For each specialization, IIT Jammu offers 34 seats except Mechanical Engineering, in which 33 seats are offered.
Note: The colleges also offer 5, 3, 2 supernumerary seats to female candidates in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering courses respectively.
Eligibility:
75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in 10+2 or secure top 20 percentile in 10+2 conducted by the respective board.
Selection Process:
The admission to B.Tech program is done through Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced (JEE-Advanced) rank and administered by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) through centralized counseling conducted by JoSSA at the all-India level.
Candidates can apply online for the UG courses through JEE Advanced. Candidates applying for any of the B. Tech. programs offered by IIT Jammu are required to ensure fulfillment of basic eligibility criteria with regards to the percentile of marks obtained in the last qualifying exam, prior to filling the application form.
Candidates cannot apply directly through the institute’s website. They need to first apply for JEE Main and then for JEE Advanced in order to get admission in the institute.

Generally student prefer Computer science but due to rank I don't get it Chemical engineering course is my second preference and i get it. - The campus is beautiful, nice environment.

- The campus is quite small which was not expected.
- Transportation facilities are poor and city is far distant.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The courses offered in the first semy are Quantum Physics, Materials, Calculus, and Computer Programming. The professors are quite interactive with student to faculty ratio being 40:1.Exams were on time and the Calculus exam was quite tough. All other exams were easy to pass.

- The facilities provided are good and more than expected.

- The campus isn’t completed yet work is in progress.
- They focus on academic much more and ignore sports.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is fairly nice and faculty members also interactive and good at teaching. The faculty-student ratio is about 1:40. Most of our faculty members are Ph.D. scholars and quite experienced. Exams were at appropriate times and the calculus exam was quite tough rest of them were easy to pass.

- Clubs, mostly clubs are run by students

- Administration some how there is some staff
- Small campus -basically campus is under construction

I did counselling accordingly I got chemical engineering which is my course, 5:1 is the student-faculty ratio, highly qualified professor and the teaching style is really really good there are total 4 exams two class tests one mid term and one end term

The curriculum covers all the topics and is the proper picture of technical and management knowledge. The curriculum is designed in a way that we are aware of all the outcomes of the corporate world and it prepares us as future technicians and engineers. The faculty of the college are very knowledgeable. The faculty have completed their PhD degree from the prestigious college of India. The faculty is the one that also helps us a lot during the assignments and motivates us to take part in the college's various activities.
