for MTech students but it is compulsory for BTech students the college provides internship opportunities and it is a part of the curriculum of BTech students but not for MTech students.

Ques. What is the placement procedure of the Indian Institute of Technology, Goa?

Ans. The placement cell collaborates with different companies and invites them to hire the students. Campus interview dates are released for the students and the students are to fill the placement form to be a part of the interview. The replacement is conducted by the companies and the college on a particular date between the placement cell and the companies. Interested students register for the particular company to which he/ she wants to apply through an online portal.
