What is an honest review of SSTC Bhilai placements?

Students and alumni claim that SSTC Bhilai believes in spreading fake propaganda about their placement records. For instance, if they are showing 100 placements, it means there were only 10 placements. They keep students busy in attending Campus preparation classes and fool them, saying that they will get good placements. The college has a low placement record. Most of the time they outsource their placement preparations and that does affect your regular studies. Companies do arrive on campus but packages offered are too low and that too for call centre profiles. Companies come for CSE but mostly selected students are from Electronics and college does nothing to avoid that. They have Student Assistance Cell and Placement Assistance Cell where some talented students from each class are selected and they are being trained as waiters in the name of personality development. These students are made to miss their classes so that they carry a Tea Tray and Breakfast for the college guests. Overall, if you want to get a good job then better you get admitted in any college in Maharashtra or Delhi instead of choosing any college in Chhattisgarh.

SSTC Bhilai is spread across an area of 25 Acres, housing some of the best facilities for students, staff and faculty. Some of these are listed below.

Hostels: The hostels are provided with all basic facilities including water coolers with water purifiers, washing machines, common TV room, common reading room, common gym, etc. Adequate dining facilities are available for all hostellers.
Transportation: The College runs an extremely efficient transportation system with safe and reliable transport facility extended to students upon request at the beginning of the session, subject to availability of seats.
Library: SSTC’s Library provides access to more than 73078 books and 1695 e-books covering all fields of knowledge. taff and students have unlimited access to a wealth of information found in resources ranging from traditional print and video to specialized collections of books, journals & other resources in Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy and Management ranging from printed books, e-books, back volumes and CDs/DVDs. The library subscribes to national and international journals in print and e-Journals. The library uses software for automation and has implemented RFID technology with self-issue and return.
Sports Pavilion & Gym: SSTC has a large playing ground, which meets the requirements of all outdoor and indoor games. The college also has a very well-equipped gymnasium at the campus with various exercise equipment and body fitness tools for students & faculties as well.
Health Care Facilities: Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences (SSIMS) is a Chhattisgarh based top multi-specialty healthcare centre with 850 beds which provides complete treatment and surgery; is a constituent college of Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus through its primary health centre in the Campus provides round the clock primary (basic) health care services to all the students, staff and their dependents, faculty and other employees working/residing at SSTC, Bhilai.
Food Court: Food courts are located to cater to the refreshment needs of both students and staff inside the sprawling campus. A variety of nutritious and hygienic South / North Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college adhering to the quality standards.

Ques. What is an honest review of SSTC Bhilai?

Ans. As per our research, alumni report that these Shankara Group of colleges are merely a way of earning money and to fill the owners’ pockets.

They do not put any effort into enriching the knowledge of students. Most alumni claim they can bet that 99% of students remain jobless after getting their degrees. Most of them opt for software firms or prepare for GATE and a fraction of students for GRE or MBA. The faculty and staff are very poor. Those who have good knowledge do not want to teach because they are getting paid, anyway. No encouragement from college for participation in national events. If students are interested then they have to do it themselves. The laboratory facilities are worse. We couldn't even call them labs. During the third year, most of the lab periods were converted into lecture classes just because completing the course is more important than getting practical knowledge.

Ques. Which is better, SSTC Bhilai or BIT Raipur?

Ans. Although both are good for engineering, students and alumni recommend eligible candidates to join BIT Raipur and not SSTC Bhilai. Most CGPET toppers prefer joining BIT over SSTC. Although it ranks lower than NIT Raipur, BIT Raipur is preferred for its overall reputation, experienced faculty, and more avenues for research & development.

Ques. What are the SSTC Bhilai hostel facilities like, for girls?

Ans. Female students at SSTC Bhilai claim that SSTC Bhilai hostel facilities are good. The rooms are clean, bed, table, chair, almirah, washing machine, and washers are available. The meals offered are decent. Without registration, outsiders are not allowed to enter the hostel. This is helpful for the safety & security of girls.

Days in my college till now

Likes

Infrastructure of the college is very good with greenery.
Fest are always held by the college to social life development.
Faculties are very helpful and friendly by nature.

Dislikes

Exams marking system is not that good due to this few students got failed.
Extra curriculum is missing in the course.
Sports facilities are less then other college's.

The placement of the college is good , most of the students could make it to crack a campus placement drive only. 1. From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placement. 2. The companies visited are many like TCS, Wipro, Tata Motors etc with 80 % of offers. 3. Highest and average package is varies between 10lpa to 4lpa and the profiles are developer, sales etc 4. 80 % Students getting placed by the placements. 5 After getting the degree i want to be a software development and work for top company like Amazon and facebook.

Internship opportunity in various organization

1. The companies are Tata Technologies , Mindtree etc and roles offered under internship are associate intern with stipend too. 2. Till now we didn't have any project based curriculum in 1st year but yeah in 2nd or 3nd year we are definitely going to make projects.

My overall experience is till in the campus is very good and enjoyable. Social aspects is also growing throughout my studies and extra curriculum activities , club involvement is there to grow our social aspects , infrastructure provided by the college is sports grounds , labs , Wi-Fi etc. 1. There are many annual and technical fest is held by college in campus like technica 2. There are large number of books available in the library for course related or higher study related too. 3. The facilities technologies provided within the classrooms are smart class , ac etc 4. Number of sports and extracurricular activities are offered on the campus. 5. Student runs social group for coding , finance for impact on student life.

1. Year-wise fees i paid is 80000 2. Tuition Fee = 40000 ( Include development fee , lab fee , and the others charges too ) caution Fee = 10000 Registration Fee = 1000 3. The fees of your batchmates for all the categories are same. 4. College don't provide any scholarships for the students

Course curriculum and teaching methods to be implemented

1. Specific aspects is over all is same as other college have in there course. 2. The curriculum prepares us for real world applications so we can work in real world scenario. 3. Suggestion should be for improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods should be modern like smart class, practical studies etc. 4. The frequency and timing of exam is not that difficult , all the exams are held by the college is on time.

What are students views about faculties in campus and evaluation criteria followed?

1. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1/60. Student relationship with faculty is friendly and very much approachable. 2. The faculties i like the most is Tarun Singh because his teaching skill is very realistic. The best facilities are Tarun Singh , Ritika Maam etc. 3. The facilies i didn't like at all is Bahadur Singh , he is very rude and rough by nature. 4. There are 3 exams held in the semester and all of the exams are on an average is not that easy nor difficult. 5 to 10 % students fail to clear the exams. The course is very much relevant with the curriculum.

Why students choose this college and ways to get admission in the college?

I choose this college is because of it's near by my native place over other colleges i applied for. Other colleges dont have good infrastructure and they are far from my city in other state too. the admission process is easy by applying for JEE Mains or direct admission is also available for my college with certain criteria.

I like the campus of my college it's quite big and also it's proper maintained.
The college has a big library with all the books are properly maintained

Dislikes

The classroom is not properly maintained the windows are broken the benches are dirty and also broken
Although the compass is big but it does not have a proper playground for any sports
And also although the campus is fully Wi-Fi but there is no Wi-Fi

lack of functionality in cctv - although we have cctv cameras it only shows the live footage meaning there is no option to record footage . ive been falsely accused of cheating in exam and when i asked for them for proof they told me to go .

it is near where i live . it is cheap parents werent prepare to let me go to other states yes i didnt qualified for IIT raipur i scores 82 percentile on my jee exams my college offers direct admission . admission via jee and cgpet exams ,

College insurance is not good. No sports grounds etc
Crowd is not good. As they give admission to everyone. Most people come just for the sake of degree

I choose this colleges because of the less semester feess as compared to other college and no strict attendance policy which allows students to work on themselves. for a private engineering college this is decent one

The college campus and infrastructure is one of the things which i liked
Second thing would be cricketing events that i liked and loved our college conducts 3-4 events of cricket every year

Admission:

for the admission you need to first clear 12th with minimum percentage of 45 and then you can give state pet test and acording to your marks a college would be allotted to you in counceling and in corona year the exam didn't happen and i got the college just by 12th percentage

Environment of the college is very good.
There ia no problem of attendance in the college
There is very greenery in the college and coolness.

Dislikes

Although Central Library is very big but books are not easily accessible.

Admission:

Admission process was very transparent and easy.. First you have to fill a admission form of rs 1000 and then rest process is done. Cutoff for CS was very high this year... Sudents those who given the state exam was given the first priority. There was no reservation process in the admission

Course name - BE Information Technology Eligibility of the course - Completion of 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry is compulsory subjects. Based on PET exam, OBC -27% The entrance of the exam was conducted in a sem-wise the exam was held on 1st week of October the exam was moderately difficult.

Admission:

Admission was done on the basis of CGPET exam score. A minimum cutoff of rank under 4000 was the criteria. Counseling was done after the results were out, after this the admission process started. During admission, basic documentation was required after verification.

Visit the official website of CG DTE, Raipur.
Click on the “New Registration” to register yourself.
Fill the application form with all necessary details.
Once the application form is submitted, make the fee payment.
Following this, the candidates have to get their documents verified at the Document verification Center (DVC).
The list of DVCs will be available on the CG DTE, Raipur official website.
Fill your preferences for colleges and programs during online counselling.
Once counselling is done, you will receive the seat allotment.
Report to your institute with fees and documents for admission.

Candidates can apply online for all the courses by following the given steps:

Initially, the candidates have to apply online under the “new registration” in CG DTE, Raipur.
Once the application form is submitted, the candidates have to get their documents verified at the Document verification Center (DVC). The list of DVCs will be available on the CG DTE, Raipur official website.

Following are the documents required to be verified at the respective DVCs:

10th class mark sheet or Birth Certificate
Mark sheet of qualifying examination such as 10th/12th/Graduation/Diploma/ITI as applicable.
Scorecard of Common Entrance Tests like CG PET/JEE Main/CG PPHT/Pre-MCA/NIMCET/ PPT/ CMAT/GATE/GPAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA or NATA as applicable.

Yes, the college's placement records are good and the infrastructure and facilities are at world-class levels. The fee is also nominal at Shri Shankaracharya Group Of Institutions.
