IIT Bhilai Scholarship 2024: List, Amount, Eligibility, Apply online
IIT Bhilai offers an array of scholarships for its students enrolled among both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The institute highly encourages its students to apply for the following scholarships. However, there is a certain requirement for each scholarship that should be matched by the applying student before applying.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship:
- The Merit Cum Means Scholarship is only available to 25% of students in UR and OBC categories.
- The economically weak students having an annual family income between INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakh who avail 2/3rd remission of the tuition fee will be eligible for 1/3rd reimbursement of tuition fee per semester + pocket money of INR 1000 per month.
- In order to be eligible for the MCM scholarship, students must have maintained a minimum CGPA of 6.0 and their annual family income should not exceed INR 5 lakhs for UR students and INR 6 lakhs for OBC students.
Institute SC/ST Scholarship:
- Under the Institute's SC/ST Scholarship Scheme, all the undergraduate students of SC/ST categories are included and can avail the scholarship.
- Students applying for the SC/ST Scholarship should have an annual family income not exceeding INR 4.5 lakhs and INR 5 lakhs for UR students and INR 6 lakhs for OBC students.
- Free messing and boarding along with a pocket allowance of INR 250 per month is awarded to the students under this scheme.
- Also, students should have a minimum CGPA of 7.0.
Institute Free Studentship Scholarship:
- The Institute Free Studentship Scholarship is awarded to only 10% of the undergraduate students whose annual family income is less than INR 5 lakhs for UR Students per annum and INR 6 lakhs for OBC students per annum.
- Also, the economically weak students having an annual family income between INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakh who avail 2/3rd remission of the tuition fee will be eligible for 1/3rd reimbursement of tuition fee per semester.
- In order to be eligible for the Institute Free Studentship Scholarship, students should have scored a minimum CGPA of 6.0.
Institute Fellowship to Postgraduate Students:
- IIT Bhilai also offers paid fellowships to its postgraduate students such as Non-Sponsored M.Tech students having a valid GATE score for a maximum of 21 months.
- For the Ph.D. students, the institute offers fellowships for 3 years.

- Lack of sports culture in the campus due to studious students
- Not alot but there's a bit of politics over here where the heads try to incubate their own people
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
I am not sure about the fee structure but it is available on the official college site so people can go through it. In addition to it EWS students get free tuition fee and college is tied up with banks for education loan too. No scholarship for BTech students

- IIT Bhilai stands out for its forward thinking curriculum which is designed to foster innovation and interdisciplinary learning. The emphasis on project based learning and research from the early semesters is particularly commendable.
- The campus life at IIT Bhilai is vibrant and engaging , the students here are known to everyone the bond between phd and tech students is precious.with numerous clubs and societies catering to a wide range of interests from robotics to music.
Dislikes
- The institute couldnt attract top companies for campus placements which offers both core technical fields and diverse sectors
- Can improve its campus infrastructure with more greenery
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
As an Sc student at IIT Bhilai, I benefit from an academic fee waiver and only need to cover hostel and dini g charges which is around 30k to 50k per semester. Numerous scholarships are available based on income and merit which can cover those additional charges

- The fest MERAZ....which I would waiting all year.
- Food add ons. I might say...we do have max all types of chicken recipes.
Dislikes
- Basic food... without salt and masala...eating rotis everyday is kind of boring.
- Visiting places...there were a very few here...we need to go long for some.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The cost of study is quite high here. I really hate to say that we aren't given washing machines yet...for which we were asking for so long????. We need to pay nearly 1.5 lakhs every semester. We do have scholarships based on certain criteria and they will be provided for only those who are eligible.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Fee structure taken is almost same like other IITs, Close to 1.5 Lakh per sem for General category students and campus also provides category based and economic condition based fee waiver . Also merit based scholarships are provided by college.

- The freedom is given by college that u can stay in hostel if u don't want to go to class.
- you can get a serious preparation for your sport and u can represent as iit Bhilai student.
Dislikes
- After night 11 we can't go outside and we can't get food within campus but they will allow swiggy and zomato upto their app services allowed.
- Some sport courts are going on under construction.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The fees depend upon the salary income of your family and it is divided into 3 types they are. 1. Below 1 lakh. 2. Between 1 lakh and 5 lakh. 3. Above 5 lakh. If you belong to Category 1 then you will get a 90 percent concession and for Group 250 percent and for Group 3 you have you pay the full fee.

- Packages are decent enough as a 3rd gen iit , hope it gets increased

- It is located in a rural type area and we did not have basic amenities like gym in like 5km
- Weather is a bit hot and the sun can be scorching sometimes
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The Fee Structure is a little bit high in IIT Bhilai, for tuition fees it is normal, we also have a fee waiver for economically weaker students, and for other reservations and other minor scholarships, the hostel and mess cost is a bit high.

- Location is very far from city which cause a lot of problems.
- Construction work is going on which cause lot of problem.

Our fee structure includes mess fees of 23000, hostel fees of 17000, and tuition fees of 100000. There are too many opportunities for a scholarship for sc/st is 150 rupees every month and income less than 600000. There is a fee waiver for sc/st of 100% and other categories with income<100000 of 100% fee waiver and 100000

- The hostel Life is at another level here. Playing sports at night has now become a habit of every person here.
- The clubs here provide a great opportunity to students to improve their personality.
Dislikes
- The food quality sometimes degrade which is a little bit concerning.
- The internet speed is not very much fast as the college is situated in outskirts of city.

The fee structure of the college also depends on the reservation. A fee waiver is given to those who have a reservation or their family income is less. Scholarships are provided by merit. Meritorious students are given various scholarships.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The annual fee is 164000. There are many fee waivers and scholarships for reserved candidates but I haven't availed any. I would like to do so in the future by scoring appropriate CGPA and SGPA. These facilities help the economically weaker sections a lot.

The cost of the study is high but we can easily get a fee waiver and can have up to 67 per cent of the fee. Scholarships are also provided as students I'd card and many companies come for internships and jobs
